Chapter 362
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
A few knocks echoed on the door. Then, the assistant shuffled over to open it. Some folks outside seemed to be chit-chatting. Turning to Jennifer, the assistant announced, âJennifer, Mr. Austin is here.â
Jennifer nodded, sipping her coffee. âShow him in.â
Mr. Austin entered, and a young girl trailed behind him.
Jennifer, a long time buddy of Mr. Austin, stood up. As he approached, Mr. Austin said, âHope Iâm not interrupting anything.â His gaze landed on Aaron, recognizing him instantly. âYou must be Aaron.â
Aaron nodded in response. âHello, Mr. Austin.â
He walked up and shook hands with Mr. Austin. An actor like Aaron, with both talent and popularity, was a rare breed in show biz. Mr. Austin held him in high regard. After some small talk, Mr. Austinâs attention drifted to the young girl standing behind Aaron. In fact, he had noticed her the moment he stepped in. She had a pure, hazy charm as if veiled in a soft mist. Her features were beautiful, her aura unique, and she was certainly eye-catching.
He was sure she wasnât a student from their school because he wouldâve noticed her if she was.
Seeing her with Aaron, he guessed she mustâve been Aaronâs friend.
Aaron, noticing the girl Mr. Austin had brought in, understood that Mr. Austin was here to make a recommendation. So, he turned to Jennifer and said, âMr. Austin, Allison and I wonât hang around here and bother you guys anymore. Weâll head out and leave you guys to chat.â
Allison chimed in, âGoodbye, Jenniferâ
Jennifer nodded. âMm-hmm.â
Once Allison and Aaron had left, she turned her attention to the girl behind Mr. Austin. She looked about Allisonâs age, had an innocent face, and a youthful energy about her. Her features were gorgeous, her dress sense tasteful. But beautiful girls were a dime a dozen in Hollywood; she wasnât particularly a standout Jennifer looked at Mr. Austin. âAustin, take a seat. Itâs been a while.â
Mr. Austin chuckled âYep, Iâve heard youâre prepping for a new movie. Howâs that coming along?â
âNot bad, had a few hiccups, but itâs all sorted out. Austin, you didnât come here just to ask about my movie, did you? Introduce your friend to me.â
âThis is Mandy, the top student in our acting department. Pride colored Mr. Austinâs words.
Mandy was a bit nervous, standing in front of Jennifer. âHello, Jennifer.â
Jennifer nodded, gesturing for the assistant to come over. The assistant promptly served two cups of coffee. Mr. Austin took a sip. âYou can give her a try, sheâs pretty darn good among her peers.â
Jennifer nodded, giving Mandy a scenario to act out. Mandy performed swiftly, and Jennifer chuckled.
âNot bad.â
A smile spread across Mandyâs face, but Mr. Austin knew Jennifer too well. Her lukewarm response meant she wasnât impressed and was just saying this for the sake of him. He said to Mandy, âMandy, why donât you step outside for a bit? Jennifer and I need to talk.â
âOkay.â Mandy nodded, a hint of unease creeping into her heart. Was her performance not good enough? She was at the top of her class, always praised by her teacher for her vibrant and spirited performances. She was skilled at using various techniques, and every subtle movement came off as natural and real.
Despite her confusion, she didnât interrupt Mr. Austin and Jenniferâs conversation. She stepped out of the lounge, clutching her hands lightly. She would sneak glances at the room, unable to see what was happening inside. Looking around, she found herself alone, so, she decided to press her ear against the door, trying to eavesdrop on their conversation. Sadly, she couldnât hear a thing.
