173. The Producer

Many years later, when Wei Changfeng thought of this proposal, he still found it quite incredible.

He was never an impulsive person. He liked to plan everything. Proposing was within his plan but it happened so hastily.

However, hasty as it was, it was full of sincerity. Without the blue sky, white clouds, cyan sea,  warm beach, noble guests, kind relatives, and close friends, they were still engaged at home, accompanied with the soft love song and their gentle lovers.

This might not be a perfect proposal, but Wei Changfeng thought it was the best thing he had ever done in his life.

That night, the two of them did it nonstop. The next day, they woke up in a daze and grabbed a bite. Then, Qi Le’an got on Wei Changfeng again. Their desires were kindled easily. The two of them were both naked, wearing the diamond rings alone.

The diamond rings reflected beautiful light under the sun. Qi Le’an lay on the bed and fiddled with the ring in the sunshine. Wei Changfeng, who was wrapped with a towel, came over with a fruit platter, saying, “Eat the fruit first. And let’s go out for dinner later.”

Qi Le’an turned his gaze from the diamond ring and forked a piece of apple, saying, “I don’t want to go out…”

He didn’t want to go out. All he wanted was to make out with his lover at home.

Wei Changfeng patted Qi Le’an’s butt as if punishing the latter. Qi Le’an’s butt was very tight. Without much strength, a light pat could cause a crispy sound of clap. Qi Le’an’s butt immediately turned red after being patted. He threw the fork and lay on the bed, yelling, “You are abusing me just after you proposed to me! I cannot stand it! I’m injured! I cannot move now!”

Wei Changfeng couldn’t help but laugh. He started to rub Qi Le’an’s butt gently, making Qi Le’an feel so comfortable. In the end, Wei Changfeng pinched his butt and said, “Okay, eat quickly and get dressed.”

Qi Le’an threw a few pieces of honeydew melon into his mouth, got out of bed leisurely, and went to the bathroom. The integral power shower set made the sound of igniting a fire. Wei Changfeng turned around and wanted to enter the bedroom to get changed.

Qi Le’an stretched his head out and shouted, “Wei Sama! Is the ring waterproof?”

Wei Changfeng had yet to think about this problem. He took it off before he had a shower, so he shouted, “I took it off before I showered!”

Qi Le’an retracted his head, and after two seconds, he reached out and shouted, “But what should I do if I can’t bear to take it off?”

Wei Changfeng replied, “Then don’t!”

Qi Le’an, who returned to the bathroom, looked at his ring and didn’t want to take it off. Yet, he was afraid that the ring might be damaged if it was soaked in the water. Finally, he carefully took the ring off with gritted teeth and put it on the waterproof table.

He took a quick shower and dried himself without hesitation before putting on his ring.

It was shiny and pretty!

The more Qi Le’an watched it, the more satisfied he was. Humming a song, he was eager to take a photo of it and post it on Weibo.

Eventually, he still perished the thought. He had better keep a low profile. As a saying went, the couples who gave public displays of affection would break up soon.

He decided not to torture those who were still single!

Thinking about this, Qi Le’an went out of the bathroom. Wei Changfeng had changed his clothes and now, he was on the phone. He looked at the naked Qi Le’an and gestured that his clothes were put aside.

Qi Le’an didn’t want to wear clothes. Neither did he want Wei Changfeng to wear clothes. So, he ran over and rubbed against Wei Changfeng.

Wei Changfeng avoided his approach. Qi Le’an pouted while Wei Changfeng touched his head with the hand that wasn’t holding his phone.

“Okay, see you later.”

After saying that, Wei Changfeng hung up.

Qi Le’an, who didn’t hear what the call was about, asked, “Who are you meeting later? I thought we are going to have dinner later.”

Wei Changfeng personally brought the clothes from the back of the sofa for Qi Le’an and said, “I’ll go to see Producer Tresse later.”

Qi Le’an was so shocked.

He immediately stopped messing around. As he put on his clothes, he asked, “Tresse? I thought we would meet him this weekend?”

Wei Changfeng said, “He just called me, saying that he has something else to do this weekend. He asked me if we were free tonight. Since we are going out for dinner today, I told him yes then.”

Qi Le’an was not ready at all! Besides, he was indulging his sexual proclivities for several days. He even had dark circles! Everyone could tell what had happened with a glance at his eyes.

Wei Changfeng saw through what Qi Le’an was thinking and laughed, “You are overthinking again.”

Qi Le’an put on the clothes that Wei Changfeng had prepared, ran to the mirror, and looked at himself in the mirror, saying with a long face, “I do have dark circles!”

Wei Changfeng thought that they had done it day and night. If Qi Le’an still didn’t have dark circles, Wei Changfeng must be too weak.

Qi Le’an picked up the concealer on the table and applied it to himself. He looked back at Wei Changfeng asked, “Do I look better?”

Wei Changfeng walked over and helped Qi Le’an apply the concealer. “It’s okay… Don’t worry.”

Qi Le’an was still a little nervous.

Tresse was also one of Wei Changfeng’s classmates, and he had a profound background in New York. It was said that his family had a cooperative relationship with several major movie studios. The moment he graduated, his career just prospered. The famous directors and stars all had to show some respect for him.

He and Wei Changfeng agreed to meet in a high-end restaurant. After sitting for ten minutes, he saw Wei Changfeng.

Then his eyes glittered and he stood up.

“Fynn! I haven’t seen you for ages!” Tresse gave Wei Changfeng a big hug.

It wasn’t news that Wei Changfeng went back to Tisch for further study. Unfortunately, Tresse had been too busy before. Hence, this was the first time they met each other since Wei Changfeng came to America.

“Long time no see,” Wei Changfeng introduced the person beside him to his old classmate with a smile, “This is An.”

Tresse looked at Qi Le’an. Qi Le’an was wearing a brown T-shirt today and he looked a little prudent. Tresse smiled and said, “You two look like twins!”

Then he noticed the diamond ring on Qi Le’an’s hand and was stunned.

“This is…” Wei Changfeng smiled and said, “I never told you that An is my lover.”

A hint of surprise flashed across Tresse’s eyes. Then, he exclaimed with excitement, “This is so cool! Congratulations! Fynn! An!”

It had been a few days since Qi Le’an was proposed. He loved his ring very much and never thought of taking off his ring. When Tresse looked at him, he finally realized something but he didn’t expect that Wei Changfeng should introduce him to Tresse the next second!

Qi Le’an felt sweet inwardly. Facing the first blessings after being engaged, he smiled and said, “Thank you.”

The three of them sat down, and soon a waiter served the dinner. Tresse said, “An, I watched the Othello you played. It was so brilliant!”

Tresse went straight to the point while Qi Le’an said shyly, “I’ve acted before…”

Tresse burst out laughing and said, “Some people are born actors! An! You are one of them!”

Qi Le’an didn’t expect anyone to compliment him like that. For the moment, he felt quite flattered.

Tresse sighed again, “Fortunately, Fynn gave me the ticket that day, or I would have missed you.”

Wei Changfeng coughed and asked, “What do you mean by missing him?”

Tresse laughed loudly. Ignoring the couple’s lovey-dovey actions, he said, “Have you read the script with Fynn before? What do you think of it?”

“I feel the heroine is pretty bad,” Qi Le’an said honestly.

His words made Tresse laugh again. Qi Le’an found that the great producer in the movie circle turned out to be easily amused.

“I think so too!” Tresse said mysteriously. “Don’t tell others this. The prototype of the heroine is the ex-girlfriend of Damien!”

Qi Le’an felt so astonished.

Wei Changfeng couldn’t help but shake his head with a smile. Then, he cut the steak for Qi Le’an and put it on his plate. Tresse said mysteriously again, “Don’t tell others about this! It is a huge secret!”

Was it appropriate to tell such a big secret to a person he met for the first time?

When the meal was over, Qi Le’an almost believed that Tresse was an innocent and silly guy.

In this regard, Wei Changfeng said, “He’s not. He’s just playing dumb. Think about this. Over the meal, did he say explicitly that he would choose you as the male lead?”

Qi Le’an thought about it carefully and realized that Tresse didn’t say that.

Wei Changfeng added, “What he is best at is livening up the atmosphere.”

Qi Le’an had to admit that the atmosphere over the meal was quite good indeed. What a great producer!

“So, do I have any chance?” Qi Le’an was a little nervous.

Wei Changfeng said while driving, “There should be no problem. He seldom takes the initiative to contact actors.”

Qi Le’an could tell that it was not easy to meet Tresse. He said, “Wei Sama, thank you.”

Wei Changfeng smiled, “Thank you again? I just casually gave his assistant a ticket and didn’t even mention you at all. It was because you are really capable.”

Qi Le’an was stunned again.

Wei Changfeng sighed and said softly, “Le’an, you are really good. What you’ve obtained is the outcome of your hard work, not any gift I gave you.”

Qi Le’an felt so warm.

There was a long-distance between him and Wei Changfeng before. Hence, he was self-abased when he was finally with his prince charming. Besides, Wei Changfeng had helped him so much by far, which made him feel like a deadbeat.

However, Wei Changfeng told him again and again that this was the result of his hard work.

Qi Le’an felt that he would burst out crying again. He wanted to cry again.

How could there be such a good person in this world?

Wei Changfeng saw Qi Le’an’s expression and knew that Le’an understood what he was thinking.

Qi Le’an suddenly said, “Wei Sama, I will become as good as you one day!”

Wei Changfeng smiled and said, “Okay, I’m waiting for you.”

Qi Le’an looked at Wei Changfeng and couldn’t help but want to laugh. How nice!

He couldn’t help wondering how long it would take him to become as good as Wei Sama. Wei Sama had acted in a Hollywood movie before, and now he was about to direct one. It would be really difficult for him to catch up with Wei Sama!

Thinking of that, Qi Le’an was a little discouraged.

But when they got home, this disappointment immediately turned into excitement!

“Wei Sama! Tresse sent me a message asking if I had time! He told me that Director Damien wanted to meet me!” Qi Le’an called out with his phone in his hand.

Wei Changfeng didn’t expect Tresse to reply so quickly. He was slightly surprised, asking, “When?”

Qi Le’an was typing quickly, “I don’t know… When do you think is appropriate?”

Wei Changfeng was beaming with a smile. He answered, “The director wants to meet you but not me… I think you should meet him as soon as possible.”

Qi Le’an nodded and replied to Tresse that whatever time was fine with him.

Tresse replied with an “okay” emoji and nothing further.

Qi Le’an scratched his ear and cheek in anxiety. “What does he mean? Is the time of the appointment fixed or not?” As the time was not finalized, he felt quite uneasy!

Wei Changfeng looked sideways and said, “I guess that they are finalizing the time of the appointment.”

As expected, ten minutes later, Tresse sent Qi Le’an a new message.

“As a Chinese proverb says, there is no time like the present. So, let’s meet tomorrow morning.”

With an adrenaline rush, Qi Le’an got so shocked and shouted frantically, “Tomorrow morning? That’s too soon!”
