Chapter 446
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
He had no clue what kind of man could be good enough for Allison.
âDaisy, feel free to hit me up anytime. Youâre always welcome to dine at my place.â Brady said.
Daisy let out a chuckle, âWith your place being so popular, Iâm afraid I wonât find a seat when I drop by.â
âThereâs always a spot for you, guaranteed.â Brady said.
Brady left. Daisy turned to Allison, âI think Brady is a decent guy. He busted his ass off to start his own business, and itâs thriving. It hurts to see you turn him down like that.â
Allison gave Daisy a glance, âIf you feel sorry for him, you might as well wait for the eldest son of the Boswell family to kick the bucket and then go for Brady.â
Daisy laughed, âMaybe, but Iâm afraid Brady wonât be into me.â
Allison looked at Daisy a bit annoyed, âYouâre really pushing it, Daisy. Thereâs a whole parade of guys after you, but none of them caught your eye.â
âNow Iâm regretting not dating few more guys back in the day. Now Iâm stuck marrying a sick guy. Even if the Boswell familyâs eldest son bites the dust, I still have to wait three or four years before getting back in the game. Such a waste of my prime years.â Daisy complained while chowing down, âBut, the Boswell family did promise me a 6% share, which is worth a few hundred million in cash.â
âThen youâll be rolling in dough.â Allison jokingly said, âDonât forget about me when youâre loaded.â
Daisy shot back, âI can bankroll a movie for you. You pick the genre, Iâll foot the bill, and you can be the leading lady.â
Allison chuckled, feeling a warm glow in her heart, âWell, thanks in advance.â
Daisy waved her hand dismissively, âNo biggie.â
âBy the way, why didnât you pick up Lucianâs call earlier?â Daisy pointed at the phone and asked, âDid you two have a fight?â
Allison seemed helpless, âI merely told him I was dining here, and he started bragging about how upscale the food court invested by Lindberg Corporation was. I mentioned that the owner is my college friend who used to have a crush on me, and he started blowing up my phone.â
âYouâre really living on the edge. Arenât you afraid Lucian will come after you?â Daisy asked.
âHeâs in Britain now.â Allison said.
Ten minutes later, Lucian called again. Daisy picked up, âIâm sorry, Mr. Lindberg, Allison hasnât returned yet. You can wait for a few minutes, or Iâll put you through as soon as sheâs back.â
Lucian was sitting on the couch, his assistant briefing him about the schedule for tomorrow. Seeing the grim look on his bossâs face, he stopped talking.
Lucian said, âI appreciate your help. You can go find Allison and give her the phone. Iâll make sure to thank you when Iâm back.â
After hearing that, Daisy shot Allison a glance and mouthed, âHe wants me to find you, and he said heâll thank me.â
Knowing there was no way out, Allison nodded.
Daisy cleared her throat, âI see, Iâm actually dining right now. But since Mr. Lindberg insisted, I wouldnât say no. I know youâre in Britain. Britain is famous for its gems, especially amethyst. You should be in London, right? I heard thereâs a gem auction happening in London tomorrow night.â
She stood up, walked a few steps away, and then came back a couple of times. Finally, she knocked on the table and handed the phone to Allison. After all, guys like Lucian were extremely suspicious.
