Chapter 47
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Leah was hot on the tail of a taxi, and the chauffeur said, âMadam, it seems like sheâs heading to Juniper Ridgeâ
Leah felt uneasy. If Lucian learned about the Flanagan familyâs surrogate and Allisonâs pregnancy, it could mean the end of the Flanagan family. Penelope had barely managed to become Mrs. Lindberg, and now there might be a homewrecker in the picture! In the world of the elite, a good family name gives you leverage, but once a baby comes into the picture, itâs a whole new ball game.
Leah started thinking quickly, and then suddenly, a sly smile crept on her face.
She called Allison, but she didnât pick up. Leah didnât get upset. Instead, she quickly typed a message, âI know youâve been looking for a kidney donor for your mother. I can help you on one condition â you abort the baby and keep this secret. We can schedule your motherâs transplant this week.â
Leah knew Allison would agree because to Allison, Graceâs life was the top priority.
Allison was shaking all over when she read the message. She closed her eyes, her hands clenched.
The car sped on. Suddenly, she opened her eyes, a tear rolling down her cheek. Her voice was hoarse when she said, âPull over, please.â
âMiss, arenât we going to Juniper Ridge? Just two more traffic lights and a turn, and weâll be there.â
Allison forced a smile, âNo.â She exited the car, standing under the bright streetlight, but she felt like she was in the dark; her eyes lost their light.
She returned to the private clinic. The tension was palpable. The kidney donor was Allisonâs only hope;
she couldnât find one alone.
However, Allison didnât trust Leah entirely. She said firmly, âI need written and video evidence that you can find a kidney in a week and arrange my motherâs surgeryâ
Leah waved it off, âSure.â She wrote a statement and recorded a video, then dialed a number, âHey Erin, I need a favor. A friend needs a kidney, and I hope you can help.
Erin said, âDonât worry, leave it to me. Unless itâs a rare blood type, I can find a match in three days.â
Leah glanced at Allison, âYou heard that. Are we good?â
Allison seemed dejected; she signed and lay down on the operating table with her eyes closed.
Leah snickered outside the curtain, âDoctor, donât bother with anesthesia. If sheâs so attached to the baby, she should feel the pain of letting it go The doctor was taken aback, âThat kind of pain is unbearable. Are you joking?â
Leah was haughty, âDo I look like Iâm joking? The contract is signed, and the money is paid. You just do as I say.â
The female doctor entered the operating room. The facilities were quite simple for an operating âroomâ.
The doctor smiled at the pale, dullâeyed woman on the operating table.
âMiss, donât worry. Iâm very skilled. Unless thereâs a complication, we wonât harm you. You donât need to be nervous, just relax and cooperate.â
A tear slid down Allisonâs cheek.
