Chapter 40 - Hangover

Isabella Clark

I lean on one of the desks right in front of our king size bed. I'm drinking an orange juice that I poured by myself this morning, I'm drinking it alone while waiting for Alex to get up.

I keep staring at him while shaking the glass on my hand to mix the juice in the glass until he finally wakes up. He slowly got up from the bed then lean onto the headboard. His eyes are closed it looks like he's having a hangover,

"There are an aspirin and a water next to you," I said and it makes him open both of his eyes.

I watch him being dizzy on the bed before decided to leave him alone in the room then go into the dining room to found that the breakfast is ready.

"Is he working today?" Luna asked me.

"I don't know," I said.

"It's pretty late already," She said before leaving me alone in the dining room.

I finished breakfast all by myself then sit on the living room watching the news on the tv until he suddenly walks down the stairs with his formal clothes on. I watch him fixing his coat while walking down the stairs, but he doesn't even throw a glance at me. He got into the elevator right away, skipping his breakfast again.

I let out a breath after watching his action these days, we've never really talked since we moved into his penthouse. I'm so confused with him but I'm still mad, there isn't even any thank you word from him.

I know I got an event to attend today in the town, I know I'm mad at Alex but in the situation like this, I have to tell him that I have an event to attend.

Bella Clark :

Alex, I have an event to attend you don't have to worry about me.

I left my phone then went to take a shower, I got into the bathroom. I look into the mirror with a heavy thought in my mind, my barefoot touch the cold floor before the water started to pour against my skin.

After I took a long relaxing shower I am finally ready to go, I walked down the stairs and I found Glenn and Luna are talking in the living room.

"Miss Clark," He said.

"Glenn?" I asked him.

"Mister Adams asked me to accompany you to your event," He said.

I check on my phone and guess what? He left me on read. Good job Alexander, you just confuse me more.

"Okay then," I said.

Glenn drove me by himself into one of the malls right in the center of the city, Kelsie said that she's going to be late cause she has to take Noah to a hospital. So I'll be there all by myself with the other model friends that being invited too.

Glenn never leave me alone he always stays in the room through the whole event, I met so many influencers that attend the event too. It is a makeup brand event so most of the guest are ladies. I met Claudia, one of the most famous influencers these days, she's so nice.

"I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you," she said.

"Haha I'm fine, thank you," I said.

"Would you like to say hi to my subscribers?" She asked me.

"Of course!" I said then she began to turn her camera on.

"Hey everyone guess who's here?" She talks to the camera.

"Hi!" I said.

"The gorgeous Isabella Clark!" She said.

"Hi all, don't forget to subscribe to her channel!" I said.

"Aw thank you!" She said.

"Thank you so much Bella," She said after turning off her camera.

"Your welcome," I said.

"So are you alone or ?" She asked me.

"I'm actually with my boyfriend's bodyguard but my manager is on her way here too," I said.

"Guess your boyfriend very protective now," she said.

"Yeah.., it's annoying," I said.

"It is for your own good, and maybe he doesn't want anything happens to you," She said, and she's kinda right.

"Yeah," I said.

I was having a good talk with Claudia until I see Kelsie's appearance, I'm about to ignore Kelsie for a while cause Claudia is a really good friend to talk. But it looks like Kelsie is in a hurry and really need to talk to me, so I left Claudia to go to Kelsie.

"Hey Kels," I said.

"Seriously you don't need to come, you should be with Noah," I said.

"Is that guy has to follow you everywhere now?" She asked me while looking at Glenn who's standing near the exit door.

"Yeah," I said.

"I seriously have to talk to you but not in front of that guy," she said.

"Bathroom?" I asked her.

"Not here?" She asked me.

"My house?" She suggested.

"Yes okay, let me say goodbye to everyone first," I said.

After that, we went to Kelsie's house where there are only Kelsie, Charlie, Noah and I inside of the house. Charlie was watching the tv when Kelsie and I arrived and Noah, he is sleeping in his room cause he is sick.

"So what?" I asked Kelsie.

"There's something we need to talk to you bell," Kelsie said.

"What happened?" I asked them cause both of them look so serious like we're having a serious family conversation.

"So, Noah went home yesterday then he hands me this" Charlie said then show me a yellow letter.

"What is that?" I asked him.

"We don't know, Noah said it is from a man who was wearing an all-black outfit," Kelsie said.

"And?" I asked them.

"It has your name on it," She said.

"Shit," I said.

My heart stopped for a moment when she said that,

"Is Noah okay? Did the man do something to him?" I asked her.

"He's fine, thankfully no," Charlie said.

"And the Adams company was asking me for your schedule for the next one month," Kelsie said.

"For what?!" I asked her.

"I don't know," she said.

"We don't know, Maybe just to make a security shift for your event?" Charlie said.

"Do you want to open this?" Charlie asked me.

I grabbed the letter from his hand then slowly open it, it is a yellow letter then when I open it. My heartbeat beats so fast,

It is a shape of a face drawn by red ink, or is it a blood?

What the fuck?

"Oh my god," I said.

"Shit," Charlie said.

I look up at both of them and they have a horror face when they look at the yellow letter, I feel so scared and my hands are shaking.

"I'm so scared right now," I said.

"Come here bell," Kelsie said then she pulls me into a hug.

"I'll never forgive myself if anything happens to Noah," I said.

I broke the hug then look into both of them,

"I understand if you want to quit for Noah," I said to Kelsie.

"Of course not, we're a family," Kelsie said.

"We're going to be there no matter what," Charlie said.

"We'll never going to leave you bell," Charlie said.

"Thank you so much," I said.

"So I made a dinner for us, who wants dinner?" Charlie said then it made me smile.

We spent the night by having a dinner together until the clock shows that it is 9 pm already. I went home with Glenn, Alex haven't called me or texted me yet but whatever I'm still mad at him though.

I got inside, I was about to walk up the stairs when his voice suddenly makes me realize that he's in the living room.

"Where have you been?" He asked me which makes me stop from walking up the stairs.

"It's almost 10 at night," He said like he did nothing wrong.

I stay in a silent while looking at him who's sitting on the sofa in the living room,

"I should be the one who asks you that question yesterday," I said.

"Where have you been?" I asked him back.

"It's none of your business," He said.

"Then it isn't your business too," I said before walking up the stairs, he sounds pissed he follows me up to our room.

"Of course it is mine, I have to know Bell I'm worried about you!" He said while we get into our room.

I throw my bag on the bed before turning around to find him standing behind me,

"Don't you have a phone? What is the use of Glenn then?" I asked him.

"What have you done yesterday?" I asked him while taking off my coat.

"Why did you want to fuck me? When you got home pissed?" I asked him.

I left him in our room then walk into our closet to put my coat back into the closet, he follows me then stand on the doorway.

"I was waiting for you to come home and I was waiting for your apology but you went home late!"

"I was worried as fuck don't you know that?!" I asked him.

"What if anything happens to you?!" I said to him.

"What if anything happens to you?!" He raised his voice more than me.

"My safety doesn't matter," He said.

"Don't you ever say that," I said.

I am surprised when he shouted at me,

I take the yellow letter that Charlie and Kelsie gave to me from my coat's pocket,

"Someone gave this to Noah, and it has my name on it" I said to Alex before a tear fell from my eyes.

I cannot hold it anymore, it just fell from my eyes. I knew I will end up crying after having a fight,

"The man knows where Noah's school Alex, and I'm," I said.

"I'm scared if anything happens to the people that I love," I said.

His hazel brown eyes look up at mine, the situation in the room is getting colder when those strong cold eyes looking up at mine which fills with tears.

"I'm scared if anything happens to you," He said.

"I'm scared if anything happens to anybody," I said.

"I'm scared to live my own life," I said.

His eyes are saying sorry to me but he does nothing, he only let out a breath but I can see a worried in his hazel brown eyes. He throws me a glance one last time before turning around to leave me alone inside of the closet.

I heard our bedroom being closed, it means he just left the room and I'm scared that he's going to leave. But he can do whatever he wants, but his action confuses me more and more.

I got into the bathroom to clean my body and my face, I've done brushing my teeth and I'm so ready to sleep. I open the bathroom door and I found him facing the big glass wall in our room, he is staring at the city lights. The lights are being turned off already, so the lights are only come out from the bathroom.

I walk closer into him before slowly wrapping my arm around him, I close both of my eyes when I put my nose against his right shoulder.

"Baby," My low voice called him.

"What happened to you?" My voice breaking the silence in the room.

"I miss you," I said.

He only stayed in silent until his body slowly turns around to pull me into a hug, and there's the moment where a tear falls from my eyes.

He pulls me into a hug, his arms are wrapped around my body while bringing my body closer into him. I can feel his chin against the top of my head, I feel safe and warm every time he does this.

"I'm sorry," The words finally spilled from his sweet lips.

"I was wrong," He said.

"Shouldn't go home drunk that night, shouldn't use you that night," He said.

"I love you bell you should remember that," He said.

"I love you too Alex," I said.

"I'm going to protect you with all my life," He said before planted a kiss on the top of my head.

At that night, I should've to feel warm and comfortable but I feel confused and know that there's something he hides from me.
