Chapter 439
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Sadie didnât want Emma as her agent; sheâd rather back her own kin. When she heard that Emma planned to resign, she was pretty stoked. But when she noticed Pattyâs gaze, she felt a chill down her spine.
As an experienced agent, Patty was a real heavy hitter for Sadie, the newbie.
Emma hesitated, then shook her head, âNah, I need a break. Patty, Iâm sorry.â
Sidney said, âEmma, donât be too quick to say no. Youâve got family stuff that needs funding, and you shouldnât quit on a whim. Finding a new job will take time, and I paired you with Sadie because youâre really detail-oriented. Iâve got a script to prepare, and Iâll be dealing with the crew a lot. Sadie doesnât have anyone else suitable.â
Sadie cut her off right away, âSidney, I think Kendra is great. Sheâs really detail-oriented and knows my likes and dislikes. think sheâs perfect. When Emma is around, I canât find her half the time.â
Emma found Sadieâs words laughable, âSadie, every time you call for me; Iâm there at the drop of a hat.â
Sadie huffed, âPatty.â
If Patty couldnât see that Sadie was trying to get rid of Emma and put her own relative in place, then she had been wasting her time in showbiz. She gave Sidney a look that seemed like a reproach, and Sidney felt the pressure.
Patty said, âI recall our company has a rule that agents have to give a two month notice before quitting.
Emma, even if you apply now, you can only leave after two months. If you bail just like that, what others would think of our company?â
Emma got it, company rules were usually pretty strict. She didnât argue, âI understand.â
Sadie was still unsatisfied.
Patty stood up, âI donât have time for this petty nonsense. Sidney, you handle the rest, and donât bother me again. I hate drama queens. Weâve got lots of talents in our company, you canât treat yourself as someone special and expect to get more resources. A disobedient talent doesnât deserve these resources!â
Sidney knew Patty was mad, and she quickly nodded, âOkay, Patty. Iâll handle it.â
Sadie wasnât happy, but seeing Sidney bowing her head, she didnât dare say more. She originally wanted to use this opportunity to ditch-
Emma.
Allison and Lola stood outside the conference room. After a pause, they gently knocked and went in.
Patty was about to leave, âWas our noise bothering you?â
Allisonâs dressing room was a bit far from the conference room, and the soundproofing was excellent.
She shook her head, âI was just passing by. I have something to discuss with you.â
Allison came in and glanced around the room, Sidney, Emma, Sadie, and Sadieâs assistant Kendra were all there. Allison said, Tneed an executive agent. Since Emma and Sadie are not getting along, how about Emma comes with me?â
Emma was taken aback, she looked at Allison and said, âAllison.â
Allison gave a small smile, âI forgot, I need to ask you. Would you like to be my executive agent?â
Emma nodded vigorously, âIâd love to! Iâd absolutely love to!â
