Chapter 469
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
She shot Jade a look. âWhy canât I be here? Is this hospital yours or something?â
Jade was taken aback. âYouâ¦â
Allison looked at Jade. âDidnât you break up with Dr. Dylan? Youâre a cardiologist, so why are you hanging around the nephrology ward? Isnât the cardiology ward in a different building?â
Jade stuttered, âIâ¦Whatâs it to you where I go?â
âWell, whatâs it to you if Iâm here? Dr. Jade, donât you think youâre sticking your nose where it doesnât belong?â Allison turned around, a bit speechless.
Jade stomped her foot and called her back, âAllison, donât think for a second I donât know why youâre here. Youâre after Dr. Dylan, arenât you? Did Dylan dump me because of you?â
Jade blurted this out loud. There were many people in the ward, and all eyes turned to them at her outburst.
Allison pursed her lips slightly. She felt a bit helpless and was just glad that Emma wasnât there to scold her again.
âDr. Jade, youâve got quite the imagination.â Allison was wearing light makeup and sunglasses.
Through the lenses, she could see the jealousy in Jadeâs eyes.
Jade retorted, âI have an imagination? If it wasnât for you, why would Dylan break up with me?
Everyone knows we were a great couple at the hospital. He had no reason to break up with me. The only factor is you stirring up trouble between us!â
âDr. Jade, you sure are confident. Did it ever occur to you that maybe he just doesnât like you?â Allison really didnât want to keep arguing with Jade. âWhy donât you ask Dr. Dylan if he likes you? Arguing with me is pointless. I have a boyfriend, and weâre very happy.â
Jade blanched, and more people started to gather. A nurse walked over. âAllison, you should goâ¦â She whispered, seemingly aware of Jadeâs tendency to make a scene. âJust ignore her.â
Allison nodded, ready to leave, when she heard Jade call out, âGrace, youâre Allisonâs mother, right?
Why donât you step in? Your daughter is driving a wedge between me and my boyfriend, seducing him.
You need to do something.â
Grace, who had been inside, came out at Jadeâs call. She looked stunned, an IV drip in her hand.
Allison was shocked that Jade, a doctor, would disregard medical ethics like this. She clenched her fists and slowly turned around.
Grace looked at Allison, guilt in her eyes. She walked over and said, âAllie.â
Allison said, âYou s should go back to your room.â
Jade began to mock, âWhat, you canât answer?â
The doctors and nurses began to gather, discussing the matter. A nurse hurried over to disperse the crowd. âMove along, everyone back to your rooms. Please stop crowding around here.ââ
Allison called a nurse to take Grace back to her room. Grace watched Allison leave, worry in her eyes.
But at the moment, she didnât feel like she had the right to stand by Allisonâs side.
