Chapter 22
Guardian-In-Law by Five Generals
Chapter 22 Beat Up Ned Brooks Ignoring the ferocious glares of the Quint family, Kaze went over to help Darcy up. âDarcy, letâs go home. I assure you nothing will happen.â
He also helped Agnes up and brought them out of the mansion.
âDarcy, you hit Ned Brooks! Do you really think you can run away like that? Turn yourself in!â
âYou better surrender for the sake of our family! Think of your parents! Hmph!â
The others continued to threaten Darcy, causing her face to turn as pale as paper.
âKaze, send Mom and Dad home. Iâll go turn myself in.â
After leaving the Quint familyâs mansion, Darcy held Kazeâs hand a tears washed her face. She said, âPlease take care of them. I do believe my grandfather and the others, but I believe in you.â
Agnes was worried. She pulled Darcy away and said to Kaze, âKaze, why donât you take her spot? Darcy has suffered enough for the past few years and itâs all because of you.â
Kazeâs heart was broken, but it was indeed his fault that Darcy and her family suffered terribly for the past few years.
He ignored Agnes and said, âDarcy, Iâm telling you this isnât serious at all. Weâll go talk to Ned Brooks and I assure you nothing will happen to you.â
âKaze, do you even know how serious the problem is? The Brooks family is a first-tier family, his uncle is the mayor of the city, Johnson Brooks. This is serious. Itâs my fault for being reckless.â
Darcy covered her face with her hands and tears would drip through the seams of her fingers.
She then wiped the tears off and said, âKaze, bring Mom and Dad home. Iâll turn myself in at the police station.â
No matter how Kaze tried to convince her, Darcy refused to believe him. He felt helpless. He knew he had to act fast to solve the problem, and only then Darcy would believe him.
âIâll go talk to Ned Brooks now.â
As he walked away, he pulled his phone out and called Draco. âI told you to contact Johnson Brooks. Is this how you do your job? I want to see him at the Housing Department in thirty minutes!â
âKaze Lee, come back here! Iâm telling you to turn yourself in on behalf of Darcy, where are you going?â Agnes shouted but it did not stop Kaze.
Infuriated, she bellowed, âDarcy, look at the man you married! He canât do anything for us! You went to ask for the pre-sale certificat and now that things have gone wrong, he left us! Look at how supportive Vincent is of Deborah...â
âMom, stop it. Kaze might not be much help, but he wonât abandon me. After he hits a snag at the Housing Department, he will come back.â
Darcy then headed to the police station.
Meanwhile, at the Housing Departmentâs office, Ned had just come back from the hospital after getting treated.
He slammed his office door shut and shouted, âThat bitch! No one has ever done this to me in my entire life, and itâs by a woman!â
âChief, I got the news that the woman is going to turn herself into the Nedâs subordinate grinned wickedly and continued, âUntil then, sheâs yours to play with.â
âHahaha! Good idea. I have never tried a female prisoner before!â
Ned laughed hysterically upon hearing his subordinateâs suggestion.
Bang!
The office door suddenly blasted in, hitting the subordinate in the head.
Before he could even scream, he was knocked out cold.
âWho the fuck...â
Frightened, Ned looked at the doorless entrance.
âDarcyâs husband, Kaze Lee.â
Kaze strode into the office.
