“What’s the deal? Have you contacted Sadie? Why isn’t she here yet?”

The agreed time was already half an hour past, and the assistant director was getting antsy.

Someone quickly pulled out his phone and made a call. After he hung up, he hurriedly informed the assistant director, “She’s on her way. Sadie says she’ll be here soon. She hopes we can wait a bit longer. There’s some traffic on the way.”

The assistant director had a background in photography and was around thirty–four or thirty–five years old. He had long hair and exuded an artistic aura. Seeing that Mr. Simonds was not in a good mood, the assistant said, “Mr. Simonds, I’ll go rush Sadie.

Don’t worry, it will be okay soon.” Mr. Simonds just waved his hand dismissively.

Allison was getting her makeup done on the side, with the makeup artist styling her hair. “Allison, your hair is so well taken care of.”

Allison laughed, “It’s just because I’m young.”

Mia sat across from Allison. According to the usual schedule, they should have already finished work, but the female lead hadn’t arrived yet, so they couldn’t leave. There were still three crucial scenes left to film.

Mia sat across from Allison and said, “I knew Sadie would be late, just as I thought.”

“Allison, your phone has been ringing. It’s Mr. Lindberg, do y O you want to pick it up?”

Allison nodded, knowing that Lucian must be getting impatient.

A young girl who was around the same age as Allison handed her the phone. This was Allison’s assistant, Lola, who was sent by Patty.

Allison answered the call, “Hello.” She apologized, “I might have to wait a bit longer here. We still haven’t finished shooting for the day.”

The man asked, “How many scenes are left?”

“Three.” Allison rubbed her forehead, “How about we take a raincheck tonight. I’ll treat you to dinner as an apology some other time. I might be filming till late.”

“Where are you now?”

“I’m at the library downtown.”

After hanging up, Allison handed the phone back to Lola.

Mia asked, “Is he your boyfriend?”

Allison corrected her, “Just a friend.”

Mia, “Isn’t it the same? But Allison, I heard that Epic Entertainment is very strict with their artists, all friends of the opposite sex have to be reported. Aren’t you afraid of your manager finding out you’re in contact with a friend of the opposite sex like this?”

Allison smiled, “My manager should know.”

“Who’s your manager? You’ve been filming here for a few days and I haven’t seen her.”

“Patty.”

Mia was surprised, “What, Patty?”

The assistant behind Mia also exclaimed, “The Vice President of Epic Entertainment, Patty?”

Allison wasn’t interested in such things, so she didn’t know. The reason she signed with Epic Entertainment was because it was a subsidiary of Lindberg Corporation. Lucian had provided her with resources, and it was a fair exchange.

Every year, Epic Entertainment invested 1 billion in film and television projects.

Mia said, “Patty is one of these top five managers. Besides the strength of Epic Entertainment itself, she is also very competent. I didn’t expect that you would be her artist.”

Mia’s assistant asked, “I heard that Patty is very strict with the company’s new artists, is that true?”

Before Allison could answer, Mia cut in, “You’re too curious. Just because Patty is Allison’s manager doesn’t mean Patty would personally manage her.”

If Patty was personally managing her, why would she give Allison a minor role? Like Sadie, she was also a new artist at Epic Entertainment, but she got the lead female role in Cathy’s drama.

Mia sighed, Allison seemed like the kind of actress who had looks and charm, but lacked resources and was destined to be buried in the entertainment industry.
