Chapter 581
Mistaking a Magnate for a Male Escort
The designers waited for the children to reach home and took their measurements.
The triplets were intrigued.
Ellie stood on the platform with her stubby arms outstretched so the designer could wrap the measuring tape around her. Genuinely baffled, she questioned, âMiss, why are you making me new clothes? We have a lot of new clothes already.â
The designer chuckled and responded, âYour daddy and mommy are getting married! Youâre one of the main characters and also the flower girl. Thatâs why you need new clothes!â
âDaddy and mommy are getting married? Really?â Robbie was thrilled. A bright smile bloomed on his handsome face. âWhen are they getting married? Why donât I know about this?â
âIt should happen soon. Weâre here today to help your mommy design a wedding dress.â
âThatâs amazing!â Jamie almost leaped in excitement.
âRobbie, Jamie, what does that mean?â
Ellie stared at her brothers with her head cocked to a side, her face earnest. She was still young and had not grasped the concept of marriage.
âGetting married means that daddy and mummy will become legal partners. Theyâll be together forever and never be separated,â Robbie replied solemnly.
âThatâs great!â Ellie clapped her chubby hands with glee. âThen we will all be together forever! Nothing will separate us!â
âThatâs right.â Robbie nodded in approval.
âYay! Iâm so happy!â
The childrenâs cheers filled the room, making the atmosphere light and joyful. Their happiness was so contagious that the designers and maids felt happy for them.
Charlotte glimpsed the childrenâs bright expressions when she walked past the room. A myriad of conflicting emotions churned within her. I should feel happy as well, butâ
âWhatâs all this excitement about?â A familiar voice interrupted her thoughts.
Charlotte whipped around to see Zachary walking down the spiral staircase. He unbuttoned his suit jacket as he approached her.
âWhy are you back so early today?â Charlotte was surprised to see him. âItâs not five yet.â
âI came back to fetch you guys.â Zachary glanced at his watched and instructed, âGo change your clothes. Iâm bringing everyone out for dinner.â
âNow?â Charlotte asked, taken aback.
âYes. Will half an hour be enough for you to get dressed?â Zachary stroked her hair lovingly.
âYes.â Charlotte stood on her tiptoes to peck his lips before rushing back to their room to prepare.
Zachary watched her adorable figure dart into the room. An amused smile played on his lips.
âDaddyâs back!â
âDaddy!â
The children swarmed towards their father when they noticed him standing by the door.
Zachary bent down and spread his arms out wide, engulfing all three kids in a hug. He kissed their foreheads and asked, âHow was it? Have you had your measurements taken?â
âYes!â The triplets answered in unison.
âDaddy, are you and mommy really getting married?â
Robbie desperately needed confirmation. Flecks of light shone in his clear eyes as he stared up at his father.
âYes.â Zachary smiled and nodded.
âThatâs great! Yay!â His reply sent the children into another round of celebration.
âI want to be the flower girl! I want to wear a pretty dressâ¦â Ellieâs arm shot up as she declared eagerly, âI want to stand in the middle!â
âIâm the second child, so I should be in the middle!â Jamie argued, fretting about the loss of his center spot. âEllie, youâre the youngest; you should be the last.â
âI donât want to!â Ellie stamped her foot in indignation. Her small face was flushed scarlet. âIâm a girl, so I have to stand in between you two! Iâll only look pretty this way.â
âEllieââ
âJamie,â Robbie hurriedly interjected and spread his arms out to keep his siblings apart. âWeâll walk side-by-side! No one will be in front or at the back, and Ellie can be in the middle!â
âWalk side-by-side?â Jamie repeated. He contemplated for a moment before nodding in agreement.
âAlright. You can be in the middle, Ellie,â he offered generously.
âThank you, Jamie.â Ellie beamed at her brother, her chubby face filled with unbridled joy. âThen I want to hold the ring!â
âNo, I should be the ring bearer!â Ellieâs enthusiasm for the wedding sparked yet another argument with Jamie. âI already gave up the center for you. How could youââ
âI want to hold the ring!â Ellie started to become frantic. Tears brimmed in her doe-like eyes.
âEllie, youâll look prettier holding a flower bouquet,â Robbie, ever the mediator of the three, quickly placated his sister. âThe flowers are for mommy. Youâll look beautiful holding them!â
