Chapter 492
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Wiltonâs move turned Ava as pale as a sheet. She didnât expect him to show his displeasure so openly.
Before this, she only saw Wilton as a capricious, pleasure-loving young man, splurging his familyâs money and chasing skirts all over the place. But right now, she felt an icy chill from Wiltonâs gaze that sent shivers down her spine.
âAlright, Iâll report to Mina about Mr. Francesâs situation truthfully,â Ava said as she turned to leave. She cast a glance at Daisy, âMs. Daisy, you stay here and take good care of Mr. Frances.â
Although Daisy wasnât the sharpest tool in the shed, she got the picture. She was being played by Ava and Mina. On the surface, it seemed like Mina asked Ava to take her to the hospital to visit Frances, but in reality, she was pushing her into the lionâs den. Seeing her with Ava, Wilton and his gang would surely think she was one of Minaâs minions and start suspecting her.
Daisy caught Wiltonâs piercing look and knew that any explanation would be like flogging a dead horse.
âMr. Wilton, I want to go in and see Francesâ¦â
Wilton moved a step closer, his figure looming over Daisy.
Daisy instinctively stepped back. The man was closing in, on her. Her back hit the wall.
âMr. Wilton, what are you doing?â
Wilton punched the wall next to Daisy, causing her to shriek and close her eyes. But the expected pain didnât come. She remembered the call Wilton made to her in the wee hours, realizing he must despise her now. She opened her eyes and met Wiltonâs icy, angry gaze, âIâm not with Mina.â
âHmph, save it,â he scoffed, his voice low, âYou think I would believe you?â His other hand gripped her chin tightly, âIâm telling you, if anything happens to my brother, I wonât let you or the Santos family get away scot-free.â
Daisy felt a sharp pain in her chin, tears welled up in her eyes as she stared at him. He sneered, âSo is this how you fooled Frances?â
John was watching him from the sidelines. Knowing Wiltonâs temperament, John tried to stop him, afraid heâd do something impulsive. âMr. Wilton.â
Wilton let go of Daisy, âYou may fool Frances, but you canât fool me.â
John breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Wilton let go. With Wiltonâs temper, he was genuinely worried he might hurt Daisy. Even though Daisy was sent by Mina, this was a hospital after all. If Wilton hurt Daisy, it would only give Mina more ammunition against him.
Daisy didnât leave. She stood outside the ward, hoping she could check on Frances. She wouldnât leave until she saw that Frances was okay.
But Wilton was blocking her way. âGet lost.â
âNo!â Daisy clenched her fists, âWho do you think you are? What gives you the right to stop me from seeing Frances!â
Facing a man who looked exactly like Frances but exuded a strong sense of gloom and acted recklessly, Daisy was taken aback. This Wilton was actually so horrible. âI came to see Frances, not you. Wilton, what gives you the right to stop me from seeing him? Even if youâre his brother, you have no right.â
Wilton clearly didnât expect this petite woman to talk back to him. Her bright almond eyes clearly showed fear.
