Chapter 1245
Mistaking a Magnate for a Male Escort
With a sharpened gaze, Zachary launched a kick at Louis.
Spewing out a mouthful of blood, Louis crashed onto the ground.
âDo you really think that I donât dare to kill you?â Zachary glared ferociously at Louis. âLet me tell you. If I had wanted to do so, you would have been dead in your home, let alone in F Nation.â
âZachary, youâ¦â Seized by rage, Louis spat out another mouthful of blood.
âSir Louis!â At that moment, Louisâ subordinates came to help him. They questioned Zachary, âMr. Nacht, how can you do this to Sir Louis? Arenât you friends?â
âFriends?â Zachary sneered. âI treated him as my friend. But, he stole my woman.â
âCharlotte is my fiancée. Sheâs mine!â Louis roared adamantly.
âDo you still want to marry her despite the fact that she has just slept with me?â Zachary triggered him on purpose.
âYouâ¦â Louis raged hysterically, âIâm going to kill you!â
âAs if you can.â Zachary taunted him at every turn.
âGather my men and soldiers here, Iâm going to kill this b*stard right now!â
Louis had gone berserk.
Wrapping herself with the blanket, Charlotte walked up to Louis and struck his neck, rendering him unconscious.
Suddenly, silence filled the air.
âTake your Duke home,â Charlotte ordered Louisâ subordinates.
âYes.â They left with him at once.
When Charlotte gave Lupine a look, she quickly followed them out. She then gave Gordonâs men a call and instructed them to escort Louis safely home.
If something were to happen to him along the journey, it would significantly complicate matters.
After that, everyone was asked to leave.
Back in the room, only Charlotte, Zachary, Lupine, and Ben remained.
âZachary, youâve got guts.â Charlotte gritted her teeth as she glared at him. âAre you satisfied now? Have you vented enough?â
âNot even close.â With a cigar between his fingers, Zachary held his wine glass without even looking at Charlotte.
âWhat will it take before Iâm allowed to see my children?â Holding back her anger, Charlotte demanded, âState your conditions!â
After a brief silence, Zachary replied, âCancel the wedding and swear to never marry again!â
Stunned, Charlotte stared at him in bewilderment. âWhy? What has my marriage got anything to do with you? What gives you the right to control me?â
âIt appears that you have no intention of seeing the children,â Zachary mocked. âDidnât you ask me for my conditions? And yet, you canât even meet this simple request of mine.â
âThose are my children. You have no right to stop me from seeing them,â Charlotte screamed furiously.
âI donât care. What are you going to do about it?â
Stonewalling her, Zachary was in no mood for reason.
âYouâ¦â Charlotte was outraged.
âAre you that desperate to get married?â Zachary questioned her instead. âAfter what happened tonight, do you think Louis would still want to marry you?â
âWhether he or I want to get married or not has nothing to do with you. You have no right to interfere in my private affairs.â Charlotte was incensed.
âHmm, in that case, go ahead and enjoy your freedom.â
Having no intention to discuss the matter any further, Zachary walked toward the bathroom.
âZacharyâ¦â When Charlotte wanted to stop him, Ben persuaded her, âMs. Lindberg, Mr. Nacht is blinded by anger right now. Whatever you say will only fall on deaf ears. Why donât you go back first.â
âExactly. Letâs just leave first, okay?â
Lupine put a jacket over Charlotte.
She sympathized with Charlotte when she saw how Charlotteâs negotiations ended in her being in a pathetic state.
Nevertheless, she was cognizant that reason sometimes just couldnât prevail.
Looking miserable, Charlotte had no choice but to leave.
âMs. Lindberg,â Ben called out to her suddenly. He softly reminded, âMorgan and her subordinates have been asked to leave. Thereâs no way the three of them are enough to take the children from Bruce.â
âWhat are you saying? Are you looking down on the Lindberg family?â Lupine snapped.
âThatâs not what I meant.â Furrowing his brows, Ben explained, âTrying to take them by force isnât going to work.
You have to slog it out.â
