Chapter 471
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Hearing this, Dr. Thaliaâs brows immediately furrowed. She didnât expect her usually poised and well-
mannered daughter to say something like that. She instantly turned stern. âJade!â
Jade realized her words were a bit out of line, but she felt indignant. âDylan, thatâs not true! You do like me!â
Dr. Dylan was a bit exasperated. âI was temporarily suspended because of a medical incident. Iâm truly grateful for your help during that time. But the person I like is Allison, and it always has been. Dr. Jade, Iâm sorry for any misunderstanding. I thought Iâve made myself clear. Please donât do this again.â
This time, in front of both deans, Dr. Dylan utterly rejected Jade. The always pampered, smooth-sailing Jade took a nasty fall for the first time. She seemed unable to handle it, her cheeks swiftly turned scarlet, and a wave of shame swept over her. She then stood up, with her eyes welling up, and left.
Dr. Thaliaâs face turned sour. Her own daughter was rejected publicly.
The chaotic scene subsided.
Dr. Thalia glanced at Dr. Dylan. She seemed to want to say something but held back. He was an excellent doctor, arguably one of the best among the young doctors. Naturally, she held him in high regard, and was well aware of her daughterâs ongoing crush on him.
Upon learning Dr. Dylanâs affection for Allison, she tried advising her daughter, to no avail. Her daughter was always pouring her heart out to the wrong person. She didnât expect things to turn out this way.
Word traveled fast, and within hours, the whole hospital knew about Dr. Dylanâs rejection of Jade, and Jadeâs relentless pursuit.
Dr. Thalia also felt a bit awkward. She glanced at Allison, not understanding how a woman from a regular family could overshadow her daughter.
Allison seemed to sense the scrutiny. That gaze was unabashedly sizing her up. Allison also raised her head to meet Dr. Thaliaâs eyes, not showing any hint of evasion.
Behind her shades, she met Dr. Thaliaâs gaze. Their eyes locked, and Dr. Thalia slightly furrowed her brows. This womanâ¦
There was something about that gaze she couldnât quite figure out. This woman named Allison was definitely not as simple as she appeared.
The meeting room slowly emptied.
Allison stood up, looking at Dr. Dylan, and he was looking back at her.
â1â¦â
They both started at the same time.
âYou go firstâ¦â
âYou go firstâ¦â
There was an unspoken understanding between them, and then they exchanged smiles. Allison said, âIâm sorry if Iâve caused you any trouble.â
Dr. Dylan replied, âNo, I should be the one apologizing. I didnât expect Jade to cause you trouble in the hospital.â
Allison shook her head. âItâs fine. Donât worry about it.â
She stood up. âI have a friend to meet. Iâll be going now.â
Watching Allisonâs retreating figure, Dr. Dylanâs eyes grew dim as she left the meeting room. He sat back down, and after ten minutes, Dr. Dylan stood up and went back to his office.
He turned on the computer, typing on the keyboard-
Resignation request.
After leaving the hospital, Allison went to a restaurant to meet Emma. The restaurant was uniquely decorated and located by the river, offering a breathtaking view.
âHow are you doing? You had so much to drink last night, do you have a hangover?â
