Chapter 259
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
For next weekâs family feast, Penelope was supposed to wear this necklace, and she was sweating bullets about getting caught by others. So, she went to Allisonâs former pad, only to find it deserted with almost all belongings gone.
Just in time, Margo found out about Allisonâs current crib âMs. Flanagan, Allisonâs shacked up at the Blue Mountain Estate now.â
âBlue Mountain Estate?â After a quick Google, Penelope found out it was a mid-range apartment complex. She couldnât believe Allison could afford such a place.
Margo chimed in, âMaybe Mr. Brummettâs helping her out. Sheâs got him wrapped around her finger, and sheâs trying to do the same with Mr. Lindberg. Sheâs playing Mr. Brummett while stirring up trouble between you and Mr. Lindbergâ
Pursing her lips, Penelope called for Linda.
Two minutes later, in the bedroom With her head bowed, Linda muttered, âMs. Flanagan, I donât know squat.â
âIn the Flanagan family, you and Allison are thick as thieves. I havenât even asked yet, and youâre claiming ignorance? Did you ever hear Allison mention anything about the necklace?â
âThe necklace.â Linda mused, âNopeâ
âAre you sure? Think hard, Linda.â Seeing Lindaâs puzzled face, Penelope handed her a pen and a stack of paper from her purse, âReally sure youâve never heard of it?â
âWell, I might have seen on agate necklace when I borrowed her laptop at her place once âAgate?â Penelope asked anxiously, âWhat was it like? Give me the deets!â
âJust a basic agate necklaceâ
Seeing that she couldnât squeeze any more info, Penelope dismissed Linda. But as Linda was about to step out, Penelope stopped her, handing her a brand-new Chanel bag from the couch. Linda was taken aback.
She was a maid and had never experienced such luxury Penelope chuckled, âLinda, youâre a servant of the Flanagan family, consider this bag a giftâ
Linda stuttered, waving her hands about, but the greed in her eyes gave her away. âThis L Margo stepped in, âTake it, Linda. Itâs a gift from Ms. Flanagan. Just remember to tell the truth if she asks you anything in the future.â
Linda got the message, clutching the bag, her heart racing. As she held the luxury bag, she couldnât help but marvel at its quality. It was her first time owning something so lavish.
âMs. Flanagan, actuallyâ¦
Biting her lip, Linda didnât want to rat out Allison, but money talked and everything else walked. Plus, she had always been a little green-eyed monster where Allison was concerned.
âMs. Flanagan, I once saw Allison and Mr. Lindberg on the balcony. The door was closed, and I didnât know what they were doing. When Allison came out, her face was flushed, and Mr. Lindbergâs lip was busted.â
That said it all, and Penelopeâs face turned pale.
âWhen was this?â
âThat was two months ago when Lucian and Carter visited the Lindberg family.â
That was water under the bridge.
âDamn it!â Unable to control her rage. Penelope hurled her mug to the floor. Linda jumped back in fear.
Margo told Linda to take a hike, then helped Penelope sit down, âMs. Flanagan, you gotta keep your cool. Think about the bun in the oven.â
Mentioning the baby only made Penelope more furious. If the baby was Lucianâs, she would be fine, but the truth was far from it.
In five months, if Lucian hadnât agreed to marry her by then and the baby was born not to be his through a DNA test, she would be out of luck.
âMargo, youâre gonna accompany me to Blue Mountain Estate tomorrow. III get that necklace back by hook or by crook.â
