In the end of the novel, Lakis didnât kill Hestia, who was living together with Annmarie. He returned Hestia, who got kidnapped back to Annmarie. It wasnât such a bad choice to do that.
Because Annmarie didnât know that Lakis wanted to harm Hestia, she regarded him as her benefactor. Itâs pitiful indeed.
Lakis looked down at Xenos and moved around him slowly. At his words, Xenos flinched for a second. Lakis bent down.
He grabbed Xenosâ soaked red hair, and lifted his head up. Lakis looked into his eyes with a twisted smile on his beautiful face.
In the midst of the pouring rain, his voice was sing-songy and soft.
Thwack! Bamâ¦!
The next moment, he slammed his rugged fist into his head and into the rain-covered floor, several times.
Xenosâ blood covered his hands. The noble man, who claimed to be the knight of Annmarie, had become a broken rag and was bleeding miserably. Still, his distorted eyes were glowing more than before.
Lakis mockingly smiled at him.

(T/N: iâm going to use first person perspective from yuriâs side for this bc i think itâs supposed to be that wayâ¦)
It was a clear, sunny morning. I woke up at the same time as usual.
I frowned. Itâs weirdâ¦â¦ Iâm having a hard time remembering the dream I had last night. I donât remember what it was. When I opened my eyes, I couldnât remember the contents of the dream, so Iâm kind of worried about it. Somehow it seemed like someone familiar was in the dreamâ¦but I just opened the door and left to go to the living room, brushing it off.
It was a sunny morning, but it was dark inside the house because the curtains were covering the windows. I went to the kitchen to get a cup of water, just like every morning.
Rattle.
Trickleâ¦â¦
I grabbed my cup of water and pulled a thread out with my other hand while walking through the room. It was to pull up the curtains. At that very moment, my eyes met with someone else in the living room.
Stop.
ââ¦â
ââ¦â
I stopped. For a moment, I was speechless.
Wow. I was a little surprised this time.
Thatâs right. There was someone else living in my house now, right?
No, when you wake up, youâre either drowsy, or you forgot about stuff because youâre still half asleep.
Sssskâ¦â¦. (T/N: a soft sound or describing the movement of something scraping against the floor.)
I pulled the thread back into my fingertips.
â¦Did he see it?
The house was dark and I only pulled a few threads out, so he might not have seen it.
âYouâre up, Mr. Lakis.â
I just said my morning greetings.
My attitude was calm and collected like always.
âHow are you feeling?â
I approached him. Lakis was still half leaning against the sofa in a light shirt. He must have felt a little stuffy during the night, so he unbuttoned his shirt sleeves and shirt collar loosely, so now I could see his forearms and neck.
A very thin outline of his body could be seen dimly lit through the curtains, it was still in perfect pristine condition today. Perhaps because he was the king of the dark world, that dark background seemed to suit him terribly well. His blue eyes, which were shining vividly in the dark, were silently staring at me. They were narrowing slightly. Perhaps he was awakened by me coming and going out of the room.
âIf you donât mind, Iâll open the curtains a bit.â
I walked to the window and moved my hand. I thought it was a bit cumbersome because I had a habit of using the fragmentsâ powers, but I couldnât do it now.
Rattle.
Like I said before, I pulled the curtains slightly down and turned around, I could see Lakisâ face, which got lighter because of the sunlight.
He stared at me standing by the window, covering his eyes with his hands as if he were blocking out the sun. It was like a gleaming figure. He was badly hurt, but the scene in front of me seemed to be like a photo shoot. As expected, the term âfashionâ is meaningless to a handsome face.
In a way, it was like a picture even though it was a bit messy. I just lifted up the curtains, and the mood did a 180, since it was dark a little while ago. Suddenly, it felt like the black swan had become a swan, or it felt like Hyde had become a guardian. In the morning sun, Lakis was showing off the innocent vibe of the man that I saw yesterday in front of me.
In the dark, his eyes that were shining alone, gave off a vibe of a wild animal hunting for its prey, but now the Lakis in front of mr was just⦠like a cute little kitten that had just woke up from itâs sleep. Of course, there was a danger of being slaughtered by this villain, so I couldnât say this out loud. I donât know if he saw my web or not because there was no sign of that.
âSorry if I woke you up. I have to get ready for work.â
Lakis heard me and stretched out his arms to pull the paper and pen left beside him. He wrote something down and showed it to me.
[Itâs okay. I donât mind.]
With the personality of the Lakis in the novel, I thought he would throw a pen at my head, but what followed was a thoughtful and courteous answer.
In this way starting a conversation with him was easy. When he first woke up, I casually said, âI know about your situation, so I think it would be better for you to not overwork your vocal cords.â
There arenât any vacant rooms in the house, so Lakis was still occupying the sofa in the living room. There was space in the basement/storage room, but there were dolls stuck in it⦠I think Iâll clean it up later when Lakis isnât looking.
When I told Lakis yesterday that I didnât have a vacant room, he said that using the living room was fine. He was fully aware that he was an uninvited guest. But I was still suspicious of his habits.
âDid you sleep well or did you still feel sick?â
This time, he shook his head.
âIt may be a bit early, but I have to leave so breakfast will be ready shortly. If you arenât hungry, you can eat it later.â
Lakis was still sick, but that wasnât a reason for me to be absent from work. Itâs a different story if he were a fragile creature that needed all of my care.
But he was a villain with a pure appearance and a life force of a cockroach. At least he was a strangely well-mannered villain. Well, itâs better than being arrogant, and ordering me to do this and that.
âPlease wait a minute. If you need anything, just let me know.â
I said so and headed for my room. First of all, I had to change out of my pajamas.

His blue eyes stuck to Yuri retreating back to her room.
âWhat was that just now?â
Only
He frowned, questioning what had happened a little while ago. In fact, he was awake before the door even opened and he could hear the sound of Yuri moving about.
âSheâs going to work again today. Do all the eastern kids get up and go to work all day like ants?
Lakis was a pessimist, who never knew when or where he would be beaten to death.
No matter how injured he was, he couldnât fall asleep anywhere.
âFuck, a life like that is no fun. Yeah. When I see kids like that, I want to give them the luxury and entertainment of the people of Carnot.
When he came into this house, he was stunned that someone was taking care of him, butâ¦It was an exception because he was so exhausted that he fell asleep.
He was watching her every move in the dark living room. He was especially surprised to see her out of her room in her pajamas.
T/N: sorry for not updating yesterday, i was sick & tired. nothing much happened this chap⦠but i hope you enjoyed:)
