Chapter 443
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Grace did a massive cleaning this morning.
She stumbled upon a few clothes, which still had their tags on in Allisonâs closet. Grace, planning to help her tidy it up, was taken aback by the jaw-dropping prices on those tags.
Grace was stunned. She took a closer look at the labels, whipped out her phone and googled the brand. Turned out, it was some high-end luxury brand.
How could Allison have bought these?
From what Grace knew about her daughter, even if Allison had the money, she wouldnât splurge on these seemingly fancy but practically useless luxury items.
She pulled out her phone, ready to grill Allison about this, but Lola answered the call. After hanging up, Grace felt like she may have jumped the gun. Her daughter was now a celebrity; it was only natural for her to have some fancy clothes.
With that thought, Grace sighed. She hung the clothes back in the closet, knowing her daughter wasnât the type to be all about the glitz and glam.
How could she have doubted Allison, even for a split second?
10 minutes later, Allison returned her call.
âMom, Lola said you called? I was in the middle of a commercial shoot.â Allison said.
Grace was a bit flustered, âNo big deal, I accidentally dialed. Are you done with the shoot? Howâs work?â
âNot yet, still have more to do. Iâll be home early tonight. Mom, itâs your birthday tomorrow. Letâs go shopping.â Allison said.
âIâm too old for birthdays now. Itâs just a waste of money. Allie, you need to save the money you earn and plan for the future.â Grace said. Allison was about to continue her shoot. Today was a promotion for a big brand bag. As she was about to hang up, she heard Grace ask, âAllie, have you been dating someone recently?â
Allison asked, âMom, is something up?â
âWell, Penelope introduced someone to you. I think heâs quite decent, and his familyâs well-off.â Grace said.
Allisonâs brow slightly raised, âPenelope?â
âYes, Allie. I know you and Penelope donât get along. Youâve always been at odds since you were kids.
But Penelope is actually quite nice. Sheâs just a bit arrogant because she was spoiled at home. She truly wants to make amends with you. Penelope is now bedridden, with multiple fractures, and sheâs had it rough. Iâve seen you two grow up together. I know my own child. Allie, I know youâre busy but can you spare some time to visit Penelope?â Grace said.
âSure, Iâd like to visit Penelope in the hospital.â Allison smiled, âMom, since you want me to visit Penelope, Iâd be happy to. As for her being a good person deep down, I wonât forget the threats she and Leah made against me. Theyâre both rotten to the core.â
âAllie, thatâs a bit harsh.â Grace said.
Allison slowly closed her eyes. Harsh? Not at all.
She couldnât forget how her child was taken away from her, nor could she forget how they threatened her to take the fall for them.
Allison ended the call. Emma beside her noticed her mood shift, and gently reminded her, âAllison, weâre about to start shooting.â
Allison slowly exhaled, put on a smile, and resumed the shoot.
Over the weekend, Allison and Daisy went for shopping. Daisy was getting engaged to the eldest son of the Boswell family next week. She seemed to have found peace with it.
