Chapter 366
Mistaking a Magnate for a Male Escort
âShut up, brat,â Henry snapped. âDonât mind him, kids,â he calmed the children down.
âYouâre so nice to us, Mr. Henry.â Ellie hugged Henry, and her adorable voice melted his heart.
âIâll repay my debt when I grow up, grandpa.â Jamie thumped his chest. âIâll be a rich guy and buy you anything you want. I promise.â
Henry roared with laughter. âGood! Good!â
âHeâs such a smooth talker.â Ben smiled. âNo wonder Mr. Henryâs so amused.â
Charlotte heaved a sigh of relief. Good thing Robbie made his move at the right time, or else I would have stepped in. Thatâd play right into his hand. But Zachary seems to be doing it on purpose. Did he recognize me?
Charlotte didnât want to stay there any longer. Thus, she quickly cleaned up the place and prepared to leave. âHold it,â Zachary said. Charlotte stopped in her tracks, her sight remaining downward as she waited for his command. âYou missed a spot.â He pointed at the wine stain on the table.
Heeding his orders, Charlotte went over to clean the table. However, Robbie frowned, unsure of what to feel.
âGrandpa, did you get their parentsâ approval before you did all of that?â Zachary said on purpose. âWhat if the kidsâ father objects to it?â
The children looked despondent at the mention of their father. After all, the other kids laughed at them because they had no father.
âCan you shut up?â Henry knew the kids came from a single-parent family, and he didnât want to talk about that.
âWhatâs your fatherâs name?â Zachary kept on asking, ignoring Henry.
The kids looked at one another, unsure of what to answer. Fury welled up within Charlotte, her hand trembling. That b*stard. Heâs doing this on purpose. I donât mind him doing this to me, but why the kids?
Why in front of everyone? She felt like slapping him at that moment.
âDidnât your mommy tell you?â Zachary tried to wheedle it out of them.
âWhy should we tell you?â Robbie glared. âDonât you think hassling us when we canât answer is a rude behavior?â
Zachary was surprised to see Robbie so angry. Michaelâs been getting along with them for a while now.
Donât they know that heâs their father? Even if they donât, he would tell them, wouldnât he? Wait, did this stupid woman lie to me? Michael isnât actually their father?
Zachary was inexplicably excited once that idea popped up. He was about to keep asking when the glass of fruit juice was spilled onto him all of a sudden. Frowning, he stared at the âjanitorââ coldly. She did it on purpose.
âSorry, Iâm so sorry. I didnât mean it,â Charlotte kept apologizing and wiping his shirt with the cloth she used to clean the table.
âF*ck off!â Zachary shoved her away, and she inadvertently fell.
âMommy!â Robbie shot up and exclaimed.
Everyone looked at him. âWhatâs wrong, Robbie?â Henry asked.
âIâ¦â Robbie looked away and shifted the topic quickly, âI just remembered that mommyâs alone at home and hasnât had dinner yet.â
âOh yeah. I have to get some food for her.â Ellie filled a bag with the food on her plate, planning to take it home to her mother.
âI wanna get her something to eat too.â Jamie helped.
âNow, now, kids. Iâll get them to pack something else for your mother,â Henry quickly said. âYouâre all good kids, but you should finish your dinner first. Your mother shouldnât have leftovers for dinner, right?
Iâll take you home once they cook something up for your mother.â
