Chapter 562
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Patty realized what she had done, and her face turned pale. âI didnât mean it like that,â she stammered.
Allison replied, âI need a press conference arranged in three days.â
Patty blinked. The confusion was written all over her face. âIn three days?â
âIâve got it,â Emma interjected quickly. âIâll get everything set up right away.â
âAnd the lady who was at Epic Entertainmentâs entrance,â Allison continued, âis she still here?â
Emma responded, âI had the receptionist take her to the lounge. Allison, do you want to go see her?â
Allison turned to Patty. Her tone was sharpening with each word. âWhy wasnât I told my mother was here? Why didnât you let her wait in the lounge? Why was she kept downstairs? Why wasnât she brought up here?â By the last question, Allisonâs voice had risen significantly.
Patty explained hurriedly, âWe didnât know she is your mother the day before yesterday. Plus, with the current scandal brewing, the front desk is being extra cautious. They thought she might be some reporter posing as your mom, so they didnât let her in. It is a misunderstanding.â
âWhich lounge is Grace in?â
âLounge number two.â
Allison rose to her feet, heading for the door.
Emma prepared to follow, but Patty held Emma back. âWhy is she holding a press conference now?
The best thing to do in these situations is to stay cool, play it down. Calling the media now is like adding fuel to the fire, isnât it? As her agent, you should be thinking about her long-term career. Iâve already had a professional PR team handle the scandal. If it werenât for Allison clashing with the media, this wouldnât be blowing up again. Emma, you should be advising Allison, not just nodding along with whatever she wants. Actresses can be impulsive when faced with issues, and you should be the one to stop her.â
Emma looked at Patty. Her respect for the senior agent was evident, but there were some matters on which she did not agree with Pattyâs views. âItâs clear that the woman in those photos isnât Allison. Why shouldnât we clarify that? If we have solid evidence, we can set the record straight. I donât think staying silent is the best approach. Allison has a long road ahead, and if we let this slide, itâll just make it easier for anyone to tarnish her image in the future. They could just photoshop something and claim itâs her.
Thatâs really too easy.â
Pattyâs gaze turned stern. âEmma, donât forget who you are. This is Epic Entertainment, and youâre just a junior agent. You gotta know your place!â
Emma knew she was no match for Patty and didnât want to cause any offense. âBut Allison has already decided on the press conference. Usually, I might try to talk her out of things like this, and once sheâs back on set, itâll all be fine.â
âBecause of this scandal,â Patty countered, âthe start date for the film has been pushed back. The scriptâs already been delivered. Tell Allison to go over it in advance. Wade is already upset about the scandal, and Iâve been smoothing things over. Wadeâs a senior in the circle. Surely, Allisonâs got resources and Mr. Lindbergâs backing, but in this industry. you need to impress the seniors with talent and hard work.â
Emma agreed with Patty on that point.
âEnough talk. Wait for her by the lounge, and Iâll head back to the office. If anything comes up, contact me immediately. Donât make any decisions on your own!â Patty dropped this before leaving.
