Chapter 4 - The ugly truth

Isabella Clark

"Bella! Here bella" they said.

"Bella! How is your response towards Anthony's new girlfriend Stacy Brawn?"

"Alex is it true the benefits of the company is going down drastically"

He held my hand as the flash from the camera always successfully blinding my vision, i didn't wear any sunglasses that night to cover their crazy flash, plus it was a dark at night of course. He put his arm around my waist as he opened up the door for me, he let me got in first then he got in behind me.

It took a few minutes until the driver could move the car cause they were circling the car which made me had too looked down onto the floor. I didn't like being followed by anyone especially by them, i got no benefits from them all they do was throwing some untrue rumors to make money from it.

Once the car found a space to move forward the driver push in the pedal which made the car ran faster to make sure there were no paparazzi or any media following us. I saw a black van was following us but it was his bodyguards.

He closed the window that connected us into the driver's space so it made the driver couldn't hear anything we said or maybe we do.

"Hey you should say thanks to me back then" he broke the silent.

"Why should i?" I arrogantly asked.

"For pinning you onto the wall and wanting to kiss you" he sarcastically said.

"Of course for making Anthony Harvey jealous of you!" He said.

"I don't think that you were helping me" i said to him.

"What?!"

"He doesn't get jealous easily, and now he got a girlfriend he must be don't care" i said to him.

"Whatever"

"That bastard always having some random chick every month" he suddenly said and it felt like my heart stopped beating, my lips shut, the car felt so empty.

"What do you mean?" I could hear my own voice was shaking.

"You didn't know?" He asked me, like he didn't care about my feelings.

"That guy always bring a different chick to every after party, do you think this is the first time he cheated?" He asked me then i stayed in a silent, i felt so shocked to hear that from him.

That means i was making myself a fool, and i was too stupid to trust him then realize that I wasn't the only girl.

"No miss Clark you're wrong" he laughed at me and i felt like i was being thrown by a trash.

My chest felt hurt and i felt my heart was shattering into pieces while this bastard next to me kept laughing at me for my stupidness.

"How do you know?" I asked him and my voice was still shaking, it was still so hard for me to swallowed the ugly truth.

"I have some friends in the team and i have a lots of friends that invited me to their after party especially when they won the game" he said.

"there were always some random girls sitting on his lap while messing up with his lips" he said while laughing like it wasn't a big deal and it was so funny for him.

"But he's a smart one to hide it from the media, his reputation is so important for him I don't know why"

I stayed in a silent after he told me everything that Anthony did to me, i felt like a fool who trusted him so much after all of those years. I shouldn't trust anyone that much, i should probably move on and forget about him.

My eyes were blurry but thank god it was dark so he couldn't see me crying, i knew he was going to teased me and making fun of it if he found out that i cried. I hold it as best as i could by controlling my breath.

The car ride was full of silent he kept playing on his phone writing down an email for his work, a slow music was being played in a low volume.

After a few minutes the car finally got into my apartment building which was my stop, he didn't say anything before i walked out and I didn't even expecting something from Alex.

I didn't know who broke my heart that day Alex's words or the truth about Anthony. All i wanna do was lay on my bed then cried as hard as i could so i would be okay by tomorrow morning.

I closed the door behind me then walked straight into my apartment, the hot tears finally fell from my eyes. I brushed it away with my coat sleeves, i wished Alex didn't notice that i cried in his car.

My eyes fluttered opened as i heard my phone ringtone next to my pillow, i looked into the phone screen with a blurry face and i knew it was Kelsie.

"Morning girl" her energetic voice greet me.

"What is it Kels? I knew I don't have any work today" i said to her.

"You have now" she said.

"What?"

"You are in a contract with Mr Alexander Adams, which make you have a job to do almost everyday honey" she said and it made me put my face on the pillow knowing that i was stuck with that jerk for the next two years of my life.

"Congratulations" she said and it didn't help.

"Anyway all the news and the media are full of both of your faces last night have you seen it?" She asked me then I received a link from her.

Of course no, i cried last night so i watched an old movie to make myself feel a lot better then i have to deal with this in the morning ugh.

The link was about Alex and i, there was a picture of Alex and i when we walked out of the after party that night. I started to scroll on the time line where the tag line was ugh some of them were really annoying.

It seems Alexander Adams found his new make out partner!

Isabella Clark left the after party last night in the arm of america's hot bachelor Alexander Adams.

Isabella clark and Anthony finally met after their massive break up last night, but they've seen hanging out with some other date!

"Shit I regret everything i did with him last night" i said to Kelsie after i read all of the title.

"Haha why, it's cool to make Anthony see that you got someone better than him" she said.

"Better?"

"The tagline is more an advantage to Alex than me, it seems like I'm a goat who fell into the lion's trap"

"It successful make Alex's name good but it sounds like not for me" i said to her.

"It was only the first time they've seen you guys together"

"The only one who can make both of your reputations good are both of yourself, how you guys act towards each other how to behave around people, people will look how you both act and won't pay attention to what's media said" she said.

"Okay what should i do today?" I asked her.

"You just have to have a lunch with him but first you should come into his office to caught his employees attention"

"Ugh what time is it?" I asked her.

"It's 10 am get your ass up come on" she said.

"Okay okay bye" i said before hung up to her.

Shit i hate to wake up and getting my ass done to meet him again cause i knew we wouldn't stop judging one another. He's ridiculously handsome but he doesn't have a heart, his heart was an ice cold and he was rude.

I used an uber to get into the cafe next to his office building to by a cup of green tea latte for myself cause i knew i needed a drink to chill my mind before meeting him.

I got inside of the cafeteria then ordered myself a drink, the memory from the night where i met Alex right inside of his office room played in my mind. I hadn't met his family except his mom from that night, and i kept praying that i was going to be in the same space with him just only for the lunch time cause I really need to take a rest after a full week of working plus i was too tired to listen to his shitty words.

I got my order then i went into the office building by walking cause it looked like that it wasn't so far from there, buy then i regret wearing a heels that day cause the weather was pretty hot and the rode wasn't so close at it looked like. It turned out that i had to walk pretty far from the cafe even the cafe was right next to his office building.

After a few minutes walking I finally got there, i had to walk up the lobby stairs which was full of people who was wearing their uniforms which were so formal and i was wearing a super casual clothes, it felt like i was wearing a wrong dress code that day.

I walked inside but being stopped by the administration desk cause they thought I didn't have any plan but then i realized that they didn't know about my 'secret' with their big boss's son i mean the bastard.

"I'm sorry miss but have you made any plan with Mr Adams?" She asked me.

"Uh maybe" i said.

"I'm sorry what's your name?" She asked me,

do not expect that everyone knows your name bell.

"Isabella Clark?" I asked her then she typed my name on the computer in front of her.

"I'm sorry miss but your name isn't in the list today" she smiled politely then i nodded.

I got my phone out of my purse then call Kelsie  hoping that she would help me with this case but she didn't pick up. So i think i have a very last plan to call the main evil that was sitting at the 21st floor.

"What?" Is the first word he said when he picked my call up.

"I cannot get inside" i said.

"What are you doing here?" He asked me, then i rolled my eyes when he asked me that.

"Have somebody told you about the plan?" I asked him in a low voice.

"No" he said.

"I'm here just let me in" i said to him.

"Ok" he said then hung up.

I haven't done talking but he hung up, i was pissed that made me had to control my anger my controlling my breath. I thought the plan wasn't going to work like its plan but then the lady on the administration desk called my name.

"Miss Clark" she called me with a smile on her face.

"Yes?" I said.

"You're allowed to go to the 21st floor, Mr Adams is waiting for you" she smiled then i thanked her.

I walked straight into the elevator then pushed the 21st button floor right away, the elevators brought me straight into the 21st floor.

Once the elevator door being opened i could hear the sound of the 'office life' it was pretty interesting to be inside of this serious office like that, cause i had never been working in the office and i thought they were amazing.

I walked out of the elevator then walked into straight into the end of the hall where his room was, i felt i caught everyone's attention while i was walking down the hall. They were looking at me with a question mark on their head like "what is Bella Clark doing here in my office" or "is that the girl that Mr Adams going to bang this week."

I walked straight onto the big wooden door at the end of the hall where i met the same lady that greet me from that night. She smiled like she knew that i was going to come into the office after she saw me that night.

"Mr Adams is waiting for you Miss Clark, welcome back" she smiled politely.

"Thank you Gina, Bella is fine" i said reading his name tag then she smiled.

I pushed the door then found Alex was typing on his laptop, his eyes looked up at me for one second and there weren't any excitement on his face, so far different from Anthony,there was always a smile on his face every time we met.

Stop comparing both of them Bell this one is fake not real

"Hey" i said before closing the door behind me.

"Are you successfully caught their attention?" He asked me.

"I guess" i said before taking a seat right in front of him.

"Until when are you going to stay?" He asked me.

"As long as you want me to stay even though i know you don't want me to" i said to him.

"I need you to stay until 5" he said.

"What?!" I asked him.

"I've actually planned to go home after lunch cause i have a full schedule last week i need an energy" i said to him.

"Will you please shut up, I'm working"

Ouch

"Okay i'll stay" I calmly said.

His words always hurt.

I sat on the couch in the middle of the room where i could make a gap between me and him, i hate to see him everyday then i also had to swallow all of his shitty words.

My phone suddenly ringing from my purse then i saw my mom's picture on it, i frowned cause I was scared that I had to lie to her that i was just fine.

"Hey bell" her sweet voice said.

"Hey mom" i said.

"How are you?" She asked.

"I'm fine, just like normal" i lied.

"I saw your runaway last night and you look beautiful" she said and i smiled.

"Thank you" i said

"Bell.." i heard a worried on her voice and my weakness was to make my mom's worried about me but that time i knew i was in a really low position where I couldn't even describe how i felt.

"I saw you cried on the media, are you okay?" She slowly asked me and i stayed in a silent.

I looked into the wooden door in front of us while it was getting blurry to hear her voice in a situation like this. It was so hard not to cry this week, i didn't want her to heard me broken or making her worried about me.

"Honey?" She called me.

"Mom.. no" i said before i broke into a cry.

"I'm sorry bell" she said and it broke my heart to hear her saying that word.

"Okay maybe, I'll call you later" she said.

"Love you bell" she said.

"Love you too" i said then ended our phone call.

I put my phone away then hide my eyes with my right hand, i knew i looked terrible when i cried and i didn't want Alex to mocked me because i cried.

A box of tissues suddenly appeared in front of me, i looked up and found him giving me a box of tissue with a sorry eyes. His left hand rest inside of his pocket while the other was giving me the box of tissues.

I pulled a piece of tissue then whipped away my tears with it, i looked away while he kept standing in front of me while looking down at me. I didn't want him to see me in my weak position but i just cried in front of him.

I got up from the sofa and decided to walk into the sink which was at the edge of the room but he grabbed into my arm which made me had to turn around,

"I'm"

"I'm sorry" he said.

"It's not your fault" i said before turning around to walk into the sink to wash my hands and fixing my face.

He watched me walked into the sink until the big wooden door being opened by somebody, i heard Gina's voice on the door.

"Excuse me Mr Adams, Mr James from accounting manager is here to see you" i could hear her voice and i could feel his stares after gina said that to her.

He sighs after he looked into me,

"Can you move the meeting into the end of the schedule today?" He said.

"Got it sir" she said before closing the door.

A few seconds later Gina opened up the door again and that time she saw me then threw me a smile,

"I'm sorry sir, Mr James is worried that he cannot see you at the end of the schedule today" she informed and it made him threw a glance at me.

"How about tomorrow"

"You have a full schedule tomorrow sir" She reminded him.

"It's okay, i'll wait for you at the lobby" i said to him before walking passed him to grab on my purse.

I walked out of his office passing gina who was politely smiling at me, i sent her a smile before walking out of his main office. I could see a tall man and i was pretty sure it was Mr James, and i hoped the meeting wasn't going to be so long cause i was hungry.
