Chapter 188
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
âYouâve been playing Jason, cozying up to Kamilla Your little scheme has been working pretty well.
Fresh off your breakup with Dr. Dylan, youâve already found a new shoulder to cry on.â Lucian muttered, his voice dropping low enough to only be heard by Allison. His words held warmth but only made Allison shiver, her body trembling slightly âMr Lindberg, itâs just a coincidence I didnât plan on coming to the Lindberg family, let alone ending up with Jason âMr. Lindberg if thereâs nothing else, Iâll be heading out now.â Allison lowered her head, turning to leave, but Lucianâs arm snaked around her waist. She could feel his firm grip through her dress, making her all the more aware of his presence.
She looked up, meeting his icy gaze âIn a hurry to see Jason, are we?â
Allisonâs heart skipped a beat, âNo, Iâm not.â
âI thought youâve learned to behave.â He lifted his hand to her chin, gently tilting her face upward, âAre you really as vain and greedy as the information I gathered suggests? Breaking up with Dr. Dylan only to flirt with Jason, then look at me with those innocent eyes?â
He wouldnât be fooled by her anymore Even if she was the girl who once saved him, she was no longer the innocent person he once knew.
âMr. Lindberg, I think you may have misunderstoodâ¦â Allison tried to push his hand away. His grip wasnât strong, but she couldnât break free. In her struggle, her cheeks flushed.
Just then, Kamillaâs voice came from outside the door, âAllison, Allison, why is the door closed?â
Kamilla was standing at the door, pushing against the kitchen door Was Allison not inside?
The door wouldnât budge.
Just as Kamilla was about to fetch the keys, the kitchen door opened from the inside, she was surprised to see Lucian coming out, âLucian, what are you doing in the kitchen?â
âMhmâ Lucian simply hummed in response, passing by her.
Kamilla glanced at Lucianâs retreating back and walked into the kitchen. Allison had already cleaned up all the tools, âAllison, why did Lucian come?â
Allisonâs voice was a bit hoarse, her eyes slightly withdrawn, âI donât know. Mr. Lindberg came, saw that the cherry pie wasnât ready and that you werenât here, then he left.â
On the balcony Cora watched her son with a sigh, âJason, itâs not that I dislike Allison. But she was just Dr. Dylanâs girlfriend a few days ago. You rashly brought her home. How am i supposed to explain this to your grandfather?â
âMom, havenât you always wanted me to bring a girlfriend home? I like Allison. She has broken up with Dr. Dylan. Iâve had plenty of girlfriends before and broken up with them all. Iâm pursuing Allison now.â
Cora said, âThis isnât a game, Jason. You need to be sure of your decision.â
âI am sureâ Replied Jason, âYou guys donât understand her Sheâs not what you think. Iâve been pursuing her for a long time. I started when she was a freshman. She rejected me.
Cora frowned. Who would reject her son? Not only was Jason handsome, but he also came from a wealthy family. He was the Lindberg familyâs nephew and the Brummett familyâs eldest son. And Allison was just a maid from the Flanagan family. How could she possibly reject someone like Jason?
Regardless, she wouldnât let someone of such low status become her daughterâinâlaw.
