Chapter 376
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
The waiter looked a bit surprised. âYouâre too kind, miss.â
Allison changed into her new outfit, a canary yellow maxi dress covered in hand-embroidered butterflies with lace patches at the hem. She stood in front of the mirror, twirling around, making the embroidered butterflies look as if they would take flight from the dress.
The yellow dress shone even brighter against her delicate skin.
Her face was bare and makeup-free, yet the complex dress didnât seem overly formal.
Her phone began to vibrate in her bag.
Allison went to get it, glanced at the battery life â 20%, and answered the call, âHello?â
âAwake yet?â came Lucianâs deep, sexy voice from the other end.
âYep, just woke up.â
âEaten?â
âNot yet, about to.â
âThe dress I sent you, you tried it on?â
âI did.â Allison paused for a moment. âThank you, itâs beautiful.â
âYou like it?â
âI do.â
âIf you like it, send me a picture.â
âSure.â
After replying, Allison opened the camera and took a photo, intending to send it to Lucian.
But she couldnât find his WhatsApp after searching her contacts. She realized she hadnât added him on WhatsApp. She was considering whether to send him the picture via text message when her phone suddenly vibrated. She accidentally sent the picture.
Allison immediately felt awkward and hurriedly tried to delete the picture. She accidentally sent it to Aaron?
Oh my God!
Allison quickly deleted the picture, letting out a sigh of relief. Then she texted Lucian, [Mr. Lindberg, I donât have your WhatsApp.]
The reply came, [Call me Lucian from now on.]
Allisonâs eyelashes fluttered as she quietly repeated, [Lucian.]
Then, the man sent a string of numbers his WhatsApp number.
Allison copied his WhatsApp number, found him, and sent him the picture. His profile picture was Lucky, and his username was a string of letters.
The next second, her phone vibrated, but it wasnât a reply from Lucian. It wasâ¦
A reply from Aaron, [Beautiful.]
Allison inhaled sharply. No way, had he seen it even though she deleted it in time?
No way! This was so embarrassing!
A few minutes later, Allison finally replied to Aaron, (Sorry, another friend wanted to see the dress so I took a picture to send him, I didnât mean to send it to the wrong person⦠really sorry.]
Aaron replied, [The dress is gorgeous, and so are you. This color suits you]
His reply was straightforward and natural.
Allison responded, [Thanks for the compliment, Aaron.]
After grabbing a bite, she left the hotel and went home.
Grace was knitting a scarf on the couch. She didnât ask Allison where she was last night. Allison often had to work late and stay overnight in the office, so Grace was used to it.
âYouâre back, have you had breakfast? Thereâs food in the pot, Iâll get you some.â
Iâve already eaten, Mom, have you taken your medicine?â
âI took it, a long time ago.â Grace sat on the couch with a smile. âI bought some yarn. Which color do you think is good, how about this light blue? Itâs going to get cold soon.â
âI think theyâre all nice.â
Grace looked at Allisonâs dress. âWhen did you buy this dress? Itâs beautiful. You should dress up more, donât always wear plain clothes. Bright-colored clothing is prettier. Donât worry about the money.
Get some nice clothes for yourself.â
âAlright, Iâll keep that in mind.â Allison sat next to Grace, taking her hand, and leaning on her shoulder, âMom, as long as youâre healthy, thatâs all I wish for. I just want you to be healthy and happyâ
Grace let out a soft sigh, stroking Allisonâs hair. âI want you to be healthy and happy too.â
She owed Allison too much. Allison shouldered most of the pressure alone.
Allison had been through a lot growing up Watching this girl grow into a woman, made Graceâs eyes fill with infinite guilt.
