Chapter 7
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
âAhh- Kamilla suddenly let out a yelp.
Allison bit her lip, desperately trying to steady the soup bowl. Most of the hot soup splashed onto her own wrist.
She couldnât help but gasp.
Margo immediately jumped in, yelling at Allison, âAllison! What good are you? What if you burned Miss Kamilla? Can you afford that?!â
Then, Kamilla said, âIâm okay.â
She wasnât burned much, just a bit of soup on her clothes Her scream was more of a reflex.
Meanwhile, Allisonâs injury was obviously more severe, her hand was already turning red.
Seeing that Kamilla wasnât angry, Margo seized the opportunity and said, âMiss, you might not know, but this maid often slacks off and messes things up! Last time she nearly burned Mr. Lindberg!â
âWhat?â Penelope exclaimed in surprise. Allison actually appeared in front of Lucian behind her back?!
Then, she slapped Allison across the face and scolded, âAllison, we kept you here out of pity, and you repay us like this! If you really hurt Lucian and Kamilla, even your life wouldnât be enough compensation! I think you did this on purpose!â
The room fell silent, no one expected Penelope to act out. Allison could only feel the burning pain on her cheek, but she couldnât fight. back.
A tear fell on her reddened hand, burning like fire.
The next second, a figure stepped in front of her, Jason looked at Penelope coldly. âEnough. It was just an accident, Ms. Flanagan, youâre overreacting.â
âPenelope was just worried about Kamilla, she acted without thinking.â
Leahâs words brought Penelope back to reality, she nodded repeatedly, âI was too anxious. As long as Kamilla is okay, thatâs all that matters.â
Kamilla scoffed. Was she being used as a pawn? Did this Penelope think she was stupid?
However, Leah immediately changed the topic and turned to Allison, âAllison, we canât employ someone as careless as you any longer. Pack your things, take three monthsâ wages, and leave.â
Allison was stunned, if she left the Flanagan family, what about her motherâs illness?
She was so anxious she didnât even notice the pain in her hand, she immediately pleaded, âMrs.
Flanagan, I know I was wrong, please donât make me leave.â
âMrs. Flanagan, Allison sheâ¦â
âMr. Brummett, are you saying the Flanagan family doesnât even have the right to fire a maid?â
Leah cut him off before he could finish. Every time she saw Allisonâs face, she felt uncomfortable, she even suspected that Allison was Christopherâs illegitimate daughter.
Now that she finally had a chance to kick them out, she wouldnât pass it up so easily!
However, just as she finished speaking, Lucian, who hadnât said a word, stood up, âKamilla has already said sheâs okay. Letâs drop it.â
He glanced at Allisonâs hand, his eyes slightly dark, and he spoke politely but coldly, âIâll take Kamilla home now.â
Seeing that he was leaving, Penelopeâs expression changed slightly. She quickly grabbed his arm, âLucian.â
Lucian glanced at her hand; Penelope felt the pressure and unconsciously let go.
Lucian said softly. âAbout the engagement details, Iâll have someone discuss it with you.â
With that, he calmed her inner unease. She knew she couldnât cling to him now, so she smiled at him warmly, âPlease be careful on the road. Iâm sorry, Kamilla, for the incident happening on your first visit to my house.â
Kamilla didnât even look at her, what a twoâfaced woman.
Once they were in the car, Kamilla couldnât help but ask, âLucian, youâre not really going to marry Penelope, are you?â
