Mina gave Ava a quick glance and Ava immediately picked up the conversation, “Ms. Daisy, Mr.

Frances isn’t at home. He’s been in the hospital since last night. I was just about to head over with some chicken soup to visit him. Wanna tag along?”

Daisy of course wanted to see Frances. She was dying to know how he was doing. So she quickly nodded in agreement.

Frances was awake and after the treatment last night, he was fine. Wilton hadn’t slept all night, his eyes were red from exhaustion. He snapped at John, “Frances is allergic to mangoes. Everything he eats is under your watch. Don’t tell me you didn’t know?”

It was probably a coincidence that both brothers were allergic to mangoes. Frances almost lost his life after eating a mango at age three. He was rushed to the hospital and it took four hours to save him.

From then on, the Boswell family chef would avoid using mangoes in any dish.

John sighed, “Miss Daisy brought over a piece of fruit cake last night. We didn’t expect it to have mangoes in it. That’s my bad.”

“I trust her. She’s not that kind of woman.” Frances said with clear eyes, “Wilton, she’s different.”

Wilton looked at Frances, seemingly shocked. How did that woman named Daisy manage to make Frances defend her like this?

“Frances, you trust her, but I don’t. I knew from the moment Mina arranged this marriage, that she was sent by Mina. And what happened last night is the best proof.”

Frances didn’t know how to explain to Wilton, but he trusted Daisy. Daisy was not that kind of girl. She clearly rejected Mina’s arrangement. Her eyeweres as pure and innocent as a deer in the forest. That kind of brightness was something he had not seen for years.

He saw light. His light.

Outside the ward, there was a sound of footsteps. John went out to see Daisy and Ava at the door. His gaze fell on Daisy. Maybe he really misunderstood her. From his observations, he belived Daisy was an innocent girl. But now, Daisy and Ava came together. Didn’t this prove that Daisy was sent by Mina?

John’s face darkened, “What are you guys doing here?”

Ava asked, “How’s Mr. Frances? What happened?”

Before John could answer, a sarcastic male voice came from the ward, “You don’t know what happened?”

Then, Wilton came out. There seemed to be a sharp chill emanating from the man, which startled Ava at first glance. Wilton’s eyes were red and cold as he stared at Ava.

Ava took a step back from the man’s gaze. “Mr. Wilton, you’ve misunderstood, I’m just worried about Mr. Frances’ condition…”

“My brother is doing well, sorry to disappoint you.” Wilton said coldly, “Leave the hospital now. I don’t want to see you here.”
