Allison was in deep thought when she heard a socialite nearby gossiping: “I heard that guy Aidan is a child adopted by Carter and his first wife. Sophia. Carter and Sophia had a deep relationship, but their adopted child is said to have died young, leaving only Aidan. But what’s strange is that I heard Aidan has always been abroad, how come he’s suddenly back?”

“I also heard that Aidan has a sister, but I’ve never seen her around the Lindberg family…”

Allison didn’t expect to catch such juicy news while snacking in the corner, and she definitely didn’t expect the Lindberg family to be so complex.

Looking over at Aidan, Kamilla’s face flushed as she walked up to him and asked in a low voice:

“Aidan, how long are you planning to stay this time?”

I Aidan, indifferent and slightly hoarse, replied, “I’ll be staying a bit longer this time, I won’t be going back to the UK for a while.”

Kamilla’s face lit up, “Really?”

Aidan gave a subtle nod, then shifted his gaze to a man who looked emotionlessly, “Lucian.”

Lucian raised his wine glass, “I thought you wouldn’t show up today.”

“It’s my grandpa’s birthday, I wouldn’t dare miss it.”

Aidan replied with a cryptic smile, his gaze landing on the woman beside him.

Upon seeing Penelope’s face, Aidan was momentarily surprised, but quickly recovered, teasing: “Luca, aren’t you going to introduce us?”

“Penelope, my fiancée.”

“Lucian, who is this…” Penelope beamed with a sweet smile, she had already guessed Aidan’s identity.

Even though she knew about Aidan’s existence, this was the first time she had actually met him.

As she admired Aidan’s handsome profile, she couldn’t help but praise the superior genes of the Lindberg family. Although he was disabled, he had a handsome face that could make any heart flutter.

“Aidan.” Lucian simply stated his name, clearly not in the mood for introducing him further.

Aidan didn’t mind, laughing: “Since when did Luca have a fiancée and why didn’t he tell me?”

“I neglected to inform you.” Lucian knew better than anyone that Aidan had his informants all over the Lindberg family, surely he would have known about the engagement.

After Yuliana Crane’s death, their brotherly relationship took a turn for the worse, things could never be the same, right?!

“Regardless, congrats, Luca.” Aidan glanced at his wristwatch, “I need to rest due to my disability, we’ll catch up another time, Luca.”

“Sure.” Lucian didn’t linger, turning to entertain other guests.

As Aidan was about to leave with his cane, his sleeve was suddenly pulled.

With her eyes downcast and her cheeks flushed, Kamilla, who hadn’t seen him for a long time, said, “Aidan, what’s been interesting in the UK, why don’t you call?”

Aidan frowned slightly.

Although Kamilla was his sister in name, he had no blood ties with the Lindberg family.

He had lived in the UK for ten years, only returning for Christmas each year, and hardly ever visiting Northfield otherwise.

So, he didn’t have any real affection for Kamilla.

“What interesting things could there be for a disabled man like me who stays at home all day?” A twinkle of amusement flashed in Aidan’s handsome face. “Why don’t you tell me about anything interesting in Northfield? For instance, how did Luca suddenly get engaged?”
