Chapter 366
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Itâd been eight months, and aside from checking in on the kid every once in a while, Lucian hadnât made any moves to meet up with Penelope. Likewise, the Lindbergs were mostly concerned with the bun in Penelopeâs oven.
Miranda mightâve looked sweet and approachable, but she was really playing the game every step of the way. Penelope tried to hash out wedding plans with Miranda and Cora multiple times, but they wouldnât bite. They said it was a young peopleâs thing and they should sort it out themselves.
Leah got up. âI need a lift. Iâm heading to the Red Jack Club.â
Margo responded instantly, âGot it.â
Wherever Leah went, Margo followed: She dragged her lame leg and her chubby waist behind Leah.
Leah seemed a bit impatient. âJust chill at home.â She glances at the maid cleaning the study. âLinda, youâre with me.â
Linda stood looking at the cleaning tools in her hand, then at Margo, and handed the tools over to her.
Margo took them, reminding her, âLinda, you gotta look after the lady.â
Linda was a bit pissed at Margo. Did she really need to be told that? Even though Margo was also a servant, she was the housekeeper with four maids under her. She never did the heavy lifting and was always bossing the others around, acting like she owned the place. Linda and the other maids didnât dare to voice their resentment, but they looked down on Margo.
Red Jack Club.
Leah stepped out of the elevator and headed straight for Serenaâs office. Linda trailed behind until they reached the managerâs office. Leah said to her, âFind Penelope, and tell her to get home early.*
Linda nodded.
Leah strode into Serenaâs office without knocking. Linda glanced at the office number, thinking Leah was there to stir up trouble, so she texted Allison to give her a heads-up. But it turned out Leah was there to see the manager.
She felt a bit guilty about Allison because of past events. Grace, who used to be the housekeeper for the Flanagans, treated her well. She was gentle and never harsh on the help. Linda and Allison went way back, and they were buddies at the Flanagans. She once leaked Allisonâs new address to Penelope, which led to Penelope stealing Allisonâs pendant, and she had felt guilty ever since.
Serena wasnât in her office; she was dealing with a situation in a private room. Tina accidentally spilled wine on a rich ladyâs high heels. The lady was pissed, slapped Tina a few times, and demanded compensation. Just as things were at a standstill, she got a call from her assistant. Leah was in her office, waiting for her.
Serena was getting a headache. She hadnât sorted out this problem, and now Leah showed up. She knew exactly why Leah was here. Wasnât it all about Allison?
Allison was really lucky. That night, she had Hal drug James, but surprisingly everything went smoothly.
Serena had expected some kind of incident at the Red Jack Club and planned to use it as an excuse to fire Allison! But everything had been hunky dory these past few days.
Hal was so confident that everything would go well. He delivered James to the hotel, and Allison too, and then nothing?!
Even though the plan failed, Serena pulled some strings and got Halâs brother out of the police station.
After all, Hal mightâve been a bit of a screw-up, but she would need his help in the future.
She stood at the entrance of the private room, feeling a headache coming on, and made a call to Leah.
âMrs. Flanaganâ¦
