Ch. 9 Nevermore

A/n: Sorry this chapter took so long I just been so busy with school, and work so I am not able to work on it as much as I like, but time has helped me improve this chapter so I hope you all enjoy it. :)

10 minutes before Spider-Man arrived at the old power really station.

In the middle of a field on the top of a mouton a few miles behind Beacon.

Raven pov

I am in my bird form on top of a tree waiting for Ozpin to arrive, so we can negotiate with my hostages that I have got back at the power station. I just hope that Gargain can keep the rest of the crew in line while I am gone.

As I look at the academy I can't help but think about Yang, I was glad to see that she is doing alright, she has made great friends, and she seems to have taken a liking to a boy. I will be honest I am not too sure about he doesn't seem like the hunter type, I'll keep an eye on him.

I look to see that Ozpin arrived,

Finally, I fly down, and transform into my normal form, and meet his gaze with mine.

Ozpin: It is good to see you again Raven.

Raven: Skip the pleasantries you know why I am here.

Ozpin: *sigh* Straight to business then.

Raven: The last offer you made is not enough, my tribe needs more.

Ozpin: I have offered you food, clothes, medicine what more can you possibly need?

I cross my arms as he said this.

Raven: My tribe can use some electricity, and from what I hear you got a great source of power in your basement.

Ozpin gives one of his trademark glares it seems I got under his skin, good.

Ozpin: If I give you that, you know what it will unleash.

Raven: That seems like it is your problem.

Ozpin: If it does become my problem it will be your problem soon, and when that happens..

Raven: I will take care of it, I always do.

Ozpin: *Sigh* Please Raven let was cooperate, you and your tribe can be a great use in fighting Salem.

Raven: So you just want to use me and my men and women as grunts t in your war.

Ozpin: No that's not what I meant, Raven your brother misses you we all do and we would like it if you came back.

Raven: You know why I can't do that.

Ozpin: Then if not for me or your brother, then do it for your niece and daughter.

I get angry as he says this. and grip my sword

Raven: I am doing this for them.

Ozpin: Is that what you tell yourself because from where I am standing you left them because you were afraid and tried to save yourself instead.

I pull out my sword and hold it inches away from his neck, furious at his accusations, I would never do that to them I am doing this so they can live.

Raven: I called you here for one reason Ozpin, so do you want to meet my demands or do you want to have more blood on your hands.

Talking to Ozpin always made me enraged, I really want to kill him where he stands, but I need those supplies.

*Beep beep*

Then Ozpins watch just beeps

Ozpin: I can't do that.

Raven: WHY NOT!!

Ozpin: Because you have nothing to bargain with.

Raven: What!?

Ozpin looks at his watch.

Ozpin: I just got word that team CFVY just arrived at the bullhead landing safely and sound.

I thought he was bluffing at first but there was this look in his eyes that looked serious, I pull my sword back.

Raven: Who did you send.

Ozpin: does it matter your crew is more than likely that your team will be arrested soon

I glare at him and turn into my bird form and fly to the station at a fast pace

Who could have taken out my crew, and rescue the hostages without any serious complications, I ordered to threating to kill them if things got to harry, and there is no way to sneak the hostages out without anyone noticing, because there is only one way to the top and it is guarded by some of my best men. The only way that someone could have gotten the drop on them is if they climb up the side of the....

Raven: Gods damn it.

I reach the station and I see as I fly overhead and see most of my guys on the ground webbed up. I knew it he sent the Spider-Man. I look and see Mac fighting him and it looks like the spider has the upper hand.

I go to the forest just out of sight turn back into my human form and see that Spider-Man just knocked Mac out. I put on my mask and then I use quickly charge at him hoping to catch him by surprise but he dodges it as if he knew I was coming.

I stop and turn around and put my hand on my hilt, and I finally get a good look at the hero.

He is shorter than I imagined, his costume is bright and colorful and the eyes on this makes seem to move to match his facial expressions.

Spider-Man: Um Hi.

Even though I can't see his face, his voice makes him sound like a young kid.

3rd pov

Raven: So your the popular Spider-Man everyone is talking about.

Spider-Man: Yes, Good to meet you, and who the hell are you guys?

Raven: What?

Spider-Man: I recognize your name, but I just can't place it, and it's really bugging me so can you please tell me who you are, please.

Raven: I..uh *ahem* I am Raven Brownwen of the Brownwen tribe.

y/n just clapped his hands and did a fist bump into the air just like when you remember something that you have forgotten momentarily.

Spider-Man: Yes I knew I heard you name before, I heard some of the local gangs talk about how your tribe is the most deadly in Mistral.

Raven: You heard correctly.

Spider-Man: Wait, then why are you here in Vale?

Raven: It should be obvious isn't it, we were going to exchange the team for supplies we needed from Ozpin.

Spider-Man: No I meant why are, YOU specifically here?

Raven: What?

Spider-Man: Reasorce gathering does not sound kind of a small mission for the big boss bandit to tag along?

Raven: I figured they would need help taking down a team of second-year hunters and it.

Spider-Man: Then why didn't you just do this in Mistral, I am sure the headmaster there can supply you with the same goods you wanted.

Raven: ...

Spider-Man: So either Ozpin has something you specifically want or your in cahoots with FancyHant.

Raven had a genuinely surprised look on her face but y/n could not see it because of the mask, which Raven was thankful for.

Raven: You're a smart one I will give you that.

Spider-Man: Are you working with Torchwick?

Raven: No.

Spider-Man: Well can you at least give me some details?

Raven: What makes you think, I know anything?

Spider-Man: Well as a leader of a gain of thieves I am sure you keep track of all those you consider a threat.

Raven: If I did know something, what makes you think I would tell you.

Spider-Man: Because a lot of innocent people are going to get hurt.

Raven: Only the weak ones will get hurt, and they are not worth protecting.

y/n was surprised and Raven can tell because of the way his lenses on his mask moved.

Raven: However you were strong enough to defeat my men so I will let you go before I change my mind.

Raven starts to turn around

Spider-Man: No.

Raven: What?

Spider-Man: You and your underlines still kidnapped and hurt four innocent people, so I am going to bring you in before you hurt anyone else, whether they are strong or weak, like you.

Raven was taken about what he said.

Raven: Then tell me something 'Hero' if you're so strong why do you do this, put yourself in dangerous situations just to save four people who mean nothing to you?

Spider-Man: Because I have powers and when people need help it is my responsibility to help them because with great power comes great responsibility, that is what makes someone strong.

He speaks those words as if they mean a lot to him on a personal level. and Raven will never admit it but she is impressed by his resolve.

Raven: I admire your ambition kid, but your cause is flawed.

Spider-Man: Saving people, and stopping bad guys is a flawed cause.

Raven: You are going to start to attract the wrong kind of attention.

Spider-Man: Sooooooo I guess that a man with shock gloves and a rampaging Rhino is the right kind of attention then?

Raven: *chuckle* I was referring to people like Ozpin.

Spider-Man: What the headmaster, yeah I am already suspecting that he has a lot of secrets, Nevermore.

Raven: Oh you don't know the half of it, you do not want to be drawn into his world kid, if you want to make it in this world you got to look out for yours...wait, what do you just call me?

Spider-Man: Nevermore what do you think.

Raven: What do I think?

Spider-Man: Well All of the real big villains I fought, they all had cool code names like Hydro-man, Rhino, or Shocker. And you are wearing a Nevermore mask sooo.

Raven: OK it is clear that I need to teach you what someone trying to survive can do. Maybe you will learn something.

Spider-Man got in a fighting stance, and the lenses on his mask gave raven a glare.

Raven: You don't want to do this kid, I am a fully trained huntress, and I know all the techniques that they teach at Beacon or any other combat school.

Spider-Man: Maybe you do, but you don't know a thing about me.

Raven: Whats to know you are a kid in over his head and...

Thwip

He spins a web toward the left of Raven's head which lands on a burned out generation l and pulls it off and hits Raven in the head

Raven stumbles and her ears are ringing and her vision is blurry.

Thwip

I look and see that he has now spun a wen onto the hilt of Raven's sword and then pulls it out of its scabbard, throws it to a tree and webs it in place in one swift motion.

He then takes advantage of Raven's disorientation by uppercutting her and sending her into the air, then he jumps in the air and throws a few punched and kicks while they are both in midair, he then webs her up and throws her to the ground and breaks her helmet in half. Y/n then lands back on the ground while Raven starts to get up.

She gets up and looks him dead in the eye.

Raven: Impressive you are more clever than I took you for.

Spider-Man: Uhh thanks.

he looks at her puzzled a little.

Spider-Man: You look kinda familiar.

Raven: Sorry I can't say the same you must be mistaken

She takes this opportunity to rush at him and punch him in the face while he is distracted.

This caught him off guard but he quickly regains his composer. Raven tries to throw a few more punches at him, but he was able to quickly evade them, y/n then jumps behind her and dropkicks her sending her back and then webs up nearby objects and throws them at her keeping her at a distance. Raven charges at him and kicks him in the stomach knocking him back. But he quickly recovers and webs his way toward her and delivers a series of quickly focused punches and kicks he strikes she tries to block but he is just to fast and keeps dodging her punches thanks to his spider-sense, and knocks her back about 5 feet.

Spider-Man: So I have been thinking.

Raven: *mph* What?

Spider-Man: I get that a tribe of bandits on the run from the law takes a lot of supplies to operate, but do you have to steal them all the time. You could have some of them hold jobs. That would give you a suitable income, for when you're not robbing people or demanding ransom from them.

He tries to shoot a web ball at her but she turns to her bird form and flies towards her sword.

Spider-Man: WHAT THE...

She turns back normal and breaks her sword free.

Raven: Look I am not the one you should be fighting.

Spider-Man: Says the women dressed in black and has dark supernatural abilities.

Raven is getting more and more annoyed with this kid.

Spider-Man: Take it from someone who used to wear a black outfit, wearing something more colorful makes people trust you more.

Raven: OK I am going to end this.

She turns her sword into a gravity blade charges at him, he tries to dodge but her sword managed to slice his chest horizontally, launching him back into the tower creating a dent in the structure of the tower.

Raven: You weren't ready.

I look where my blade meets his mark, but there is no cut or even a tear in his suit.

Raven: What magic is this.

He climbs out of the whole raven made in the tower.

Spider-Man: No magic at all this is all science.

I swing my sword at him at multiple angles, but he just keeps on dodging them

Raven: Hold still you little...

Spider-Man: I am sensing some hostility.

He swings up to the side of the tower and, jumps off of it and kicks Raven in the face.

Spider-Man: I think you might be getting a little mad at me.

She puts her sword back in the scabbard and changes it to an ice blade.

Spider-Man: Wow you can use dust to create your sword, that is so awesome.

I use my sword to try and strike him but he just jumped off and I just hit the tower.

y/n then webs Raven's hands to the tower. At this point, her aura was getting pretty weak.

Spider-Man: Alright Nevermore, it's been fun but I think it's time I turn you in unless you want to turn yourself in which case feel free.

Spidey could not see her face but he could tell she was not particularly happy, then all of a sudden the sky which was bright as day a second ago looked like it was going to have a massive rainstorm.

Spider-Man: What the?

Then without warning Raven Breaks free and quickly moves toward y/n and hits him with a right jab, then a right hook, a kick to the stomach, then a couple more jabs then a few hits with her sword, she then swings her blade at him again but he catches it and stares her down.

Raven: What are you?

Spider-Man: I am Spider-Man! but seriously how are you doing this with the weather and what is with your eyes.

Raven and Spider-Man were at a stalemate her not being able to move her toward and y/n trying to move it away from him. Raven's frustration reached a boiling point and as a result, lightning started striking around them every few seconds until one bolt hits a generator causing an explosion knocking them both back in opposite directions.

30 minutes later

Raven pov

???:..............................oss?

???:.....Boss?

I slowly wake up and see Mac holding one half of my helmet.

Mac: let's get out of here boss.

I grab my sword and make a portal, which takes a lot out of me since my aura is almost gone but I cannot show that weakness to Gargen. I look and see Spider-Man about 10 feet away starting to come to, I clench my fist and walk through the portal and Gargan follows suit.

y/n pov

y/n: oh my head

I get up and see that Raven and Scorpion are gone, but I call the police anyway to get the remaining members of Raven's crew.

I get up and go and get the part of Raven's Nevermore mask she left behind. I know she said we never met but she still looked so familiar.

y/n: Well 3 out of 5 ain't bad. Raven huh? I am going to have to keep an eye on her and find out what her relationship with Ozpin is. But I can't focus on that right now, she is not directly harming my city yet, but Fancy Hat and his Boss are I need to take care of them first.

I take a deep breath, but first I have an event I need to prepare for.

OK time for my next mission of renting a tux.

3rd pov

Mistrial setting a large office with a bid window and, one tall man looks out his office window. Then his office door opens.

Assistant: Excuse me, sir.

Osborn: Yes

Assistant: We have the bullheads prepared we should arrive at Beacon by In a few days.

Osborn: Ozpin is aware of our arrival?

Assistant: Yes.

Osborn: And what about our 'scientist friend'

Assistant: He awaits your arrival as well sir.

Osborn: Good alert the others we will leave at 8:00 am tomorrow.

Assistant: Yes sir, but there is another matter as well.

The man turns around and looks at him with great curiosity.

Osborn: What is it.

Assistant: General Ironwood is at Beacon to sir, apparently he is overseeing the upcoming Vital Festival personally

Osborn just laughs at this and turns back to his window.

Man: Ironwood huh, this will be a very 'interesting' business trip. We will continue as planned understand.

Assistant: Yes Mr. Osborn.

Osborn: Now leave I wish to be alone.

Assistant: Of course.

He leaves, and Mr. Osborn looks to the night sky

Osborn: So you decide you use a display of power to scare off your enemies James, Well two can play at that game old friend.
