3rd pov

Beacon Halls

It has been a few hours since Junior was arrested, the news has not been made public yet, and everybody was going to their classes, including team RWBY and y/n were heading to Dr. Connors' wildlife class.

Ruby: So what do you guys want to do after class?

Weiss: Study?

Yang/Ruby: No

Ruby: We promised y/n that we would do something fun for his first day at school.

Weiss: Studying is fun if you do it right.

Ruby: No it's not.

Weiss: Then your not doing it right.

Ruby: Grrrrr.

y/n: We can decide after school when we have more time to think.

Yang: Alright.

Ruby: What about you Blake?

Blake: sure

Blake seemed like she was like in just in another world, but they all shrug it off and go to class,

y/n pov

I am a little annoyed that I could not sit with RWBY since the first row only had four seats left, but I relax since I will be spending time with them after class. So I end up sitting next to a Blond guy in a hoodie instead.

Blond kid: Hey you don't look familiar are you new here.

y/n: Oh yeah y/n l/n, pleased to meet you.

I extend my hand and he shakes it.

Jaune: Jaune Arc

I notice three other people sitting next to him

y/n: Is that your team

Jaune: yeah that's Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren

Jaune's team seems like a collection of oddballs, but I still would like to know them better, that Pyrrha one looks familiar.

y/n: They look like a talented bunch, I am guessing you're the team leader.

Jaune: Yeah..wait how did you know

y/n: I am psychic!

Jaune: WHAT REALLY!?

y/n: *snort* No.

I and Jaune share a  laugh at my joke, maybe I should have told him I was psychic...Nah I would not be able to contain my laughter if he believed me.

Then Jaune stopped and looked sorrowful.

Jaune: I still don't know If I am cut out for this,

y/n: Hey don't be so hard yourself, I am sure you are a great leader.

Jaune: You don't even know me.

y/n: I am a good judge of character.

I notice his mood is starting to brighten up a bit.

Jaune: You sound like Pyrrha.

I look over to Pyrrha

y/n: Isn't the girl on the Pumpkin Pete's Cereal Box?

Jaune lights up as I say this.

Jaune: That's where you recognize her too.

y/n: Of course that stuff is delicious.

Jaune: I know right.

I feel like I can become real friends with Jaune.

y/n: I never meet anyone else who really likes the cereal.

Jaune: Me neither, I actually got the Pumpkin Pete hoodie

y/n: Oh lucky, I always wanted one.

Jaune: Hey you want to hang out sometime, maybe play some video games

y/n: Sure sounds fun I love video games.  So what is this teacher like.

Jaune: Professor Connors?  He is a nice guy it's just the subject that can be a bit boring.

y/n: How so?

Jaune: It just about the animals other than Grim that live among us. He says it's important to know about all life out there not just the ones that want to kill you, which is cool but it can be slow at points.

Creak

I hear the door open and steps out a tall blond man with glasses wearing a lab coat. This must be Prof. Conners

Connors: Alright students I hoped you enjoyed your time off, I hoped you completed your assignments I gave you to work on.

Ruby:*groan* Yes.

Weiss:*Chipper* Yes!

Connors: Good, and I understand we have a new student joining us today,

He looks at his note pad.

Connors: Mr. y/n, l/n, please make him feel welcome, and now open your books to chapter 7 we are going to learn about reptiles.

y/n: Not big on introductions I take it.

Jaune: You should have seen him at the beginning of the year.

I proceed with the class happy that I made another friend.

Timeskip after School, Prof. Connors' classroom

3rd pov

Kurt looks at his watch as if he is waiting for someone.

Connors: Where is he..huh?

Before he could finish a man enters holding two cups of coffee.

Connors: You alright Otto, it's not like you to be late.

Otto walks over to him and hands him a cup of Coffee.

Otto: Sorry ran into Ironwood on the way here.

Connors: OH sorry, it must have been difficult

Otto: Y..yeah it was a bit awkward.

Connors: Hey did anything happen?

Otto: He asked me how I was doing since being 'asked to leave' Atlas.

Connors. I think that it's a god damn disgrace that they kicked you out for your revolutionizing the field of science as we know it.

Otto: It is a real shame project P.3.N-3 was my top achievement, but they said that it was too unpredictable.

Otto was acting very calm and this was confusing his fellow scientist.

Connors: Come on man they shut down your project, burned all your research, and had you expelled, doesn't that make you angry.

Otto: I try not to dwell on the past.

Connors: Hey it is OK to be angry.

Otto: I'm fine Kurt.

Connors: Otto...

Otto: I SAID I'M FINE!!

Connors takes a few steps back

Otto: Sorry, I'm just...

Kurt puts his hand on his shoulder.

Connors: I get it.

Otto: Besides I have been working on something better.

Connors: Better than A.I?

Otto: Trust me this is a project bigger than any of us.

Beacon courtyard

y/n and team RWBY have been playing tag for a few hours now, and it has been pretty fun, but everyone can see that Yang wants to change the subject because Blake is near impossible to tag.

Yang: Oh hey y/n we have not seen your weapon yet.

As soon as she says that the attention of the entire room is on me. 'Great'

y/n: Oh umm, you sure it's not that great.

Ruby: Oh come on it can't be that bad everyone's weapon is an extension of themselves, like my Crescent Rose, Weiss' Myrtenaster, Blake's Gambol Shroud, or Yang's, Ember Celica.

y/n: OK then!

He reaches into his hoodie pocket and pulls out what looks like a gun handle, y/n then presses a button to extend it to reveal that it is an old rusted double-barrel shotgun with claw marks and dents.

Ruby/Blake/Yang/Weiss looked at it as if they just saw the ugliest thing in the world, but they were to polite to say anything.

Ruby: Ohh that's uh nice?

Weiss: That is the oldest ugliest weapon I have ever seen.

Well most of them did.

Yang: Weiss!!

Weiss: What, it is.

y/n: It's fine, it is pretty old and rusty, and I am not even gonna use it.

Ruby: What, why

y/n: I don't like guns.

Weiss: Then why did you bring that ugly thing in the first place

y/n: umm...because I did not think they would accept me without a weapon of some sort.

y/n was embarrassed as he said this.

Yang: You need an upgrade pal.

She was trying to make him feel better.

y/n: It's actually my father's weapon he called it "Odyssey"

Blake: It looks like it has had a rough history.

y/n: Oh you do not know the half of it.

Ruby: So it belonged to your father?

y/n: Yeah it actually part of a set he made with my uncle Ben and they were a good team.

y/n's expression gets a little sorrowful.

y/n: But that is a story for another time, what do you guys what to do now?

Weiss: Well there is a public pool down in the vale

Ruby: Sounds perfect let's go!

y/n: Um..yeah.

It sounded like fun but being in a swimming pool with three pretty girls was making me nervous,  oh wait what am I worried about, it's a public pool there will be other people there.

We get into our swim gear and we make our way to the lobby of Beacons dorm building, then Ruby gets an idea.

Ruby: Hey wanna invite team JNPR to come with us!

Blake and Yang seemed excited about the idea, Weiss, however, seemed to give a reluctant nod to.  The girls go to get them, I told them I would just wait here.

five minutes later

OK maybe I should have gone with them....*sigh* I wish there was something for me to..oh hello, there is a radio in the garbage.  I grab it and open it up to see what's wrong with it.

y/n: Oh this is...in very bad shape, should be easy.

I fix it in five minutes and give it a boost so the signal can reach Mistral. I put it on the nearby table and fiddle with the nob.

y/n: Got...to...get..it just right...there!

y/n: Mistral Jazz, that should keep me occupied until the...

Yang: Hello!

I jump when I hear this.

y/n: What! oh, Yang, you scared me.

Yang: *laughs* Do you always get scared when a beautiful woman says hello to you y/n?

y/n: Yes.  I mean no I mean.....uh.....I.

I don't think I  was never embarrassed this much before.

Yang: Oh you are so precious.

y/n: Is that...good?

Yang: We'll see. *Wink*

Oh wow, she is not holding back with the flirting, not that I am not complaining, but the flirting and the fact she is in a swimsuit is making me a nervous wreck.

y/n: I...

Ruby: You could have held the door open for us Yang.

Yang: Hey it's not my fault you were all slow.

Team Ruby has finally arrived with four other people and I realize that I know one of them.

y/n: Hey Jaune!

Jaune: Oh hi y/n.

Blake: You two know each other?

Jaune: We just meet in class today but I would say that where friends?

y/n: Yes we are friends.

Ruby: Yay one down three to go.

I get antiquated with the rest of Team JNPR as we head towards the pool, but as we approach it we soon realize the pool is closed and the gate has a chain with a lock.

Ruby: Yawwwww I really wanted to go for a swim

Pyrrha: Well...

Pyrrha uses her semblance to break the lock and chain

Pyrrha: It's not a crime to enter an unlocked gate.

she smiles deviously as she said this.

y/n: That is awesome.

Ruby: Aww yeah.

Yang runs past them all and does a cannonball.

Yang: Well come on then, the waters warm.

They all follow suit and jump in

Jaune: Cold oh my gosh it's so cold!

Ruby: Y...you know you could have told us....Y...Yang.

Yang: And miss the look on your faces.

Nora: Come on guys, the cold toughens you up, where is your sense of strength. *she says in a commanding tone, but in an adorable way.

Weiss: I don't think Jaune has any.

y/n: Come one give him some credit ice queen.

Weiss: Hey!

Ruby: Hey guys I brought a Volleyball set how we save the trash-talking for during the game if you want to play that it.

y/n: Yeah sounds fun.

Pyrah: Sounds lovely.

Weiss: It could be fun.

Nora: Awww yeah let me at that ball!

Yang: Hell yeah

Blake: Ok

Jaune: Oh you all have had it now, I am the best at V-ball.

Weiss: Did you seriously just call it V-ball.

Ruby: What about you Ren?

Ren: I think I will sit this one out I tried playing once

Nora Just got shivers,

Ren: It did not end well, I will just play referee, and I will set up the net

Ruby: Alright, that at least the teams are even,

Jaune: Wait why don't we mix it up a little bit.

Yang: Um...Yeah, that sounds like it can be interesting.

Jaune was trying to be on the same team as Weiss, and Yang wanted to be on the same team as y/n

Pyrrha: OK then why don't the two of you be the team captains, and pick the teams.

Yang:  y/n.

Jaune: Weiss.

Yang: Nora.

Jaune: Pyrrha

Yang: Ruby.

that left Jaune with Blake.

Yang had the ball then she spiked it

Jaune hit it back to y/n who spiked it into the water gaining a point.

Yang:  Whoooo now that's what I am talking about.

y/n was a little distracted by Yang's body but he tried not to look because he wanted to be a gentleman. y/n was always a gentleman but pretty girls he liked where his main weakness.

Nora spiked the ball next and she did it so hard it popped the ball as soon as someone tries to spike it back.

Nora: Ohh sorry,

Rin just kicked another ball into the water as if he knew that this would happen

Jaune: OK Nora can you be a bit more gentle this time

They continued to play for another hour before, y/n made the winning spike ending the game 14-15

y/n: Yes!

Yang: Nice Spike.

Ruby: That was so...

???: Hey what are you kids doing.

They all turned into the direction of a tall Ox Faunus who was dressed as a guard.

Guard: The pool is closed get out of here before I call the cops.

They sighed and took the walk of shame out of the pool, after changing and drying off.

y/n pov

Well, that was a tad bit embarrassing it would have been worse if I had gotten arrested or detention on my first day. *sigh* Anyway we are now walking back to Beacon now,  hmm maybe this is a good a time as any, OK take a deep breath and just go for it.

y/n: *ahem* uh..hi Yang.

Yang: Oh hi y/n.

y/n:...

Yang: Did you need something?

Oh come on think of something you can invent a chemical equation that can make a new web fluid substance that no one has been able to replicate, you can talk to a girl

y/n: Soooo, what made you decide to be a huntress?

Yang: Well, I am a thrill-seeker, I wanna go on a lot of crazy adventures, what about you?

y/n: Well I just wanna expand my area of combat and intelligence.

Yang: Well you seem to have the intel part of it down, I don't see a lot of guys with a tech kind of brain.

y/n: How can you know that you don't know me that well..yet.

Yang: *giggles* I saw you fixing the radio in the lobby.

y/n: Oh it was an easy fix.

Yang: You were able to boost the signal to mistral that is easy for you.

y/n: I am a man of many talents.

Yang: Oh really does that include sparing?

y/n: Yes.

Like you would not believe Yang.

Yang: Weeell I am looking for a sparring partner if you want to get someone on one training with the best hand to hand trained students in the first years in beacon.

y/n: That actually sounds good, um *ahem* when and where?

Yang: Classroom arena after school, it would just be the two of us is that fine.

Yes, this can be my chance for us to get to know each other a 'little better'.

y/n: Yes...yeah yeah that's great.

Yang: Great, just so you know I can get pretty rough.

y/n: *laughs* I think I can handle it.

Yang: So how did you meet Spider-Man?

Ruby: Yang, y/n hurry up your falling behind!

y/n: Maybe I will tell you later when it's...just the two of us?

Yang: I like that.

We make it back to beacon, and we made our way to the library Because Ruby said she had an awesome board game. They all seemed very competitive well three of them did so I decided to sit this one out and get to know team JNPR better.

Beacon Libary

y/n: Hey Jaune.

Jaune: Yes?

y/n: Why are you the only one I have seen who wheres any kind of armor.

Pyrrha: I wear armor.

y/n: Well yeah, but.

Jaune's armor looks like it's made for protection, Pyrrah's is more, um let's say decorative.

Nora: What shorty means armor that's, not sex appeal.

OH WOW, Nora you just like to lay it out on the table, don't you?  Or maybe she did this just to get a rise out of Pyrrha and judging by her face it worked too well.

Pyrrha: N-Nora!!!

Students: Shhhh.

Pyrrha: OH *whispers* sorry!

y/n: Wait shorty.

Nora: You know your kinda a small one

y/n: your one to talk.

Nora: What!

y/n: I'm kidding.

Nora: Oh I like you.

Pyrrha: Oh well um y/n, how did you get into Beacon

y/n: Ozpin pulled some strings apparently, but from what I heard you have enough skill to graduate early.

Pyrrha: Well I am not one to brag.

Nora: Oh see is AWSOME she took down 3 Grimm all by herself...

Nora goes on for a while. Man and I thought Ruby had a lot of energy. As she is talking I look to see Ren reading a book looking a little annoyed, probably because of Nora's talking, I see Jaune reading a comic book, and wait for ohhhhh man he is reading EX Team #12 that's the one I'm missing.

Nora: ...she can probably beat Spider-Man.

That got my attention again, I look at Pyrrah who is clearly been embarrassed, by all the stuff Pyrrah has been saying.

y/n: Really!

Pyrrha: Well I don't know.

Nora: Why not ask him then?

I can tell Pyrrah clearly wants to fight me but she is a little embarrassed about wanting to fight a superhero.

Pyrrha: I don't want to bother him he has more important things to do, besides I am to busy training Jaune.

Jaune was too into his comic book to hear her.

y/n: Oh that's awful nice of you, what made you want to train him.

I see that Pyrrah starts blushing.

Pyrrha: He just seemed like he needed it.

y/n: Oh yeah ok 'sure'.

My scroll starts vibrating, so I go to check it.

y/n: Oh I am sorry I have to go.

Jaune: Oh is something wrong?

y/n: No it just my job.

Ren: What do you do.

y/n: Photographer for VNN.

My scroll starts vibrating a second time.

y/n: Sorry I got to go, bye JNPR, Bye RWBY.

Team JNPR said bye and team RWBY where focused on their game but they all stopped to say bye, they are so nice.

Ruby: OH bye sorry you have to work.

Blake/Weiss: Bye.

Yang: Don't work your self to hard.

I smile and wave goodbye.

RWBY Pov

When Ruby went to go and get her board game from the library 10, the rest of them look at each other in a mix of excitement and fear.

Weiss: So were seriously doing this.

Yang: Um yeah beating up bad guys is what we do.

Blake then noticed y/n's cot in the corner.

Blake: Wait, what about y/n?

Weiss: Oh yeah, should we tell him our plan.

Then Ruby came in with her game.

Ruby: Tell who about our plan.

Yang: y/n.

Ruby: Ohh yeah he is a part of this team.

Weiss: Well technically he isn't, he is just living here with us, and we have not known him that long.

Ruby: But he is a very nice person, I am sure he will help us if we asked.

Yang: He is a very sweet guy, and I don't want to see him hurt

Ruby: But he is our friend too he would help us.

Yang: But if he gets hurt it will be on us.

Weiss: He may be brilliant but we never saw him fight he might have the same skills a Jaune.

Ruby: OK we'll do this without him.

Blake: Where is he anyway.

Ruby: Ren said that he is heading to his job, but that was a while ago he should have been back by now.

Blake: He is, Ren just texted me a little bit ago that he saw him coming back to Beacon.

Yang: I will find him

Ruby: I'll come with you

Yang: No..uh I mean you don't have to you should probably get some rest we had a long day of getting our asses kicked in chess.

Yang laughs nervously and then leaves.

Ruby: Is she...

Weiss: I think she is

3rd pov

y/n was on the roof trying to figure out the crime ring in Vale, but having no luck.

y/n (frustrated): How can they operate on this scale, where do they hid, their operation, why are the White Fang getting so aggressive recently, and why are they following a low life like Roman!! And who is he taking orders from?

He just gives up and just sits at the wall where the door is, then a raven landed on the roof, then yang comes in

Yang: There you are I have been looking all over for you

she sits next to you.

y/n: Sorry I made you worry, I was just... never-mind

yang: Rough day at work.

y/n: I was just thinking of a complex problem and I needed some air, so who won that game.

Yang: *Sigh* Jaune.

y/n: Wait for what!

Yang: Blake left and Jaune took her place.

One explination latter

y/n: Haaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Yang: It is not that funny.

y/n: I can't believe I missed that.

both chuckle.

y/n: I am really glad that I meet you guys, I never had a lot of friends well not for long anyway.

Yang: Then I am guessing you did not get out much (jokingly)

both chuckle again

y/n: Just ever since I lost my family I thought I would not belong anywhere, but I think I have found a place I can call home.

Yang: That is quite a statement to make only after two days.

y/n: Trust me when you been living in a crappy tiny apartment for two years a shared dorm is like a dream home.

Yang: *pfft* Haaahaahaa!

Yang: I like you are almost as funny as me, and I know Ruby and Blake do to, trust me you will fit right in.

y/n: That means a lot coming from you, I do appreciate all of you making me feel like I'm wanted.

Yang: Of course you're our friend now.

They both look at each other in a flirty but awkwardly way at the same time, then they kinda regain their composer.

y/n: So if you and Ruby are sisters why don't you have the same last name?

Yang: well technically were half-sisters, but I was raised by Rubys mom before she died, and my real mom left when I was a baby.

y/n: Wow seems like a pretty crappy mom.

Yang: I Know right, I have been trying to find her for most of my life.

y/n: Why?

Yang: I...I don't really know.

y/n he puts his hand on her shoulder.

y/n: I am sure she would be heard if she wanted to if she does not realize that having you for a daughter is the best thing to ever happen to her then, to hell with her.

Yang: I..thank you I think I needed someone to tell me that.

They both gaze into each other's eyes for a little while but then that raven flies away killing the mood.

y/n: We should uh probably get some sleep.

Yang: Yep, Yep that is exactly what I was going to say.

They both leave the roof and the raven flies off into the night sky.
