Chapter 97
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Half an hour later, Kamilla was in the middle of a card game when her phone buzzed.
âRoom 211, second floor.â
Lifting her eyes, she suddenly stood up and told her friends, âIâm done playing. You guys carry on.â
After Kamilla left, the rest of the gang exchanged glances.
âKamilla is such a piece of work. Sheâs the one who wanted to play, and now sheâs the one whoâs bailing.â
âShush, keep it down, she might not be far off.â
â
âWhatâs there to fear? The soundproofing here is topânotch.â The one speaking was a lady in a navy blue dress, âWill Kamilla come back? If not, Iâm calling my friend over to join the game. Weâre one player short.â
âSheâs definitely not coming back, the birthday party will be over in an hour. Hurry up, hurry up!â
Outside Room 211.
Kamillaâs heart pounded. She took a deep breath, mustered up her courage, and pushed open the door.
This was the boldest thing sheâd done since she turned twenty.
The curtains were drawn in the room, casting a dim light. She could faintly hear a manâs heavy breathing. Approaching the bed, she saw Aidan lying there, his thoughts seemingly in disarray.
Softly, she called out, âAidan.â
The man opened his eyes, feeling incredibly uncomfortable, his body heated as if ready to explode.
His thoughts werenât completely muddled yet, he could vaguely see a silhouette in front of him.
âWho is it?â
Aidan realized heâd been set up. Heâd never expected someone would pull a stunt on him at his birthday party.
At that moment, he saw a woman slowly approaching him.
Beneath the faint moonlight, he was stunned to find that it was Kamilla!
Aidan gritted his teeth, trying to clear his head, âKamillaâ¦â
Seeing the man sheâd longed for right in front of her, witnessing his discomfort, her previously wavering heart made a decision.
âAidan, itâs me.â She mustered up the courage to call his name, slipping out of her clothes and standing before him bared.
Aidan clenched his fists, his body writhing in pain as if a bomb was about to explode inside. But he knew, the woman before him was Kamilla, his friend, he couldnât harbor any other thoughts.
Suppressing his last bit of sanity, he snarled through gritted teeth, âKamilla, get dressed!!â
But Kamilla embraced him, her cool, soft body causing him to tremble uncontrollably as she pressed against his feverish skin.
His forehead strained, he tried to push her away, âKamilla, get out!!!â
âAidanâ¦â At that moment, Kamilla discarded all her pride. All she wanted was Aidanâs love. She was even prepared to confess to her father that she loved Aidan, that theyâd been together. She was certain that Aidan would take responsibility under pressure, and her doting father would surely force Aidan to marry her!
But Aidan bit down hard on his teeth.
Even if it cost him his life, he couldnât hurt Kamilla!
