Chapter 55
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Miranda was over the moon. This little girl was as lovable as Penelope. Itâs a pity Penelope already took her son. Otherwise, he would definitely love such a kindâhearted girl.
Meanwhile, in the VIP ward, the nurse who was supposed to care for Miranda was freaking out.
âWhatâs up?â Lucian hurried over as soon as he got the call The nurse tried to explain, scared stiff of his reaction, âI just went to get some stuff for Miranda. When I came back, she was gone. Iâve been searching for a while now and still canât find herâ¦â
Lucianâs face turned ashen. He left only one sentence behind, âDonât bother coming in tomorrow.â
He then headed for the elevator, ordering his bodyguard, âFind her, now!â
But before he could get far, the elevator door suddenly opened, and his mother walked out, laughing with a woman.
Lucian stared coldly at Allisonâs face, and she froze when she saw him.
Miranda had just told her that her son wasnât around, and thatâs why Allison dared to go back.
Before she could recover from her shock, Lucian had already approached them, âMom, where have you been?â
Miranda knew her son was pissed, âI just went out for some fresh air, why did they call you back?â
From the moment they walked in, Lucianâs gaze hadnât left Allison Feeling uneasy under his stare, Allison hurriedly said, âMichelle, since youâre back in your room, I should get going. Bye.â
âHold on.â Miranda grabbed her wrist, smiling. Thank you for helping me today and for bringing me back.â
Then she turned to Lucian, âCould you see this young lady out? And thank her for me.â
Lucian looked at Allison, smiling slightly, âSure.â
Allison didnât want Miranda to notice anything odd. Luckily, Lucian acted like he didnât know her at all.
As soon as they left the hospital, she blurted, âMr. Lindberg. Iâm leaving right awayâ¦â
But before she could finish, he had a viceâlike grip on her wrist.
Next thing she knew, Lucian was shoving her into a black Maybach.
Allison frowned, trying to open the car door, only to find it locked.
Lucian was smoking a cigarette, his eyes deep and cold, âAllison, didnât you say youâd never show up in front of me again?â
Allison clenched her fists, âThis was unexpected. I came to the hospital to get medicine and bumped into Mirandaâ¦â
âUnexpected?â His voice was husky from the smoke, dripping with sarcasm âThe first time I went to the Flanagan family, you âaccidentallyâ spilled coffee on me. Was that a coincidence? You planned to drug me, sneaking into my room during Willowbrook Collegeâs anniversary. Was that a coincidence? Youâve been skipping class a lot this past year, but you always rush over when Iâm teaching. Was that also a coincidence? Allison, I went to Penelopeâs birthday party, and you fell down in front of my car. Do you expect me to believe thatâs a coincidence?â His eyes narrowed, anger and mockery intertwined, âAnd now, youâre telling me itâs a coincidence youâre in my motherâs hospital room?â
Allison was stumped.
A faint blush covered her face, âI donât care if you believe me or not, this really was unexpectedâ¦â
