Chatper 349
Guardian-In-Law by Five Generals
Chapter 349 More to the Remarriage âYeah. Iâm happy to let the Soups take the mansion if it means Winnie wonât have to suffer. We are fine with a smaller house.â
Teresa wiped her tears.
Lyla was arrogant. She attacked Winnie in Teresaâs and Camryâs presence.
Zenny was a mamaâs boy, so he would not come to his wifeâs defense.
Teresa was worried that Lyla would inflict worse pain on Winnie behind closed doors.
âEverybody has their own life to live. Winnie has remarried. Worrying about her wonât help.â
Kaze could not understand Teresa and Camry.
If Winnie had not sought solace in another man, Kaze would never allow the wife of his friend to be picked on.
However, Winnie married Zenny not long after Jamesâ death.
Kaze did not have an opinion about Winnie, and he was not the type to meddle in the affairs of others.
âHow can we not? Sheâs like a daughter to us,â Teresa said helplessly.
Camry sighed. âWhen James left, we owed people a lot of money. Brenda fell ill at the time, and the hospital told us to prepare for the worst.
âWinnie was the COO of Shangrila Group, but after what happened to James, she couldnât get a job anywhere. Out of options, she married her suitor, Zenny, so that his family would pay for Brendaâs medical +25 BONUS bills.
âWe were a burden to Winnie. Otherwise, she didnât have to marry Zenny and suffer for it.â
Kaze was shocked. He had no idea the depths of Winnieâs motivations for remarrying.
Brenda had suffered a severe illness, and Kaze had noticed her poor health and immunity when he first met the girl.
Every time Kaze came over, he would hold the girl and help her with her rehabilitation.
âRest assured that I wonât let any harm come to Winnie.â
If Winnie had her reasons to marry another man, Kaze could not turn a blind eye to her predicament.
âReally, Kaze?â
Teresa and Camry looked at Kaze in pleasant surprise.
They knew Kaze could make things happen. If he was willing to help, Winnie would be able to escape the miserable life.
Kaze gave Snow a call. âLook into a Winnie Souffle, Snow. See if she can handle the responsibilities as the general manager of Shangrila Group.â
It took Kaze too long to recognize that Winnie was a capable woman.
She once ran a business with James and established Shan from the ground up.
Kaze intended to restore Shangrila Group to do right by James. Making sure his buddyâs family lives were comfortable was the le Kaze could do.
+25 BONUS Winnie never betrayed James. As a matter of fact, she tried her best to keep the family together after Jamesâ passing.
She deserved the job as the general manager of Shangrila Group more than anyone else.
âMr. Chairman, Winnie has been out of a job for two years, but she has the experience and qualifications to handle the job. Itâs up to her to take the job.â
Soon, Snow came back with a response.
Kaze replied, âAlright. Give her a call and ask what she thinks about it.â
After Benedictâs run-in with law enforcement, Zenny and Lyla took Winnie to live at another property.
Since Benedict was the deputy director of the medical center, the family owned more than one house.
Even though they now lived in an old apartment which was 1,500 sq ft in size, it was still ample space.
Always looking for drama, Lyla pressured Winnie into demanding No. 9 Springville District. Accustomed to luxury, Lyla refused to settle for a less prestigious neighborhood.
She was jealous that the riffraff like Jamesâ parents could live in a mansion.
Lyla was still furious when she returned from the Chapmansâ Jade Estate.
âI made you something to drink, Mom. Iâm sorry about-â
Winnie humbly served a beverage to Lyla.
âStop annoying me, you backstabber!â
