6. Disgusted By A Call

Qi Le An settled in his new life, and his scene with Wei Chang Feng were scheduled three days after the ceremony.

Qi Le An was so agitated since morning, he got up earlier than usual as well. Assistant He found Qi Le An reading the scripts already when he was up, “An, you are early today!”

Qi Le An said shyly, “I just want to be fully prepared.”

Assistant He nodded.

It wasn’t a challenging scene, Bell had accidentally overheard Grandmaster’s conversation with the Mysterious Man, and Grandmaster lifted his hand to help Bell transform to human after the Mysterious Man left.

Qi Le An didn’t have any line, while Wei Chang Feng said, “Go, Bell, go follow Hao Ran.”

What Qi Le An needed to deliver was a Spirit Beast who was smart but knew only a smattering of Grandmaster’s intention.

Hu Bin didn’t have any shooting this morning, he chose to stay in the hotel with Assistant He. Qi Le An went to the setting gall by himself on the shuttle bus, everyone in the crew liked this young boy.

The makeup artist the crew arranged for Qi Le An was a woman in her thirties, she smiled at Qi Le An on seeing him, “An, you are finally on today, yeah?”

Qi Le An nodded with happiness written all over his face, “Yes, Sister Li, I need to trouble you today.”

Li chuckled, “Relax, you are in good hands, I will make you so handsome that you will look so good even in the presence of Wei Chang Feng!”

Qi Le An had been arriving early at the setting every day, he was on one hand learning other people’s acting skills, and on the other hand he had been helping the crew members. He didn’t think he was degrading himself by hanging out with the crew members, he liked to be friends with everyone.

Li was right, Qi Le An was in good hands. A good-looking Spirit Bunny showed up in the mirror, Qi Le An was wearing a white costume resembling bunny with fur decorations on the head and tail, all the makeup artists chuckled at him and they started to take pictures with the cute bunny one by one.

Qi Le An found himself quite amusing as well, it had been so long since he laughed in a carefree way like this day.

Qi Le An then walked out of the dressing room to say hi to Director. Cui, Director. Cui couldn’t help but praise Qi Le An, “This outfit looks so good on you, we haven’t tried this bunny outfit in fitting, you look good, An!”

The Assistant Director echoed, “What a pretty boy An is, this is the new trend, I’m sure fans will love An.”

Qi Le An replied with modesty, “The stylists in the crew should take the credit.”

The directors smiled, “Go get ready, Wei Chang Feng is supposed to be here any minute now.”

With that, Wei Chang Feng and his assistant walked in, Wei Chang Feng smiled at Qi Le An, “That’s... quite an outfit.”

Qi Le An’s heart was hammering in his chest as he heard that.

Wei Chang Feng had his own makeup artist, his makeup was done in his trailer, so he just needed to get changed in the dressing room. Soon they started shooting, the Mysterious Man who was hiding in the mirror was special effect, so Wei Chang Feng said his lines to the air.

It sounded funny, but Qi Le An noticed Wei Chang Feng had fully delivered, his lines, his expressions, his reactions... ...

The youngest Best Actor, Wei Chang Feng surely had what it took.

Wei Chang Feng’s part was done soon, it was Qi Le An’s turn, he walked in front of the camera under the staff’s instruction. He had rehearsed this numerous times in his mind and in front of his mirror.

They shot the scene five times because of they needed to edit with the special effect. Wei Chang Feng lifted his hand at a bunny then next second the bunny transformed into human shape, and that was Qi Le An’s cue.

Then it was Qi Le An’s close-up, he needed to change his expression from dazed to panicked, he had no idea why he was in human form now, and he dared not look at the Grandmaster.

The Grandmaster just said with a straight face, “Go, Bell, go follow Hao Ran.”

Bell seemed to not understand what Grandmaster meant, he now raised his had and stared at Grandmaster with his big round inquiring eyes.

The Grandmaster sighed and turned away.

Bell stared at Grandmaster’s retiring figure, looking confused.

“Cut! Great! Great performance, An!” Director. Cui exclaimed, he found Qi Le An full of surprises, young as he was, he was able to show layers of emotions from the simple description on the script.

Qi Le An’s first reaction was to cast a glimpse at Wei Chang Feng after Director. Cui praised him.

Grandmaster was someone who barely showed any feelings due to his decisive position, but Wei Chang Feng in real life was as warm as a spring breeze, he smiled at Qi Le An and spoke highly of him too.

Qi Le An just felt so satisfied from head to toe!

As a matter of fact, he didn’t care whether he had a line or not, but he was so elated that Wei Chang Feng said he did a good job.

Qi Le An now walked back to the dressing roo to return his outfit while Wei Chang Feng continued shooting with other actors.

Qi Le An got an expected call from Mr. Li in the afternoon, “An, how have you been? Are you setting in fine?” Mr. Li sounded so sincere.

Qi Le An knew Mr. Li was calling him about something, but he wasn’t sure what it was exactly, so he replied, “Everything is all right, thank you for calling, Mr. Li!”

“I heard you are on good terms with Hu Bin, Hu Bin is doing great himself, I’m sure you can learn so much from him.”

Qi Le An said yes.

“Director. Cui told me you shot a scene with Wei Chang Feng, An, for a talent like Wei Chang Feng, the sky is the limit for him. You don’t need me to teach you what to do, right?”

Qi Le An was disgusted by the tone, but he had to reply, “Yes, I know what to do.”

Mr. Li now put on a gentle tone, “Great, I will visit you soon.”

Qi Le An still felt disgusted long after he hang up.

Assistant He was out, Qi Le An told himself in the mirror, “I know you hate this fake sincerity, but you need to go through this before you get stronger! It’s just a matter of a few years. Work hard and get your freedom back, soon you can decide your won destiny!”

Qi Le An took a deep breath and put on a cap, he was going out for some dinner. Hu Bin was shooting overnight, they wouldn’t be eating together.

‘Well, it’s a great chance to look around at this famous film and television base.’ thought Qi Le An.

The evening lights were lit, the city looked so hustle and bustle in a charming way. This was a small town several years ago, but hot money poured in and it had become a large film and television base with hotels, restaurants and other supporting infrastructure newly built.

Some natives chose to be extras in the day and set up a stall at night, they surely worked hard.

Numerous starlets were in this town, Qi Le An was just a trainee, he wasn’t worried other people might recognize him on the street.

Qi Le An took a long walk before he walked into a small restaurant, he took a seat in the corner where he could see outside and take refuge behind the plants at the same time. He ordered the specials and started to look at the passers-by outside the window.

Qi Le An liked to observe people, for he thought art and life were inseparable, take acting for an example, he could learn so much from observing strangers talking to each other, their emotions and facial expressions especially.

And he learned that from Wei Chang Feng. He met Wei Chang Feng through a reality show, ten starlets got training from famous actors as their mentors, and a guest mentor would show up in each episode as well, Wei Chang Feng was one of the guest mentors. However, Qi Le An didn’t think he had leave Wei Chang Feng a strong impression in the show, for he was very low-profile.

The waiter now served Qi Le An’s food while he was in a daze, it cost Qi Le An 47 Yuan, it consisted four dishes in small portion, one serve of soup, and a small serve of fruit salad.

It was a feast for Qi Le An, but something happened after he paid his bill.

“You! It’s you! It’s you who has almost knocked me down! Stop walking! You!”

Qi Le An frowned, it was a drunken fat middle-aged man, quite unpleasant to see.
