Chapter 533
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Allison had just started in the entertainment industry, so her footing was still shaky. Although Nicki didnât have a massive following, she was still known, had a portfolio, and had even won Best Supporting Actress for one of her roles. This marked a new height in her career, having steadily built up her reputation over the years. Allison sipped her coffee. âOf course, Nicki. Whatever you need, you can always come to me.â
Nicki was a clever woman and their conversation flowed easily.
It was a well-known fact in the industry that no one could survive alone. Having an extra friend meant having an extra ally.
As they left the café, Nicki had to head to a shoot, so she left first. Allison was getting ready to leave too when she saw Emma looking for her. âEmma, whatâs up?â she walked over.
âAllison, a lady named Leah is looking for you. Sheâs already waiting in the lounge.â
Leahâ¦
Allisonâs eyes darkened slightly as she headed for the lounge.
In the lounge, Leah glanced at her wristwatch. She had been waiting for half an hour already. Did this Allison dare to keep her waiting this long?! She swallowed her irritation and waited for another five minutes.
Finally, the lounge door opened and Allison walked in. She didnât show any surprise at Leahâs presence. She had probably already guessed why Leah was here.
âMrs. Flanagan, what brings you here?â Allison asked coolly as she took a seat across from Leah.
Leah frowned. âAllison, I am after all your senior. Is this how you treat your elders?â
ââWhatâs wrong with my attitude?â Allison couldnât understand.
Emma had not left. At first, she didnât know who Leah was. Seeing that she was well-dressed, she treated her with due respect. It was only after hearing Allison address her as Mrs. Flanagan that she realized who Leah was. She must be Penelopeâs mother.
Penelopeâs mother coming to see Allison could only mean one thing. She was here because of the negative publicity her daughter was receiving.
Allison smiled. âMrs. Flanagan, you should count yourself lucky that you came today and I happened to be here too. Otherwise, youâd waste a trip.â
Leah slammed her hand on the table. âAllison, Iâve been waiting for you for 35 minutes. Youâve got quite the nerve!â
The last traces of a smile vanished from Allisonâs eyes. She turned to Emma. âEmma, start recording.
Letâs show everyone on Twitter what kind of attitude Penelopeâs mother has when she comes asking for a favor.â
Emma immediately took out her phone and started recording Leah.
Leah looked slightly taken aback. She wanted to scold Allison but was afraid of the video being exposed. She hadnât expected Allison to be this defiant. Leahâs mind raced. âAllison, this situation has blown up quite a bit. Iâm sure you donât want to see this either. Letâs both take a step back.â
âOh? And how do we do that?â
âYou announce on Twitter that you and Penelope are good friends and that her comments were just a joke between sisters. No harm at all.â
Allison laughed. âGood friends? Mrs. Flanagan, you surely know how to crack a joke.â
Leah made an offer, âI know a top nephrologist. If youâre willing to settle this Twitter issue, I can introduce him to your mother. Even though sheâs had a kidney transplant, she still needs ongoing treatment to prolong her life.â
