Chapter 421
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Allison jogged a short distance and arrived at a black Maybach car. She gently tapped on the car window, and the window rolled down, revealing the manâs face.
She opened the door, âWhat brought you here? Didnât I text you that I was busy tonightâ¦â
Stepping into the car, a warm gust enveloped her, and Allison instantly felt at ease. She buckled up and spotted a cup of coffee in the holder, âYou bought this?â After taking a sip, she found it was black coffee.
Lucian started the car, the headlights flickering on, illuminating the road ahead. âYeah, got it for Lucky.â
Looking at the coffee, Allison responded seriously, âDogs donât drink coffee, you know.â
Lucian chuckled softly, taken aback by her earnest response. He was about to tell her it was actually for her when she said, âLucky canât drink it. I guess Iâll have to finish it for him.â
The man said, âDonât you celebs have to watch your figures?â
Taking a sip of her coffee, Allison asked earnestly, âMr. Lindberg, are you implying I need to lose weight?â
The man tapped his fingers lightly on the steering wheel, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. âYouâre perfect.â
âI havenât asked you yet. Why are you here?â
Lucian, âI was in the neighborhood.â
Swirling her warm coffee in her hand, Allison asked, âAnd you just happened to get coffee?â
âDonât you like it?â
âI do.â Allison took a satisfyingly large gulp.
âAnyone late on set today?â
Allison didnât really want to get into it, âAh, they should be there soon.â
Lucian, âI recall you were initially offered the female lead for this show. Why didnât you take it?â
Allisonâs eyelashes fluttered, âI didnât think the lead role was right for me, but the supporting one suits me just fine.â
âDo you think Sadie is suitable for the lead role?â
Sadie was a drama school grad, and this was her first film. Her first gig with Epic Entertainment and she was the lead.
Allison, âI donât know whether sheâs suitable or not, but I knew it wasnât right for me. A role has to fit, otherwise, it just comes off weird.â
She knew Lucian wouldnât be pleased with her response. This man didnât like his plans being refused.
She had rejected the lead role that he assigned her and took a supporting one instead. How could he possibly be pleased?
So Allison replied with a smile, âBut Iâve got you, my biggest sponsor. Iâm not lacking in opportunities.
As long as Iâm with you, Iâll always have roles to play.â
That was what he wanted to hear. Sure enough, Allison saw a smile creep up on Lucianâs lips. He said, âIâll have Patty arrange your upcoming roles.â
âOkay.â
He was domineering, but Allison obediently lowered her head. As long as there were resources invested in her, why would she refuse?
Lucian drove her to a restaurant. He had made a reservation in advance. As they entered, the waiter guided them upstairs.
Kamillaâs voice rang out, âLucian, youâre here too.â
Today was Kamillaâs good friend Ronaldâs birthday. He had invited a few friends to celebrate at this popular restaurant. There were no private rooms, just a small hall upstairs with four tables, each seating eight. Ronald had booked the entire hall. However, due to the restaurantâs popularity, one table had already been reserved.
Ronald initially planned to bribe those guests to dine elsewhere so he could have the whole hall. But he hadnât expected the reserved table to be taken by Lucian and⦠Penelopeâ¦wait, that woman wasnât Penelope.
