Chapter 118 Wallpaper

On their way back to Central City, Luo Xiaolei was staring outside the window when she turned to Yu Chen. She was about to ask something but before she could say a word, she clamped her lips shut upon seeing that the man’s eyes were closed.

She stared at his gorgeous face and she could tell that he was already asleep. Luo Xiaolei noticed his worn-out appearance and she furrowed her brows. She remembered him sleeping on the chair when she woke up and she bit her lips. Could it be that he didn’t sleep at all last night?

Luo Xiaolei felt her heart being lightly squeezed. She didn’t know what she did to him or what happened last night but knowing Yu Chen, that moment she saw him sleeping on the chair, she immediately realized that he must have had decided to sleep uncomfortably on the chair because he was being the gentleman that he was. She was drunk and was even the one who did the move on him but Yu Chen didn’t take advantage of her, not even when they were both alone in a room where she was completely defenseless and vulnerable. Even though she obviously didn’t see a thing, she just knew that Yu Chen never laid a finger on her while she’s asleep.

Thinking about it, Luo Xiaolei’s gaze on him turned softer than ever. Why? Why did this man have to be this precious?

Luo Xiaolei felt her heart already opening up to him. It was like he had completely dissolved the layers of metal walls she had wrapped around her heart. The walls that never even suffered a tiny crack and were standing strong for four years had been penetrated. She still didn’t fully understand how did it happen. She was always alert and was always armed with her shield and spear to make everyone keep their distance away from her but when this man was the one standing before her, she was voluntarily putting her arms down and willingly opening the gates for him to enter before she even realized it. Well, how could she even point a weapon to a person like this? How could she even stand her ground against him when she didn’t even have the heart to fight him and drive him away? How could she leave this innocent fluffy little puppy all alone outside the gate? How could she resist the urge to adopt this adorable endangered species and protect him in her arms from this harsh cold world?

While Luo Xiaolei’s feelings and thoughts began to contradict inside her, she saw that Yu Chen’s head moved sideways when the car took a turn. So she moved close to him and gently made his head rest on her shoulder.

To the eyes of the man in front, who had been glancing at them once in a while, Luo Xiaolei and Yu Chen were just like the main couple in a shoujo series, that were being lovey dovey in the car as the pink cherry blossoms blew on them. They were just so sweet and pleasing in the eyes that the man did his very best to sneakily take a good photo of them.

When the car finally reached Scarlet Hill, Yu Chen was still fast asleep in Luo Xiaolei’s shoulder. She could hear his even breathing now that the car had halted.

The guards had already opened the door for them so Luo Xiaolei raised her hand to awaken Yu Chen when she suddenly stopped. She put her finger on her lips as she looked at the guard, signaling the man to let Yu Chen sleep for a while longer.

Understanding her request, the guard nodded and silently shut the door closed.

They were both left inside the quiet car. Luo Xiaolei stared at his jet black hair for a while before she too tilted her head and landed her cheek on his head.

After an hour, Yu Chen finally opened his eyes. When he noticed that his head was leaning onto someone, he slowly lifted his head.

"You’re awake." Luo Xiaolei immediately spoke, smiling at him as soon as their eyes met.

Yu Chen on the other hand was dazed for a moment before he blinked and looked around. When he realized that they were already home, he creased his brows while Luo Xiaolei already pushed the car’s door open.

He watched Luo Xiaolei climbed out of the car before he followed suit.

"Are you still sleepy?" she asked as the both of them walk towards the entrance and Yu Chen shook his head.

"No, I’m fine now." He replied when he halted. His phone in his pocket vibrated so he took it out. He stared at it and then he looked at Luo Xiaolei. Er, why was he looking at her like he was asking her permission to answer the call?

"I’ll go inside first." Luo Xiaolei then said and she walked towards the entrance leaving him behind. Yu Chen stared at Gu Jinyang’s name before he sighed and answered his call.

Gu Jinyang had actually sent him a message early morning asking him to come in the company. But it was already 10 and the CEO didn’t arrive so he could only call him again.

But as soon as the call connected, before Gu Jinyang could even say a word, Yu Chen had ended the call with a one liner, "I’ll come after lunch."

Of course, the gossip guy had heard what he said and his lips curved up in a mischievous smile.

"Ahem, it’s rare for boss not to immediately rush out when there’s trouble. Was it because you’re still not satisfied with sleeping on your fiancée’s shoulder? Even though you slept on her like that the entire trip?" Gu Wei was just blabbering but his words made Yu Chen’s eyes widened.

"The entire trip?" he echoed and Gu We nodded like a rattle.

"Not just the entire trip. Aside from the almost two hours trip, you also slept inside the car one more hour after we arrived. So you slept on her shoulder for almost three hours. How sweet..." he grinned. But afterwards, a mischievous smile appeared on his face as soon as he noticed the lines on Yu Chen’s forehead.

Gu Wei sidled towards him and then he showed him the photo of them that he took a while back. The photo that he showed him was the one where Luo Xiaolei had also landed her cheek on his head as she closed his eyes.

"Aren’t I great? Huh? Boss? Praise me for snapping such an extremely priceless and precious memory..." Gu Wei said when Yu Chen snatched the phone in his hand and stared at it. His gaze turned extra soft and he couldn’t take away his eyes off it.

"Pfft! So you liked it veryyyy much eh, boss?" he asked and Yu Chen didn’t hesitate to nod. "How about we pit this as your wallpaper? Give me your phone boss, let’s give your boring phone a life, a fluffy life full of love."

Gu Wei was really animated as he spoke. Yu Chen glanced at him and then he gave him his phone, surprising Gu Wei to the core. OMG! He actually agreed!!!

"Make it fast." Yu Chen ordered and Gu Wei immediately sent the photo on Yu Chen’s phone. But before he could set the photo as his wallpaper, a mischievous idea popped in his head.

"Wait a second boss, let’s make this photo more romantic okay? Just a split second." He said and then with a wide grin flashing across his face, Gu Wei edited the photo and put hearts and ’I love you’ stickers all over before setting it as his wallpaper and gave it back to him.

"How’s it? Pretty romantic, right?" he asked and to his surprise, Yu Chen seemed greatly satisfied. Wah, the boss liked it?!!!

Yu Chen: "Why did you have to put a pink horn in my head?"

Gu Wei: "..." Ah, he noticed it!
