Chapter 696
Guardian-In-Law by Five Generals
Chapter 696 My Wife Put On a Show Other members of the Quint family admitted their mistake too.
To think the high and mighty would genuinely acknowledge their fault to Darcy. Darcyâs eyes welled up.
The burden of the past lifted at last as she finally found closure.
As the Quints suspected, Darcy had a weak spot for them.
Darcy pulled out her phone. âIâll give Miru a call. Maybe she can get through to Dallas Moneylender.â
âHang on.â
Kaze held her hand down.
With Kaze threatening to foil their plans again, the Quints gnashed their teeth.
âKaze, Grandfather and the others have admitted their mistake, and they are welcoming us back with open arms,â Darcy told Kaze.
âCome with me, babe.â
Kaze pulled Darcy to the side and whispered, âJust pretend you canât do anything for them. Test the waters. If they are genuinely apologetic, Iâll support you in getting the Quints out of the mess. But if theyâre only doing it to trick âIâll go along with it.â
Getting the message, Darcy nodded.
you-
She pretended to be on the phone with Miru before walking back to say, âI just talked to Miru, Grandfather. She said she canât afford to piss Dallas Moneylender off, so she canât help.
âIâm sorry but my hands are tied. I canât help with the debt.â
Darcy then observed the Quintsâ reaction.
The Quint familyâs response blew her mind.
They were taken aback at first, but the despair soon settled in. They went ballistic.
âBitch! You shouldâve said you couldnât help. That was a waste of our emotions.â
âYouâre such a loser. You are close with the Queens and Miru, and yet they are no 1/3 you down with us!â
These people had lost all hope.
Resigning to their fate, the Quints took out all their negativity on Darcy.
Darcy had always been their punching bag.
Having braced herself, Darcy said nothing.
She wanted to see what Master Quint would say.
âSeriously, Darcy?â
Master Quint pointed at Darcy exasperatedly. âI take back everything I said. You donât have what it takes to be a Quint or the head of the household.â
âSo, the apologies were all fake, Grandfather?â Darcy asked with a wry smile.
âThatâs right. Donât tell me youâd expect me to apologize to you. Who do you think you are?â
Master Quint sneered. âIt was all an act.â
Darcy staggered.
It was all pretend.
âThatâs funny because my wife was putting on a show too.â
Kaze grabbed Darcyâs phone and dangled it in front of Master Quint. âSee the recent calls? My wife didnât make the call to Miru.â
âYou lied to us, Darcy!â
Master Quint scowled.
The other members of the family did not see that coming.
They froze.
âI bet you didnât think my wife would play you like a fiddle. Idiots!â
Kaze held Darcyâs hand. âCome on, babe. Let them take care of their own mess.â
Darcy followed him with a blank face, refusing to take another look at the Quints.
She was played a fool once more.
The Quints were outraged.
415 BONUS âArgh! Iâm going to kill you, Darcy!â
âYouâre a bastard, Kaze! It must have been your idea! Well, your wife cheated on you with Mathias. You donât have anything to be proud of!â
Kaze cocked his head back.
He made a beeline to the member of the Quint family who made the comment.
The person was Keenan, Darcyâs uncle.
Smack!
Kaze lashed out with a swift kick, sending Keenan flying as he slammed onto the ground.
âDonât forget that Iâm a dimwit. I might just kill anybody who speaks ill of my wife,â Kaze said.
He then walked away.
Terrified by his ruthlessness, the Quints held their tongues.
They were desperate at that point.
The only thing they could do was wait for Dallas Moneylender to come after them two days later.
The group returned to the family residence with heavy hearts.
However, several individuals stood there, waiting for them.
Thinking they were debt collectors, Master Quint went up and said, âWe have no more money but our lives to give. Take it or leave it.â
The family had given up fighting back.
âWe donât want anything. Weâre here to save your family.â
Save them?
Master Quint was shocked. âAnd you are?â
The middleâaged individual smiled.
âThe Vinlands from Chrysant City.â
