Chapter 370
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Tina said, âI donât know the specifics either. All I know is that someone spiked the bottle of wine, and the drug was specially concocted. Thatâs about it. Oh yeah, Serena was dealing with a guy named Hal at the time. Heâs a regular in the underground fight ring.â
1 see. But why are you telling me all this now, Tina?â Why would Tina suddenly spill the beans?
Tina clenched her fists. âWhatever. Believe it or not. Iâm not helping Serena anymore. I know her true colors. Iâve worked under her for three years. Every time thereâs a problem, she throws someone else under the bus, only looking out for herself.â
She envied Allison. She didnât have Allisonâs stunning beauty, her perfect figure, or her good luck, and working for Sarah was a breeze compared to Serena. She let out a sigh. âAllison, youâre lucky. You might not know this, but a lot of us envy you.â
On Wednesday, Allison arrived at Stellarius Tower on time.
Jenniferâs class was only three hours in the morning. Allison took diligent notes. At the end of the class, she stretched her shoulders and got ready to leave. Even though it was only a short three hours, she learned a lot.
She didnât expect to bump into Mandy here. Mandy saw her too, and, noticing the notebook in her hand, said, âWriting all this down is pointless, and so is memorizing it. You need to turn it into your acting skills.â
âThanks for the tip.â Allison felt the provocation from Mandy, so she just responded lightly, slung her backpack over her shoulder, and prepared to leave.
Mandy was irked. She felt like Allison was treating her like thin air. âI know weâre competing for the same role in Day Zero. But I donât consider you as my competitor. This movie has been in the works by Ms. Jennifer for three years. The script was written by a top-notch sci-fi novelist. Ms. Jennifer hopes this film will be the first big domestic sci-fi hit. Iâm confident that I can beat you and get this role.â
Allison stopped. She did not expect Mandy to see her as competition.
âSorry, but I donât see you as my competitor.â She turned and looked at Mandy. âYouâre Mandy, right? I suggest you use the energy youâre putting into viewing me as a competitor to improve your acting skills.
Maybe then youâll see some breakthroughs, instead of daydreamingâ
âYou!â Mandy was at a loss for words.
Allison left Stellarius Tower. She had classes in the afternoon and planned to grab a bite to eat.
She found a restaurant and ordered a bowl of pho. As she lowered her head to look at her notes, her phone rang. It was a call from Grace.
âMom, whatâsâ¦
Before she could finish, a stranger spoke on the other end of the line, âAre you this ladyâs daughter?
She suddenly fainted on the roadside. You should get here quick.â
Allison turned pale. She rushed to the scene as fast as she could. By the time she arrived, an ambulance was already there. She walked briskly towards the crowd and saw Grace lying pale on the ground. The paramedics were providing immediate medical attention and lifting her onto the stretcher Allison rushed up. âIâm her daughter!â
She got into the ambulance and answered the doctorâs questions about her motherâs condition. She watched the doctor take various emergency measures. The ambulance raced to the hospital, where Grace was taken to the emergency room.
Allison felt a chill down her spine. She leaned against the wall, praying in her heart.
An hour later.
