Chapter 417
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
âMr. Simonds, this is the coffee Allison got for everyone.â
Mr. Simonds took the coffee and nodded. They had been shooting all day, and should have wrapped up earlier. Everyone was dead tired and running on empty. A cup of coffee was just the pickâmeâup they needed. He took a sip and asked, âAllison?â
The assistant replied, âThe one playing Olivi. Sheâs with Epic Entertainment.â
Mr. Simonds shot the assistant a look, âIâve been working with her for a week now, how could I not know?â He lifted his head and looked at the girl sitting in the distance with Mia. She was gentle and serene, with a delicate and beautiful face that was very captivating.
Mr. Simondsâ gaze lingered on her for a good 20 seconds before he looked away. The last time he gazed at an actress like this was when he was looking at a particularly popular big celebrity.
âPretty good.â
The assistant thought he had misheard, âWhat?â
Mr. Simonds repeated, âI didnât expect a company like Epic Entertainment to have decent talent.â
The assistant didnât expect the blunt Mr. Simonds to give such high praise to Allison. But Allison was indeed outstanding. The assistant took a sip of his coffee, amongst all the actors, only Allison had offered to get them coffee.
She was always on time, never flubbed her lines, and she even knew her coâstarâs lines by heart.
Mr. Simonds sipped his coffee, finding it quite invigorating and effective at alleviating fatigue. He reminisced about his initial impression of Allison. The first time he saw her, she entered the set without any assistants or staff by her side. She was just carrying bag with a water bottle, an umbrella, a small fan, and some odds and ends in it. She didnât even have her script with her.
a While the other actors were memorizing their lines, she was on her phone. He was a bit disdainful, thinking nonâprofessionals were just unprofessional. She couldnât really think acting was as simple as posing for a magazine, could she? Just needing a pretty face.
But when they actually started filming, he was surprised. Because Allison had already memorized the script, even her coâstarâs lines. That was when he changed his view of her.
He felt regret that such a talented actress was not being properly utilized at Epic Entertainment. They only offered her a supporting role. The entertainment industry was complex; being pretty and talented didnât mean anything without a powerful backing. Like Allison, no matter how pretty and talented she was, without a solid backing, she was stuck playing minor roles in a large agency.
Mr. Simonds shook his head with a sigh.
Allison was reading, unaware that she was seen by the director and her coâstars as a talented and beautiful actress who lacked a powerful backing and was stuck playing supporting roles.
âAllison, your phone is ringing, Patty is calling.â Lola handed Allison her phone.
Allison took it and said, âHello, Patty.â
Patty asked, âAre you still on set?â
âYep.â
âI heard Sadie is late.â
Allison confirmed, âYeah, she hasnât arrived yet, itâs beenâ¦â she glanced at her watch, âSheâs 58 minutes late.â
Patty on the other end said, âIs she wasting your time? If you need to leave, just go. Iâll explain to the crew.â
Allison shrugged and sighed. Time had indeed been wasted, but she had already requested time off from Mr. Lindberg, so it should be fine. âSadie should be here soon, I heard itâs because of traffic. I donât have anything else to do, the other actors and crew are waiting too, so Iâll wait a bit longer.â
âOkay, call me if you need anything.â Patty was about to hang up when she remembered something, âWell, by the way, has Charlie contacted you recently?â
Charlie? Wasnât he Penelopeâs agent?
