Chapter 32
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Lucian suddenly felt a wave of irritation, and his brow furrowed tightly.
His eyes lingered on the photo for a few seconds, then he crumpled up the two pictures and tossed thern into the trash can.
He was certain that such a woman couldnât possibly be the kindâhearted girl who had saved his life.
In the hospital, Penelopeâs phone went unanswered again. The call was hung up, and Allison was left in a daze.
On the incoming call display were all Lucianâs missed calls, but she had no idea how to face him, especially when that man had clearly expressed his dislike for her.
âMs. Zimmer.â Dr. Dylan approached, his expression serious.
Allison quickly turned to him. âDr. Dylan, how is it going?â
Dr. Dylan slowly shook his head, his voice filled with regret. âYou and your motherâs kidneys arenât a match.â
âHow can that be?â Allison bit her lip tightly, her head spinning.
Dr. Dylan immediately tried to comfort her, âEven relatives with blood ties can have incompatible types.
Ms. Zimmer, try not to worry too much.â
She could try not to worry, but could her mother afford to wait? At this point, Grace had gone for further testing and hadnât returned yet.
Allison returned to the ward as if she were in a trance, not expecting Leah FlanaganâEaden to be there.
Before she could say anything, Leah FlanaganâEaden harshly slapped her.
âAllison! How dare you ignore Lucianâs calls?â
She clenched her lips, not saying a word, her cheek stinging.
Leah FlanaganâEaden signaled the two people she brought. They grabbed Allison, and someone took out makeup to start putting it on her.
As Allison struggled, she heard Leah FlanaganâEaden coldly say. âLucianâs mother just had eye surgery and wants to see you. I told him I would personally take you to the hospital. Since youâre here, just play your role obediently. If you screw up Penelopeâs marriage, donât expect your mother to have any good days!â
Hearing this, her struggle stopped, and her eyes filled with tears, but she held back from crying out.
All her defiance crumbled at that moment; she was like a puppet, allowing them to manipulate her.
Until her makeup and hair were done, she was completely transformed into âPenelopeâ and taken to the hospital entrance.
Soon, Lucianâs car stopped beside her. He got out, looked at âPenelopeâ, whose eyes were a bit swollen, and couldnât help but frown, âWhy were you crying?â
âNo, just got some dust in my eyes.â She turned around, indifferently ignoring his outstretched hand.
Lucianâs hand in midâair tightened a bit; he always felt like âPenelopeâ seemed to be angry.
He sighed, walked to her side, and whispered comfortingly, âIâm sorry, time was tight. I couldnât reach you, so I called the Flanagan. household.â
Was he explaining?
Allison was taken aback, and then a mocking smile appeared on her lips.
He actually liked Penelope. He, with all his power, was actually coaxing a woman so gently.
The elevator stopped on the third floor, and as the crowd exchanged glances, Allisonâs gaze suddenly froze.
She saw Grace, with her full head of white hair, walking unsteadily. She looked very thin, and when she saw Allison, she visibly froze.
