Chapter 36 - They Look Amazingly Alike (2)
Return of the Female Knight
Ch. 36 They Look Amazingly Alike (2)
âPlease wait a minute, Mirabelle.â
She felt troubled. Castle Blaise teemed with knights, and as long as Mirabelle was outside it would be difficult for Kuhn to escape.
Sggâ
Kuhn silently pointed to the window of the room. She stared at him not knowing what he meant, but it soon became clear when he pulled a rope from inside his jacket.
âAhâ¦â
Before Elena could say anything, Kuhn secured the rope to the window and leapt out fearlessly. Startled, Elena ran towards him. Mirabelle, who had become impatient, opened the door and stuck her head inside.
âWhat are you doing? Are you busy?â
âOh, no. Come in, Mirabelle.â
With Elenaâs permission Mirabelle fully opened the door and entered the room. Elena glanced back worriedly outside. Kuhn had already reached the ground and he looked up at Elena with an indifferent expression. When their eyes met in midair, Kuhn bowed his head as usual, then he turned around and casually walked away. Elena couldnât help but chuckle.
âHe really is an unpredictable person.â
In a way, Kuhn was even more protective of his identity than Elena. Mirabelle came to her side, looking out the window.
âIs something happening out there?â
Following Elenaâs gaze, Mirabelleâs dark green eyes reflected the image of Kuhnâs figure. Mirabelle pointed at the man with his finger.
âOh! Sister, look at that man.â
Elena answered cautiously, glancing at the rope that was secured to the window.
âWhat about him?â
âHis hair is the same color as my teddy bear.â
âOh, I see.â
Elena nodded, remembering Mirabelleâs toy. It was made with a velvety material of a unique blue-ish black color, and was even more precious because their late mother had given it to Mirabelle when she was born. When she was young she couldnât sleep without it.
ââ¦They look amazingly alike. â
Elena and Mirabelle watched Kuhnâs figure gradually disappear. However, Elena soon became nervous about the rope connected to the window, so she quickly diverted attention.
âBut what brings you here?â
âOh, I just wanted to ask what youâll pack when we go to the capitalâ¦â
Mirabelle spoke but she could not take her eyes off Kuhnâs back so easily. She thought if her bear were alive, he would look just like that.

âStay safe.â
Derekâs normally stiff manner was replaced with a worried expression as he said his goodbye. At the entrance to the castle, Derek, the butler Northman, and all the other servants came to see Elena and Mirabelle off as they made to leave for the capital.
âWe will come back in good health, so donât worry,â
She spoke reassuringly to Derek, even though he added more than a few knights to their party. She then turned to address the Northman, who was standing next to Derek.
âLook after the household while Iâm away.â
âPlease feel at ease. Thanks to your careful attention, it will be in good shape.â
âThen Iâm glad. If anything should happen, please send me a letter.ân/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Mirabelle tugged at Elenaâs hand as her farewell became longer and longer.
âThatâs enough. Weâll be here for days at this rate. Whatâs more, brother is looking too worried.â
âStillâ¦â
âCome on, letâs go. Weâll get you a present when we get back!â
Mirabelle led Elena into the carriage and immediately waved to Derek standing outside, and he gave a short nod.
âWe should start before the day gets too late.â
Mirabelle spoke to the coachmen impatiently.
âYou hear that? Letâs go.â
âYes, young lady.â
The coachman snapped the reigns, and the carriage slowly began to move forward. Mirabelle waved her hand until Derek was out of sight, and Elena replaced her last greeting with a slight bow of her head. As the horses gained a little more speed, so did the beautiful scenery passing outside the carriage window. Mirabelle, who rarely left Blaise Castle, looked expectantly out of the window and murmured to herself.
âIâm looking forward to traveling this far with you, sister.â
Elena had been working alone to save Carlisle, but now she was also delighted to have Mirabelle with her.
âIâm sure it will be enjoyable. Letâs have a good time.â
She smiled contentedly, ignorant of what was waiting for them in the capital.
