Chapter 477
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
The knock on the door came just then.
Daisy walked over to open it, and the person knocking was her mom. Rosie noticed the necklace around Daisyâs neck. âWhereâd you get this? Itâs stunning.â
A bit shy, Daisy whispered, âFrances gave it to me.â
Rosie was taken aback. âYou went to the Boswellâs today?â
âMhm, I did.â Daisy sat down on the sofa, took a book out of her bag, and put it on the table.
Rosie knew by looking at the book her daughter brought back that she had a good time at Francesâ.
Even though Daisy appeared to be outgoing, she was actually a bookworm.
Daisy seemed easy-going, but her mind was as sharp as a tack. She only had one good friend, Allison, and most of her time was spent dealing with these jewels.
Out of the blue, Mina from the Boswell family popped by, bringing up the engagement her father-in-law had arranged a decade ago. Neither she nor Wyatt wanted to agree. They only had one daughter.
The Boswell family was a tough nut to crack, an enigma. Especially Mina, who rose from a nobody to her current status, she was no angel that was for sure. Everyone knows, even though on the surface itâs the Boswell family, actually, itâs all under Minaâs thumb.
If Daisy married into that family, sheâd just be a puppet for Mina to manipulate public opinion.
Whoâd want their daughter to walk into such a mess? Who wouldnât want their daughter to find someone she loved, to live a happy life?
During that time, Rosie would pray and shed tears in the dark.
Seeing her daughter smiling more these days, made Rosieâs mood improve a lot.
Daisy said, âMom, I want to marry Frances. Iâve made up my mind.â
Rosie asked, âAre you sure?â
She held her daughterâs hand tightly. âIf you donât want to, you can run away. Your father and I will cover for you and say you ran off. Mina might not be happy, but she wonât dare to openly give us trouble. Your father and I have thought it through. Weâve made enough money, weâre not greedy, and we just want you to be happy.â Daisyâs eyes welled up, and she took a deep breath. âMom, Iâve decided, I want to marry Frances. No matter how hard the road ahead is, I want to be by his side. Even if his health isnât good, Iâm willing to take care of him. Iâve known him for half a month. I think heâs a good guy, not like what I thought before. Maybe, things arenât as bad as they seem.â
Tears welled up in Rosieâs eyes too. Daisy threw herself into Rosieâs arms. âMom, I donât feel hurt. I used to think that with so many guys chasing me, I was always picky. I wanted to marry someone I loved, but now I think Iâve found him. Frances and, we share the same passion; the movie we watched together today was a type we both liked.â
Rosie couldnât quite believe it. She was afraid her daughter was deceiving her to make her feel at ease.
âReally?â
âReally,â Daisy said as she handed over a book. âThis is the book I brought today, he likes it too. Heâd spend the whole afternoon discussing books and movies with me. When Iâm with him, time flies, Iâd find myself unknowingly staring at him while he talks.â
There was something Daisy didnât say. She thought she must be falling for him.
Seeing her daughterâs earnest expression, Rosie said, âIn that case, your father and I can rest easy.â
Daisy lightly touched the necklace around her neck. This afternoon, she went to the jewelry factory and picked out a piece of aquamarine rough stone.
Following the style of the amethyst necklace around her neck, she personally polished a blue necklace that looked just the same. The next time she saw Frances, she planned on giving it to him..
She was ready to tell Mina; she was willing to move into the Boswellâs.
