Chapter 163
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
âAllison, I trust my judgement; Dr. Dylan is a good guy. If you guys have some misunderstandings, just sort it out. Donât miss out on someone like him just because youâre mad for a moment.â
âMy mom used to tell me not to judge a personâs character based on their current behavior. Just because heâs good now doesnât mean heâll always be like that. Sweet words today might turn into heartâbreaking knives in the future.â Allison stared at Christopher, her voice clear, âMr. Flanagan, have you ever done something you regret?â
Christopher was taken aback.
Looking into Allisonâs clear eyes, he was momentarily lost for words.
After a while, he smiled and said, âIâm over fifty. Of course there have been times when things didnât go my way.â
âMr. Flanagan, I was young back then and didnât understand anything. Now Iâve grown up, and I want to know if my fatherâs and brotherâs deaths were really just accidents.â
âThat incident was over a decade ago; the culprit has already surrendered, Allison.â Christopherâs gaze shifted elsewhere, âIâm also saddened by the tragedy of your father and brother. But itâs in the past.
Whatâs the point of digging it up now?â
âRight, itâs been over a decade.â Allisonâs face remained calm, her eyes steady, âI really want to know how the murderer could have gotten away scotâfree.â
Christopherâs face changed instantly, âAllison, have you heard something?â
âNo. Iâve just been dreaming about them a lot lately. My brother was still a teenager when he died. I think my father must regret bringing him along. After all, he thought it was just a regular mission and that heâd be able to come home, have dinner, and chat with us in the evening.â
Christopher said, âYou canât control everything, Allison. I think your father wouldnât want you to be stuck in the past either.â
âIs that so? I hope my father can tell me in my dream tonight.â
With that, Allison stood up and said, âMr. Flanagan, Iâm going to leave now. You should get some rest soon too.â
Christopher nodded, watching her leave the study, then sank into the couch with a sigh. After a while, he picked up his phone and made a call âFind out which hospital and ward Grace is in.â
âMr. Flanagan, youâre not thinking of visiting her, are you? Donât let Mrs. Flanagan find out, or thereâll be hell to pay.â
Christopher let out a sigh, âItâs time to see her.â
Things have been busy at the Red Jack Club lately. When Allison deposited her salary for the month into her bank account, she was filled with hope for the future. Once she and Adrian rescue her mother, sheâll take her mom away from here to a place with beautiful scenery.
She stood by the window, looking out at the Northfield night scene, and watched the dazzling lights.
After a brief rest, she returned to the break room.
As soon as she walked in, she could hear a few people discussing.
The client Iâm handling is really generous. He ordered several bottles of topânotch red wine.â
âYour bonus this month must be nice then; Iâm so jealous. Let me tell you guys, when I went home a few days ago, my sister and I were chatting. She mentioned an interesting patient at her hospital.â
