Chapter 81
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Chapter 81
The small balcony on the first floor near the stairs was probably less noisy than the crowded living room, so the man choose to take his call there.
âMr. Lindberg, that thing you asked me to look into, about you being drugged at the Silver Star Hotel, itâs not as straightforward as it seems. George Lindbergâs assistant Melvin is clean, but we found some clues in the surveillance footage. In the footage, Ms. Flanagan didnât seem to be visiting friends. Ms.
Flanagan claimed a friend was having a birthday, but I couldnât find anyone celebrating a birthday at the Silver Star Hotel that dayâ¦â
Lucian hung up, left the balcony, glanced up at the stairs and said, âCome out, I didnât know that the Flanagan familyâs maids were such eavesdroppers
Allison descended the stairs with her cleaning supplies, head down and hunched over, âI apologize, Mr.
Lindberg I didnât mean to eavesdrop. I just happened to hear you as I was passing by I wasnât close enough to hear what you were saying â
âTalking back, huh?â
Allison: âIf Mr. Lindberg doesnât need anything. Iâll get to cleaning the balconyâ As she walked by him towards the balcony, she heard the door lock behind her. The next moment, she felt his arm around her waist.
Allison was pinned against the wall by Lucian
His familiar, domineering scent filled her nostrils.
Allisonâs eyes widen, âAre you crazy? This is the Flanagan familyâs house!â
Outside, thereâs the living room-
In the living room.
Penelope was blushing and smiling. Ever since she got pregnant, the Lindbergs had been treating her differently. Even the normally stern Cors seemed more caring.
Penelope sat next to Cora. Her pregnant didnât show yet, but she kept touching it, exaggerating her movements.
Cora beamed, âThis child is such good news for the Lindberg family. Carterâs 85th birthday is coming up, this is the best gift.â
Penelope: âIâll make sure to prepare a good gift.â
She had been pretending to be Allison, speaking softly to avoid detection. Cora thought sheâs very polite and her impression of her had improved.
Carter was in great spirits today, playing chess with Christopher.
Christopher was sweating bullets. Carterâs high status in the business world put a lot of pressure on Christopher
For the Flanagan family to be connected to the Lindbergs was a great honor.
After losing two games of chess, Christopher stood up and smiled, âCarter, you win.â
With Carter in such good spirits, Christopher relaxed. He exchanged a knowing smile with Lean. They both had a hunch that their connection with the Lindberg family was all
but confirmed.
Lucian and Penelopeâs engagement was settled, and now that Penelope was pregnant, the child would be the Lindberg familyâs first great-grandchild. The wedding preparations were underway.
Carter looked around, âWhereâs Lucian?â
Cora looked around but didnât see him, âHe was just here, where did he go?â
A passing maid answered, âI saw Mr. Lindberg on the phone earlier. He might be on the balcony.â
Cora stood up and said with a smile, Iâll go find him.â
