Chapter 33
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Graceâs lips were pale; she gently moved them as her eyes sparkled, âPenelope⦠oh, no, Ms.
Flanagan, what brings you to the hospital?â Allison looked at her mother, she had been busy playing âPenelopeâ these past few days, finally finding the time to visit her mother today. But as soon as she arrived at the hospital, she was informed that her mother had gone for a check-up, and before she could see her, she was called by Leah Flanagan-Eaden to play Penelope.
After not seeing her for a few days, Grace seemed to have lost a lot of weight. Seeing this, Allisonâs eyes filled with tears, but hearing her mother call her âPenelopeâ, she held thern back.
âUh, Iâm here to see you.â
No matter how hard Allison tried, she couldnât boss her mother around like Penelope, her tone became a bit cold, and she stopped looking at Grace.
Grace didnât notice anything; she was happy to see Penelope, her face bearing a smile, then her gaze fell on Lucian, âMs. Flanagan, who is this?â
Allisonâs lips trembled slightly, her fingers gripping tightly, âThis is my fiancé.â
âOh, right, I saw it in the news; itâs Mr. Lindberg, isnât it? Thatâs nice.â Grace sincerely expressed her happiness.
Then she mumbled something under her breath, but because they were in a small elevator, it could be clearly heard, âIf only Allison could have such happiness.â
Hearing this, Allison could hardly control her tears. She gripped her palm tightly, hoping the pain would help her hold back.
Lucianâs gaze fell on Grace, but only for a second before he looked away.
When the elevator doors opened, Grace said goodbye to âPenelopeâ.
Allisonâs face was always indifferent, and she didnât even dare to look at Graceâs back. At this mo ment, she wanted to rush out, help Grace back to her room, and take good care of her.
The emotions she tried so hard to suppress were still noticed by Lucian.
âWhatâs the matter?â He asked.
Allison tried to hide it; she forced a smile and said, âNothing; sheâs Allisonâs mother, I look a lot like Allison, so⦠sometimes Allisonâs mom gets us mixed up.â
Allison looked up, bumping into the manâs probing gaze.
She suddenly felt guilty, but if she looked down, it would be like admitting her guilt; wouldnât that be outing herself?
Allison steeled herself and said, âAunt Grace is very kind to me; itâs saddening to see her ill.â
âUh-huh.â Lucian replied indifferently.
When the elevator doors opened again, the man walked out.
Allison breathed a sigh of relief but felt a bit lost.
He must really dislike me, right? So he doesnât even want to talk about Allison.
What Allison didnât know was that Lucian was thinking of her face.
This was the first time Lucian really looked at Penelope. They did look similar, but their bone structures were different.
Before, he had never noticed these things.
Every time he was with Penelope, he would think of Allison. Especially that night at the Willowbrook College anniversary when Allison was in his arms and calling his name.
He was indeed drugged, but he didnât completely lose his memory.
It wasnât their first time. Seeing Allisonâs vanity, he didnât want to dig deeper, but he felt disgusted.
Sometimes, he would also mistake people.
He originally thought Allison was quite interesting, but she drugged him, used her similar looks to Penelope, and made him unable to distinguish them in his confused state.
He, who had been through countless things, was actually cheated by such an unethical woman.
What a joke!
