Chapter 24
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
He had a hunch that the woman at the engagement party was Allison but now how could it possibly be?
This woman had approached him with a purpose and a plan. She hadnât shown up for the elective class for two weeks, but appeared on the day he gave the lecture. It was the same at the Flanagan familyâs house, continuously drawing his attention. But who wouldâve thought she would turn out to be a loose and vain kind of person Even though his drink was spiked, he could still recall bits and pieces. Last night, he wasnât out of control. Instead, after touching her body, he made an uncontrollable choice.
Thinking of this, Lucian suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze cold and profound. He reached out, abruptly pushing the documents in front of him. His slender fingers clenched, and his fist hit the table, making a dull sound.
He had really misjudged Allison!
Allison had been resting at home for a whole morning before she recovered. After lunch, she was called over by Margo.
As soon as she stepped into the villa, she was confronted by Margo. Seeing her, Margo immediately asked, âAllison, where were you last night?â
In the midst of their conversation, Margo noticed a love bite on Allisonâs fair neck, immediately seizing it like evidence. âOh my, did you go fooling around with some riffâraff? I knew you werenât as pure as you seemed. Donât forget, youâre using the identity of the young lady. If Mr. Lindberg finds out youâve been up to no good, wait and see how the lady punishes you!â
âIs that so? Guess youâll have to keep my secret then. Allison spoke, her voice gentle, but the look in her eyes was cold.
Margo was stunned that Allison dared to talk back to her.
Allison laughed and said, âYou know Iâm borrowing the young ladyâs identity. If someone finds out, the young ladyâs reputation will be damaged.â
âYouâ¦â Margo was so angry that her face turned red, but she couldnât deny that Allison was right.
In the end, she could only huff and instruct her, âCarter invited you to their house for dinner, get ready.â
Allisonâs breath hitched.
She had to face that man again so soon? But she wasnât ready yet!
âWhat are you waiting for? Go!â Margo threw a set of Penelopeâs clothes at her.
After Allison left, Margo went to the small garden and told Leah about her discovery. âMadam, Allison went out with a man last night and didnât come back all night. I just scolded her a bit, but she dared to threaten me with the young ladyâs reputation.â
âOh?â Leah furrowed her brows.
She didnât like Allison, but Allison always seemed so docile and not the type to do such things.
Margo went on to embellish the story, âItâs true, I saw love bites all over her. Who knows what type of man she was with?â
Leah FlanaganâEaden huffed, âA maidâs daughter is always lowly!â
Just like her shameless mother!
Otherwise, how could Christopher be fooled by that woman?
Twentyâthree years ago, Grace shamelessly tried to latch onto Christopher; thankfully, she found out early.
She glanced at Margo, âTell the hospital not to give Grace the good medicine, as long as sheâs alive.
Itâs a waste to use expensive medication every dayâ
âI understand, but what about the master?â
âJust be careful not to let him find out.â Leah didnât care about this. Even if he found out, so what?
She was just an ordinary maid.
This time, the Lindberg familyâs invitation was very formal. It was Penelopeâs first time visiting a family like the Lindbergs. Even though Leah FlanaganâEaden didnât want Allison to replace Penelope, she didnât dare be careless. The clothes prepared for Allison fit perfectly but were totally Penelopeâs style.
Allison put on heavy makeup again, covering the love bite on her neck with a thick concealer, and then she wore the agate necklace Daisy gave her for her birthday.
The necklace had a warm luster, and it felt cool when she wore it. The string was a bit long, so after she put it on, it went directly into the top of her dress.
Before leaving. Allison took a deep breath.
She had to face him, even if he despised her
