The Beggining
WRONG NUMBER, But Thanks For Calling?
20 MINUTES AFTER SCHOOL STARTED
"Sorry I'm late!" I yelled as I rushed into the classroom, bumping into someones books.
"Sorry.." I whispered to them with a slight, awkward smile.
That was my 3rd time that week I had been late for school, and it was thursday.
I shuffled towards my desk and sat down next to Ned, my best friend.
"Did you study for the test?" He asked as he put down his phone that he shouldnt have had out. Crap- there was a test?
"Uh, yeah, totally." I said with a gulp. I had been so busy that past few days, it was hard to even be in the moment without forgetting what I'm doing, when I'm doing it.
Speaking of which...
I looked up and realised the class had gotten suspiciously quiet. I looked at Ned. "Dude!" He said for the 50th time, shaking my shoulder.
"Huh?" I asked. I looked around and noticed the whole class staring at me. And the teacher, with her arms crossed, staring me down.
"Oh! Uh, 32?" I said, thinking she was asking me to answer the question on the board I barely even looked at.
My teacher looked astonished, but regained her composure. "Although that is correct-" she said towards my reply.
Ever since I had gotten bitten from that stupid spider, my minds been like 20Ã faster than usual, so taking a split second look, I already had the answer.
"That was not what I had orginally asked." She continued. I gulped.
I heard the tiniest tick of the clock and then the bell rang. I stared at Ned in shock, and he raised an eye brow at me.
When did the time go? I wasnt that late to class.
Was I?
"Everyone, enjoy your recess-" the teacher addressed the class.
"Peter-" she turned to me. "Stay behind."
Ned shrugged. "See you out on the hall, dude." He said.
Everyone grabbed their books and headed for the door. Some of my classmates giggled at me.
I nodded and sighed, and walked up to the teachers desk.
Once eveyone had left the classroom, she sighed and gave me a look.
I knew that look.
"Peter, people deal with greif differently. But...I'm concerned about..." she started.
I'd heard that speech a hundred times before. 'Blah blah, sorry for your loss, blah, we'll let you go under these circumstances, blah blah, we're here for you.'
"I'm concerned for your education." She finished.
"You have no reason to be. I'm doing fine." I said.
Eveyone expected me to be mopping around and crying every day, but I have too much responsibility for that.
"But, dealing with a loss is difficult, for anyone. But the loss of a parent...that's...grief i cant even imagine." She said.
I signed. My aunt had passed away exactly 4 months ago, and of course I was upset, but people needed me.
"Yeah well, I'm ok. Thankyou for your concern, though." I said with a smile.
The teacher hesitated to speak, but changed the subject. Slightly.
"How is it living with your uncle?" She asked.
Heh...ok...I may have given a teeny tiny white lie here and there...
"Oh, it's great." I lied.
My uncle was dead as well, but that happened ages ago.
"Great, I'm glad." She said with a smile.
I gestured to the clock. "Is there anything else you wanted to ask?"
She shook her head, so I headed to the door, but she stopped me. "Oh wait-" she said, opening her laptop.
I turned and realised what she was going to ask. "Why were you late today?"
"My alarm didnt go off." I said with my teeth showing in a smile.
"Ah," she nodded as she filled in my late attendance note. "Third time this week. Better look at getting a new clock."
She handed me the note to give to the office. "Yeah, I guess so." I laughed.
I headed out the door and walked into the hallway to see ned there waiting for me.
"Go ok?" He asked.
I showed him my office note, so we started walking in the direction to the office. "Yeah, just got an attendance note."
He nodded, then saw why i was late. "Again? Man, just ask and I'll give you one of my alarms." He offered.
"Nah, my alarm works fine. I just didnt set it." I told the truth.
We got to the office and they took my note. "Are you busy this afternoon?" Ned asked.
"Oh, sorry man, yea, I'm busy." I said.
That was kind of true, but not in the way he'd think.
He sighed. "Ok, if you say so."
"Soon man, I swear we'll hang out."
He nodded and thanked me.
I needed to figure out how to hang out with ned without him finding out every single one of my secrets.
I gave a sigh and we kept walking.
"What class do we have next?" I asked.
Ned pulled out our schedule. "You have science, and I have history."
A little light went on in my head. Science!
"Fun!" I said as we rushed off to class when the bell rang.

END OF THE SCHOOL DAY
"How was the rest of your day?" I asked ned as I yawned. We were walking down the street to neds bus stop.
He shrugged. "It was ok I guess. You seen the new girl?" He asked.
"Oh, no..." I thought if I had seen anyone new. "Is she nice?" I asked.
Ned smiled. "Yeah dude! Hot, and she has cool hair-"
"No-" I said. Ned had a tendency to go off looks. "I meant, is she nice? Like was she rude to anyone?"
"Ohh. Uh, not that I saw." He answered. I nodded. Might be cool to make a new friend.
"Oh, and heads up- that HASS assignment is due tomorow." Ned reminded me.
"Oh frick...really?" I asked. Add that to the list of things to do.
"Yeah. Actually, its due after we do that math test since Ms Burth is sick" ned explained.
Add that one, Too.
I sighed. My head was starting to hurt. I couldn't study for either tests, nor do my assignment, cause I hadnt done night patrol in a few days.
"You good man?" Ned asked. He turned to me after seeing me sigh. "Oh, uh yeah. Just tired." I laughed. He nodded.
"Oh yeah, before I forget-" ned stopped and opened his bag and pulled out his phone. "I bought a new sim card and I have a new number."
"Oh cool," I said. I took out my phone and gave it to ned to put in his number.
As we were almost at the bus stop, I heard Fast tires behind us. I turned around to see flash on a bike, speeding down the pathway.
"Homophobes!" He called out as he saw ned put in his number. He slowed down enough to throw paper at neds head.
Flash peddled off, and Ned dropped my phone.
About 2 Centimeters away from the ground, my quick reflexes went crazy and I caught it without even looking.
Ned looked impressed and confused. "Dude! Sick!!" He praised at my cool catch.
"Yeah, heh, good luck, ay?" I replied. "You finished?" I asked, pointing at my phone.
"Oh, yeah. Just give me a ring when you're bored or somthing. I'm free tonight."
I could see neds bus approach in the distance, so I said my goodbye. "Great, thanks man. See ya!"
Ned waved goodbye, and i walked off towards my alone apartment.

AT PETERS APARTMENT
I lived in the same apartment I lived in with my aunt and uncle, but now I'm just alone.
When my aunt died, I inherited all of her valuables and her money, which was surprisingly a lot.
Her will didn't mention uncle ben being dead, nor did it mention I was only 16. But, i woke up in my apartment one day and boom- a check of the money aunt May had, and an adress and key where all of her valuables where locked.
Anyway, with the school being so close to my apartment, and me needing to exercise daily, I never used any money on a car or bike, so all of the money left over, I used around $100 every month for groceries, and $250 every fortnight for rent.
And although that may seem like a lot, I've done the math. With the amount of money I have, I will be fine until I'm around 20 years old, and by then I should have a job.
So it's safe to say I'm ok for now, and no one suspects anything otherwise.
I opened my door and threw the keys on the table like I do every day.
I sighed and took off my school clothes, changing into normal comfort clothes.
I walked to my desk, where my tools were spwarled across. That morning I finished making an AI, but it needed the day to render.
Now, it should be complete!
I pressed a button, and my suit made a beep...
I'm guessing that meant it worked?
"H-hello?" I spoke. Nothing...nothing...nothing....until...
"voice scan complete. Hello, Peter Parker." It welcomed.
I stood up in a snap. It worked? It...worked. it worked!!
"Oh, uh, hi!!" I said. I was proud. That AI had taken me ages to make, and now I could connect it to my phone, suit, and more!
"Hello, sir. Did you create me?" It asked.
I smiled. "Yes, yes I did. And you dont have to call me sir!"
"Thankyou for creating me. How would you wish me to adress you?"
"Peter, is fine. Thankyou!"
After a few seconds, it responded. "Ok then, Peter. Do you have any questions?"
I had quite a few, actually. But I went with the first thing I thought of!
" what do you want your name to be?"
"Well, I quite like the name Karen. Or Faye. You choose."
Having to decide between names for an AI was defiantly hard, but I went with the one I thought suited her best. "Is karen ok?"
"Yes, karen is ok!" She replied.
"Great! Now...I'm going to go on patrol." I said.
I coded karen so that she already had information about me, so I wouldn't have to explain it.
Because, honestly, I've never really had to explain how my parents died in a plan crash, my uncle got shot, my aunt got in a car crash, I live alone in an apartment, lie to pretty much eveyone i know, and im spiderman and no one knows my identity.
So, that explains that.
"Ready to go out for a spin?" I smirked.

OUTSIDE ON PATROL
After a few minutes, karen had gotten all set up and we were looking for muggers, bullies, shooters, anyone.
But that night seemed pretty anticlimactic. "Is it always this boring?" Karen sighed.
I laughed. "You can take my word, it's really not."
'Call me if you're bored.' I remembered ned saying. I looked around.
We were on a really high building, it was around 9 o'clock, and I was bored.
It wasnt really ethical, but I thought I might as well.
"Hey karen, can you give neds new number a call, please?" I asked.
"Sure thing, Peter." She said.
One ring, two rings, three rings, and so on.
After a minute, I gave up and hung up. "So much for that idea." I muttered.
I heard light screaming coming from below me, and I looked down to see a man choking a women for her bike.
"Hang on karen. Its about to get interesting." I said. I free fell off the corner of the building, catching my self in time to land safely, just where the man wouldnt be able to see me.
I was just about to creep up and surprise the man, when my phone rang.
I could see neds number on my heads up display. "Seriously!" I grumbled.
Oops. With that, the man and women saw me. And the man had a knife.
Without me asking or telling, Karen accepted the call. "Karen-!" I began to yell.
The man began to run up to me, luckily leaving the bike and women alone, and she rode off in a hurry.
"Ned-! This is actually-" I said in a Huff as the man tried jabbing me with the knife. "Not a good time-!"
I kicked the mans leg and he toppled over onto his back.
"What? And you called me a minute ago." He said in response.
That didnt...really sound like Ned. I assumed it was because I was doing friggen mid air flips.
"Yeah, I'm sorry for that, I was free a minute ago," i said.
The man got to his feet and lunged at me, slamming me into the building.
"Wait- what are you doing?" He asked.
The man used one hand to choke me, and used the other one to slowly bring up his knife To my neck. "I'm....egh..." I struggled to say.
I could start to feel my eyes pop, and my hearing starting feeling disoriented.
"Whoever this is- are you ok?" They sounded concerned.
Whoever this is?? That was defiantly NOT Ned.
I used all my strength to head but the man before he could move his knife closer. He tumbled back and tripped over a rock on the path.
I coughed and my breathes were heavy. Breath, breath...I told myself.
"Yeah...I'm just peachy..." I coughed.
I turned around to get the mans knife, but he stood up already.
"Oh come ON!" I yelled.
I jumped up and kicked the man in the chest.
Before he could get up, I began to web him up against the floor.
"Seriously, what are you doing?" He said. Paying closer attention, I could tell he had a voice modification setting on.
"Oh I'm just, eating...a..." I looked around thinking about what to say, when I saw the man used his knife to get semi free of the webs. He went to slice my lower leg. "Knife!" I yelled.
I dodged the knife and punched him in the face.
"You're...you're eating what??" He asked.
"Oh, uh, haha I was kidding. I'm actualy playing a game. Like a really...REALLY violent game..." I lied.
"Whatever you say, kid." He said.
And then he hung up. Wow. that was really distracting.
"Karen, we need to focus on your coding. you shouldnt have picked up that quick." I said out loud in thought.
"I'm sorry, Peter. I will do better." Karen responded.
"Oh no- Karen I didnt mean it like that, it's my fault, not you-!" I TRIED to say, but instead I got immediate pain in my leg.
I looked down to see blood, and a knife stuck below my knee.
I sighed and looked at the man. I webbed him quickly and picked up the knife.
"Rude." I said in disgust.
I pulled out then knife and threw it where he couldn't get it.
I punched him harder than before, this time making him unconscious.
I webbed on top of his mouth. "Shh." I said.
Limping, I collected the knife and put it in a dumpster.
Then I swung home, making sure no one saw, went inside my window and took off my mask. I had a huge bruise where he had choked me. Great.
I took off my suit, and karen was connected to my phone and speaker again.
"Hey karen, you good?" I asked while flopping onto my bed.
"Yes, I am ok. But you need to fix that wound of your lower right knee." She reminded me.
I sighed a dramatic sigh, and grabbed a bandage to start wrapping it, when I got interrupted.
"Incoming call: Ned" karen said.
I knew it wasnt ned, so that made it weird.
I picked up out of curiosity, and he spoke before I could even get a word in.
"...are you ok?" He sighed.
