Chapter 469
Mistaking a Magnate for a Male Escort
A corner of Henryâs mouth quirked up. It took him a while to utter a word. âOkayâ¦â
qâMr. Henryâ¦â Ellie said in between sobs, âI wonât make you piggyback me anymore, Mr. Henry.
Please get well soon. I want to buy hot cross bunnies for you to eat.â
âDonât cry, Ellie,â Jamie said, but even he himself could not stop his tears from rolling down his cheeks.
âSorry, Mr. Henry, I shouldnât have forced you to play with us. You must be really tired.â
âWhatâs wrong with you two?â As the older brother, Robbie raised his voice and expressed his dismay.
âI thought we agreed not to cry?â
âNo, I didnât cry.â Jamie took in a deep breath and wiped tears off his face with his tiny hands.Ellie pouted, but she also tried resisting the urge to cry.
Spencer came up to the children and consoled them. âAll right, all right. Letâs not disturb Mr. Henry anymore, shall we? Letâs go out.â
âOkay.â They nodded.
âSay goodbye to Mr. Henry,â Spencer reminded.
âBye, Mr. Henry. When we come to visit you the next time, Iâll bring hot cross bunnies for you, okay?â
Ellie said.
âGet well soon, Mr. Henry. Letâs play soccer together soon,â Jamie added.
âSee you soon, Mr. Henryâ¦â
Spencer brought the children out and said, âWait for me at the lounge, okay? Iâll bring you home soon.â
âOkay, Mr. Spencer.â All three of them nodded.
At the lounge, the medical staff took good care of the children. They even prepared snacks and fruit juice for them.
Spencer walked to the office as he wanted to know more about Henryâs condition. All of a sudden, Zachary opened the door and left in a hurry. He almost knocked Spencer down.
Spencer shouted in pain while clenching his chest. âMr. Zachary, Iâm old, so please be more kind to meâ¦â
Zachary did not even look at Spencer. He kept pressing the button outside the elevator as if he was in a hurry to go somewhere.
âWhere are you going?â Spencer caught up with him and asked, âI need to discuss with youâ¦â
âDo not allow any visitors to come in without my permission. You hear me?â Zachary instructed and went into the elevator.
He then stepped forward, prevented the elevatorâs door from closing, and asked, âWhere are the kids?â
âTheyâre in the lounge. Iâll be sending them home soonâ¦â
âNo.â Zachary interrupted and instructed, âTheyâll stay with you.â
Spencer was dumbfounded. âBut why? What happened?â
Zachary did not answer him. He took a few steps back, allowing the elevatorâs door to close.
A line formed between Spencerâs brows as he could feel something had must have happened. At this point, he could only do what Zachary told him to.
âMr. Spencer, the carâs ready. Shall we send them back to Happy Avenue?â
âNo,â Spencer said, âWeâll take them back to our place. Get people to prepare the daily essentials for the kids.â
âAll right.â
Spencer walked to the lounge and noticed how upset Robbie, Jamie, and Ellie were. They sat quietly on the couch and did not touch the snacks and fruit juice at all.
âCan we go home now, Mr. Spencer?â Robbie asked when he saw Spencer coming in.
âThereâs something I need to discuss with all of you.â Spencer squatted down and continued, âI need you to stay at Mr. Henryâs house, okay? Iâm sure Mr. Henry will be glad to see all of you when he returns home.â
Jamie and Ellie exchanged glances and then looked at Robbie, who was the ultimate decision maker of them all.
âI need to ask Mommy first,â Robbie said, âWe need to get her approval.â
âAll right.â Spencer gently tapped on Robbieâs shoulder, âLetâs go outside and call your Mommy, okay?â
âOkay.âq
