Chapter 180
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Zachary walked down the stairs, scanned the empty living room, and couldnât find the youngsters âMiranda, where are the kids?â
Miranda answered, âTheyâre playing chess in the side roomâ
âAll right, letâs go check it outâ
They saw Penelope sitting across George in a silent battle on the chessboard as they entered the side room.
Zachary was a bit surprised. It was Penelope and George playing chess. He walked over for a closer look.
What a game!
It didnât matter who won or lost. Anyone who saw the game would know that both players were skilled.
âDad Mom, why are you here? Itâs so boring. Letâs go to the living roomâ Kamilla grabbed Mirandaâs hand, but Miranda didnât move, her eyes still fixed on the chessboard Kamilla urged, âMom!â
Zachary said. âKamilla, real gentlemen donât talk during the game.â
So Kamilla shut up Five minutes later, George put down his chess piece and said. âI lost.â
He stood up, looked at âPenelopeâ and said, âYouâre really good at chess.â
Allison politely replied. âI just got lucky.â
Kamilla frowned, âReally? Did you lose? Were you going easy on her? How could you lose to Penelope?!â
George sighed He hadnât gone easy on her.
He was so aggressive during the game, even more so than Lucian.
Zachary looked at âPenelopeâ with a hint of admiration in his eyes. âNot badâ
Allison said, âThank you for the compliment.â
Miranda suggested, âAll right, weâve played enough chess. Letâs go sit outside. Jason and Aldan will be here soon.
Kamilla was the first to express her excitement. âAidan is coming too?â
Following Lucian, Allison said, âI wonâ
Lucian stopped in his tracks, and she almost bumped into his back.
She touched her nose Lucian said, âI didnât know you could play chess.â
Allisonâs eyes darkened Thereâs so much you donât know, Lucianâ¦
âSo, now you know? She lowered her voice on purpose, imitating Penelopeâs voice. After all the years in the Flanagan family, she could imitate Penelope perfectly Lucian turned around, and suddenly he reached out-
Allison instinctively moved back.
The man took off her sunglasses, revealing the face he knew so well.
It was Penelope, no doubt about it. But there was a sense of unfamiliarity.
She didnât seem like Penelope.
Penelopeâs eyes were red; just like she said, her eyes were inflamed. They were moist and red, like a rabbitâs. The man frowned slightly Allison was prepared. If she said her eyes were inflamed, they had to look like it.
Otherwise, Lucian would recognize those eyes if she didnât put on heavy makeup.
This way, she wouldnât blow her cover.
Miranda left her phone on the desk and returned to get it. She passed by Lucian and Allison, and upon seeing Allison, she stated, âPenelope, your eyes are so inflamed.â
Allison nodded.
She had put too many eye drops, and after a little rubbing, her eyes were somewhat red and swollen.
âIâll ask the kitchen to prepare some light yet tasty dishes for you.â
âThank youâ
