Chapter 338
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
âLuca, Mr. Lindberg, please wait up.â Jessica saw Lucian heading into the elevator and quickly chased after him.
They headed to the underground parking lot. Lucian felt increasingly off, as if a fire was burning inside him. He lightly bit his lip as he got into his car.
Jessica quickly followed, âMr. Lindberg, you seem drunk. Let me drive you home.â
Usually, it was the gentleman who offered to take the lady home. But now, Jessica wanted to spend a few extra minutes with him, so she offered to take him home late at night. Usually, Jessica might think this was inappropriate, but Lucian was different to her.
He was the man she had been having a crush on |
The car zoomed down the road.
Lucian wasnât actually drunk. He never got this uncomfortable from just a single drink. Was there something wrong with the drink? But he quickly dismissed that suspicion. Everyoneâs drink came from the same bottle. James and the others also drank from the same bottle.
Finally, the car stopped in front of Blue Mountain Estate.
Lucian wasnât sure why he ended up here.
Allison changed her clothes and was ready to take a taxi home, but before the taxi arrived, she ran into Moss. Moss was a driver for SoberWay, which had a partnership with the Red Jack Club.
âAllison, let me give you a ride. Moss said.
Allison and Moss were friends. Usually, if one of Allisonâs guests got drunk, she would call Moss to come help with a few friends Thanked to his frequent designated driving gigs for the rich, Moss made a decent living. He was very grateful to her.
Allison smiled, âThank you.â
âAllison, you live in Blue Mountain Estate? The rent here must not be cheap.â Moss said.
Allison replied a friendâs house. He rents it to me for a song.â
âItâs really convenient here. Youâve got a good friend. I live in Evergreen Valley. Itâs all old buildings.â
Moss said.
Evergreen Valley was a poor old district in Northfield. Over the past 30 years, Northfield had been expanding south, and Evergreen Valley had become increasingly rundown. The most bustling area in Northfield now was where they were.
At this hour, the roads were almost empty Moss drove smoothly and fast. In twenty minutes, they arrived at Blue Mountain Estate.
Allison got out of the car. Thanks, Iâll treat you to a meal somedayâ
âDonât mention it.â Moss looked at Allisons face and suddenly blushed. Seeing Allison about to leave, he quickly called out, âAllison.â
Allison looked at him.
Moss pulled out a bottle of peach-flavored soda and offered it to her, âI bought this at a convenience store this morning. Girls should all like this.â
Allison glanced at it, âThank you.â
Before Allison could walk into the Blue Mountain Estate, her phone started ringing. She picked it up and looked at the caller ID. It was Lucian. Why was he calling her so late?
Hesitating for a moment, she finally answered.
âWalk backwards.â Lucian said.
Allison thought she heard wrong, âWhat?â
She turned around, âWhat did you say?â
On the other end of the call, a deep male voice said, âWalk back a few steps.â
Although Allison didnât understand his intentions, she walked back as he instructed. Suddenly, she saw a luxury black sedan parked on the side of the road. Wasnt thar Lucianâs car?
Why was Lucian here?
The voice on the phone rang out again, âCome over.â
