Chapter 225
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Allison didnât dare lo venture too deep into the jungle, fearing it would land her in a whole heap of trouble.
Without human intervention, there could be snakes and bugs popping up left and right.
However, sheâd already been roaming around the jungle for hours.
She kept moving in one direction.
From the entrance of the jungle expedition to the supposed âtreasureâ, it was only a few hours away.
But there was still no one in sight, and there could only be one reason for that.
Allisonâs pupils dilated slowly.
At this point, she was deep into the jungle, well beyond the area maintained by the expedition crew.
Allisonâs fingers clenched tightly.
A cold breeze stirred behind her.
Her lips quivered, she was lost, and no matter how coolâheaded she usually was or how many times she told herself to keep calm, she couldnât keep her cool in this situation!
Could she die here?
No, she couldnât die here.
Grace was still waiting for her!
She had promised to take Grace to a beautiful, cosy place to live. Grace was still in the hospital.
She dumped all the useless stuff from her backpack, including some sunblock and a busted compass.
She had to conserve her energy.
Lucian, flashlight in hand, gazed ahead. His handsome and calm face betrayed a hint of panic as he strode forward, yelling Allisonâs name, âAllison!
Allison-â
His phone started to vibrate.
âLucian, you need to get out of there, itâs supposed to rain tonight. The situation in the jungle could go south real quick. Get out, and weâll figure out a plan.â
Lucian didnât stop; he just kept walking; his voice was urgent, âI have to find her! James, you said it yourself, itâs going to rain, and the temperature in the jungle on Pearl Island drops drastically at night. If sheâs really trapped, she might not make it.â
âCarlâs already called the search and rescue team, theyâll be here soon.â
âWhereâs Allison? Send me her locationâ
âI canât find her, her phone seems to be out of service.â
Lucianâs face changed; he clenched his jaw, ready to hang up; James rushed to say. âBe careful, and stay in touch.â
Lucian grunted in reply.
âWhat? Allison still hasnât come out!â Jason grabbed his backpack, ready to dash into the jungle right away.
*Jason! Itâs dangerous, donât go in.â Lily immediately tried to stop him, âThe search and rescue team is already in there, letâs get back, the waves will get bigger later, and the yacht wonât be able to operate!â
âNo, I have to go!â Jason pushed Lily away, took a few steps forward, and Carl followed, wiping his sweat. Mr Lindberg had already gone in. If Jason rushed in too, and something happened, as the person in charge of this project, he wouldnât be able to handle it.
*Jason, you canât go in.â
Carl did his best to stop Jason, who was both anxious and helpless, âLet go!â
Carl had two people hold Jason back, he couldnât let him go in. It was already late at night, anything could happen in the jungle. If anything went wrong, it would be unimaginable âLet me go, I need to find Allison!â Jason was extremely anxious.
âMr Lindberg is already in there, Jason, you should go back. Youâre not going to be any help here, adding one more person to the situation just increases the risk. Letâs wait for the professional rescue team.â
