Chapter 4
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
âWhy arenât you wearing a mask!â
Penelope shouted angrily at Allison. She couldnât stand the sight of her lowly servant having a face similar to hers. She wished she could rip Allisonâs face apart!â
Allison clenched her fists tightly, her hands trembling slightly, but in the end, she let go.
She was relieved that the butler didnât find out about it. Otherwise, both she and her mother would be kicked out of the Flanagan family, and her motherâs illness would become incurable.
âIf I see you again, I swear Iâll scratch your face!â Penelope threatened fiercely. It was infuriating that Allison, a servant who didnât even care about her skin, had a more delicate face than hers, despite her using expensive skincare products every day!
And Allison was also the woman who spent the night with Lucian! This lowly creature was a curse!
Penelope glared at Allison. Her eyes were filled with disgust, like a snake wanting to devour her.
Suddenly, Penelopeâs phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, her face immediately softened. As she answered the phone, she walked upstairs, her voice sweet, âLucian, Iâm still awakeâ¦â
Only then did Allison breathe a sigh of relief. She quickly fled home. Was Lucianâs call a lifeline indirectly saving her? Otherwise, Penelope would continue ranting at her.
Allisonâs phone rang out of the blue. It was her good friend Daisy.
âAllison, why did you take so long to answer your phone? Iâve been calling you several times.â
She took a deep breath and replied softly, âSorry, didnât hear it. Whatâs up?â
âYour birthday is the day after tomorrow! Letâs skip class and have fun. You must have a joyful birthday.
Itâs only once a year!â
Allison laughed. She had almost forgotten about her birthday due to caring for her mother. It was heartwarming that Daisy remembered.
âDaisy, thank you.â
âNo need to thank me, Iâve prepared a gift for you.â
A gift?
Allison was touched. In this world, only her mother and Daisy remembered her birthday.
After chatting with Daisy for a while, she hung up the phone, rummaged through her bag, and found an agate necklace. She paused.
The necklace was flawless, with a cloud carving on the agate. It was understated yet luxurious.
When did Daisy slip it in? She didnât notice at all. Allison hesitated for a moment, then texted Daisy. [I found the gift. I love it. Thank you, Daisy.]
After putting down her phone, Allison hung the necklace around her neck. She didnât know much about jewelry, but the agate on the necklace was clean and had no impurities.
It must have been expensive..
After thinking for a while, she tucked the necklace into her clothes, feeling much safer. The agate had a warm and smooth touch. She loved it.
The next day, after the morning classes at Willowbrook College, Allison rushed out of school.
The Lindbergs were coming for lunch, and Margo had warned her in a weird tone not to be late, or she and her mother would be kicked out of the Flanagan family.
As soon as she stepped out of the school gate, a red sports car screeched to a halt next to her.
